Back with another short story!!! đ It will consist of two parts ONLY đ Ashima I hope you like this and we will all miss you when you're away đ Also note if you read my story heartbeat make sure you have pressed like on chapter 19! I won't update till I get 70 likes in total. So if you want chapter 20 on a new thread quickly like it and make it 70!!! I'm being stubborn this time, because I feel its not worth updating when people don't like or comment. I understand many people have exams going on, but if the least you can do is press like if can open my PM and read my updates. That romantic night, that romantic time'. Viren and Jeevika had become Virika at last and today was something more special. Indeed' Jeevika's birthday. That sandwich cake cutting at midnight was priceless, and so was the love Viren had for his new bride. She was just out of this world. Jeevika woke up to the bright and sunny morning. She felt the rays of heat on her face and then on her husband's who was still sleeping. She got up from the bed, but couldn't. There was something holding her back, or someone actually. Viren held her wrist and smiled, still keeping his eyes closed. How he managed to look so charming was beyond answerable for Jeevika. She took a mental image of him so she could remember these moments and remember the greatest gift she had. He was her strength, he was her love.
v - "Happy Birthday beautiful"
Jeevika just blushed at his words and didn't have it in her to say anything to him.
v - "You can stop blushing now you know" he said pulling her close to him making her fall right on top of his chest.
He could smell her beautiful hair and look into her sparkly grey eyes. How pleasant this site was. How he wished he would wake up to this everyday. Then it struck him that now it could and it would. She was his and he was hers, forever and ever!
j - "Virenji, please let me go. I need to quickly get ready and go make breakfast for everyone"
v - How rude! I wanted to take you out for breakfast"
j - "You can't today"
v - "How can you stop me from doing anything? Today is my wife's birthday you see"
j - "I don't know if you remember or not, but last night you had put an alarm on your phone. You have an important meeting in an hour. So get ready fast and I'll go make your breakfast"
v - "How do you manage to remember everything? Make sure you remember to make sometime for your husband today"
j - "All we've been doing is spending time with each Virenji! Even last night'" she was going to say how they were alone last night but she started blushing instead.
v - "What about last night Mrs. Vadhera? You want to spend time like that again? Fine with me, I can just cancel my meeting" he said slowly sitting up but still holding her so she wouldn't escape.
Jeevika did something naughty, yet adorable. She kissed him, right on his lips closing her eyes and feeling his lips meet hers. Even with her eyes closed she could feel and see Viren's smile. She then quickly got up and ran to the bathroom leaving Viren craving for more.
v - "Hadhh hai yaar" he said smiling looking at his wife running to the bathroom.
As Jeevika came out of the bathroom, she saw Viren on the phone. She guessed it was an important client's call so she went straight out to the kitchen to make breakfast. She was already late this morning, and didn't want to ruin her image in front of the whole family. Viren cut the phone, more in anger than anything else actually. He went straight to his cubbord getting out his stuff for office. He took only 20 minutes to completely get ready and decided to leave ASAP. He went through the back entrance as thats where his car was parked. That phone call had made him loose his temper that he forgot everything, including Jeevika. He didn't even remember to tell her he was leaving. What was that important that Viren could forget to inform his wife? And that too on her birthday?
Jeevika came back into the room with a glass of juice and plate full of sandwich, Viren's favorite thing to eat made by his wifey. Jeevika saw the bathroom door shut so figured he was still inside. While waiting for him she cleaned up the room, folding the blankets and putting away all the folded and clean clothes. It had been a while so Jeevika went and knocked on the door of the bathroom, but she got no response. She turned the knob to find it unlocked so she entered and couldn't find her husband anywhere. She was shocked and scared at the same time. Jeevika quickly ran outside her room to see if maybe he was waiting for her in the kitchen, or perhaps even the dining area. She ran in vain but had no luck, no luck at all.
vanshika - "Jeevika beta what happened? Why are you running and out of breath?"
j - "Maa I can't find Virenji anywhere. He's not in the room or anywhere"
vanshika - "Really? That's so weird. I mean did he leave already? But he always tells one of us he's going. Let me call his office"
j - "Ji maa" she said panicking.
Vanshika walked over to the phone and Jeevika followed her. She dialed his number and didn't pick up making Jeevika get real ansy. She then called the office where they informed her that Viren just entered the office and has gone straight into his meeting.
j - "Maa has he reached office? Is he okay?"
vanshika - "Don't worry he's in a meeting. Come with me" she said taking her to the kitchen
She filled a glass of water and gave it to Jeevika who was all freaked out. She drank it slowly and started taking a deep breath again.
vanshika - "I won't leave Viren today. How irresponsible of him not to tell you"
Jeevika just stayed quiet. She and Vanshika started taking out all the breakfast for everyone to the dining area. They all started their breakfast, but Jeevika could barely eat. She had these butterflies in her stomach like something was wrong or something bad was about to happen.
swamini - "Jeevika how come you're not eating? Can't eat without Viren sitting next to you" she said smiling.
j - "No buaji, its not that. I'm just not hungry. I think I'll go to my room" she said getting up and leaving.
swamini - "What happened to Jeevika today?"
vanshika - "Viren left for office without telling anyone not even her and she was all worried"
Swamini just smiled.
Jeevika sat on the couch and messaged her husband to call her as soon as he was free. She didn't know why she was feeling like this. Was it because she was a newlywed? Or maybe it was her birthday? God knew what was happening to her' she figured it was just her husbands charm. She started thinking about the kiss this morning, making her smile unknowingly and blushing also. She felt better when she thought of him, felt him, hugged him. "Him" was everything. But she also hoped everything was okay. The day went on and it wasn't pleasant. Jeevika didn't even recall today being her birthday. Well maybe she did, that's why she was missing her husbands presence. It was so strange she hadn't even realized her family not calling her or Manvi for that matter. Jeevika carried on with her day, rotting in her room. She kept the phone on charge at all times so the minute her husband called she would be able to pick it up. But there was no phone call. Jeevika fell asleep on her bed around sometime after noon. Vanshika went to call her for lunch but saw her asleep. She entered the room and closed the windows making it dark. She could see small drops of tears in her eyes, knowing it was for Viren. Vanshika had never felt that guilty or bad before. Poor Jeevika wasn't being able to think or do anything. She placed a thin blanket over here and closed the door leaving. At three Jeevika finally woke up. First thing she did was check her phone but still nothing. No call, no message. How could he do this to her? Did he not love her anymore? Such strange thoughts kept coming in her mind and she didn't know how to control herself. Jeevika went straight to the bathroom and washed her face. This helped her calm down a little. She came back out and asked Tarun where everyone was. He informed her how everyone was resting in their rooms. He always asked her if she wanted him to warm up some food, but she flatly denied. She was in no mood to eat at all. With a barrier on her heart, she walked back to her room. Or actually her and her husbands room. And the husband was utterly disturbing her now.
Around six in the evening Vanshika asked Tarun regarding Jeevika and he informed her that she was awake and in her room and she hadn't even eaten anything. Vanshika was getting all worried now for her and went straight into her room. She was sitting on the bed hiding her face in her knees. She went and touched her hair, her head softly and gently as possible showing her motherly love. Jeevika picked up her face and looked at Vanshika.
vanshika - "Jeevika why haven't you eaten. This morning also you didn't eat breakfast properly. Come lets go to the dining area and I'll wam up some food for you"
j - "No ma please. I'm not hungry at all"
vanshika - "Jeevika let me tell you something" she said sitting on the bed in front of her.
vanshika - "When Viren was in law school also , he would do things like this. He gets so involved that he forgets about the world. Trust me or ask didi herself on how we had to treat him like a five year old and come and give him coffee and food for him inside his room while studying. I know now you're his wife and you feel responsible for taking care of him and you are doing the best job. And he should be doing that also, but instead he's left you here without informing you. But don't worry he will be fine"
j - "No ma its not that. Its just that I don't know. Something doesn't feel right. Something is maybe going wrong. I just can't think anymore"
vanshika - "Beta that's because you haven't eaten all day also. Come let's go out"
j - "Maa you go I'm coming in ten minutes. I'll just go freshen up"
vanshika - "Okay come fast"
Jeevika got up from her bed and picked up her phone. She called Viren's office where the front desk lady told her that Viren had left the office around noon time after his meeting. Jeevika panicked more now. Now she knew something was wrong. It was time for him to come home from office but he was done hours ago. Where did he go? Jeevika went outside and saw Vanshika setting up the plate for Jeevika in the dining area.
j - "Maa" she said about to breakdown
vanshika - "What happened?"
j - "I just called Virenji's office and they said he left work at 12. More than 5 hours ago and he didn't call once or message me. Ma I knew something was wrong" she said starting to cry.
Vanshika walked over and tried getting her to calm down. Pretty soon everyone started gathering in the family area wondering why Jeevika was crying.
virat - "Bhabhi what happened?"
swamini - "Yeah Jeevika why are you crying, is everything okay?"
vanshika - "Didi, Viren left office several hours ago and he hasn't returned or even called anyone. Where is he" she said panicking now also.
virat - "WHAT? How could bhai do that? Let me call his phone right now"
Virat quickly dialed his brothers number, but it was unreachable. He kept trying and trying till there was a doorbell. Everyone's eyes filled with hope and happiness, but it was only temporarily. Jeevika ran to the door and opened it to see her family all from Hrishikesh. They all yelled and screamed "Happy Birthday." Manvi had a cake in her hands while Dabbu was holding so many balloons. The rest of the family were holding a bunch of boxed gifts for Jeevika. Vanshika, Swamini, Virat and the rest of the family followed to the door allowing them in. But they were all surprised and shocked at seeing Jeevika in such bad condition. Manvi handed the cake over to Virat and started wiping her di's tears. The entire family were a little shocked at not knowing today was Jeevika's birthday feeling bad, but it killed them that she had such a horrible day waiting for her careless husband.
m - "dii what happened? Why are you crying on your birthday? And where's jiju?"
Before she knew it Jeevika had fallen in Manvi's arms. She fainted and everyone rushed to her rescue. Virat brought a glass of water splashing it over her face trying to wake her up. She finally did after several minutes but was unable to fully open her eyes. Virat carried his bhabhi inside her room while everyone followed. Vanshika told everyone what had happened today getting all the members of both families extremely worried now. Here on one hand Jeevika was in bad shape waiting for her husband, and the other Viren who was nowhere to being found. Manvi brought a glass of juice for her di and sat down next to her as she kept crying.
m - "Di right now you have to drink this juice"
j - "Mannu no please. Leave me alone right now"
m - "Leave you alone? Are you crazy? We came all the way from Hrishikesh to celebrate your birthday so you wouldn't be alone"
j - "But I'm alone without my Virenji"
m - "Di, don't worry we will find out where jiju is. First please drink this. I'm begging you di"
Jeevika couldn't say no to her sister so she took the glass and drank it with the help of Manvi. Virat and Inder were outside the room standing in the hallway trying to contact all the staff or anyone Viren may have interacted with today. Inder got off the phone, in somewhat a shock.
virat - "Chachu, what happened? Did you find out anything?"
inder - "Virat..."
