Chapter 10A: Teri harr adha mein pyar hai…..
A few moments of silence follows to take in all that the doctor voiced out….
Before leaving, Arjun shows Vivek's photo from his mobile to the doctor "kya yahi hai Anitha ka pati?"
The doctor looked closely at the photo and then nodded "haan yahi hai.."
He did that just to confirm that Anitha was innocent and didn't have any such affairs….
But Riya looked at Arjun totally stunned by that gesture of his….She couldn't believe that Arjun also suspected Anitha….She wasn't thinking logically from the point of view of the case but she was empathizing with a lady whom she placed at her own position and she was emotionally attached oblivious to herself….Emotions seemed to be ruling her mind and heart at that moment….

Arjun called up Sameer and they update each other with the new details in the case…now all the clues were pin pointing to Anitha's husband….But they had no clear evidence for charges of murder against him…. ….His call records and bank statements were clear and didn't show any hint to him hiring a contract killer….
But yes, they file a case under various sections of domestic violence against Vivek and take him under custody….
But he continuously pleaded that he hadn't killed her…."maine nahi maara usse…..i love her….and I can never kill her…"
Rathod: [scowling at him] dammit! pyar karthe teh, isiliye usse tadhpaathe teh….
Arjun pitches in, "pyar jaise shabd tumaare mooh se nahi nikhalne chahiye Vivek….tum maafi ke agdhaar hi nahi ho….sirf sazaa milega tumhe…."
Vivek: maantha hoom ke maine usse torture kiya tha but I didn't kill her…..
Chotu:sir…..aap log jaahiye…main isse sach ugal waatha hoom!
Shree: [pressing Chotu's shoulders] control kar na…..
Arjun and Rathod look at each other for a moment and nod…..
The rest of the interrogation was to be done the next day as it was too late….
The team calls it a day and decides to leave office…..Though busy all through, Arjun hadn't failed to notice Riya's changes…All through Vivek's interrogation, she stood silently glaring at him…..if mere glaring could kill someone then, Vivek would have been dead by now….Arjun could feel such hatred in her eyes.…
She wasn't talking much to him as well…..She replied in monosyllables and looked away when he looked at her direction…Was she avoiding him? He couldn't understand the reason…..may be the case and the cruelty to Anitha was taking a toll on her mind state…..He decided to leave her to herself for the time being….
When it was time to leave, Riya gathered her things and tried to move out….Arjun stopped her as always….
She tried refusing his lift but she couldn't match up his wits…..So after a bit of arguing, she had no choice but go with him….
The drive to her home was silent……
She was silent as always but today there was an unsettling feeling in that silence….He glanced at her several times but she kept her eyes fixed at the window….She didn't turn to him even once….it was unusual…..Arjun wondered what went wrong today…..why was he angry with him? Or was it her mood swings? He had to find out and sort it out without delay….he couldn't see her angry and silent like this…
Arjun spoke up finally "ab bathaa bhi dho Riya, kya problem hai?? kyun naaraaz ho?"
Riya didn't reply….
Arjun was determined to know the reason…so he parked the car and turned her around to face him "mujhse naaraaz ho, yeh toh dikh raha hai….ab reason bhi batha dho…."
As if Riya was waiting for the moment, she spoke up rather angrily "aapko Anitha ke character pe shaq tha na? isiliye doctor se usski husband ke baare mein poocha na?"
Arjun: [not able to believe that this was the reason for her anger] uss baat se ghussa ho?? Come on Riya, whats wrong with you?
Riya: aapne meri question ka reply nahi diya sir??
Arjun: woh ek case hai Riya…aur humein harr angle se usse dekhna padtha hai…
Riya: agar main Anitha ke jagah hoti tab bhi aap aise hi harr angle se sochte, hai na? that can only mean that you doubt my character!
Arjun: [furious at her] RIYA….bhakwaas bandh karo…jaanthi bhi ho kya keh rahi ho?
Riya: janthi hoom….isiliye pooch rahi hoom….
Arjun: maine pehle hi tumse kaha tha ke apne aap ko victim se ya iss case se itna emotionally connect matth karo….dono ko alag alag rakhna seekho….
Riya:[sarcatically] kehna aur karna dono alag baat hai sir! Usse connect karthi hoom kyun ki main usske wahi dard ko mehsoos karthi hoom….i know how she would have suffered in her life….ek hi difference hai hum dono mein…..woh marr chukhi hai….aur main..abhi bhi zindhaa hoom…..[tears weren't stopping as she said that]
Arjun couldn't hear more of this from Riya….he was losing it with each passing second….
Arjun:[cupping her face] Riya meri taraf dekho….dekho Riya [she slowly lifted her gaze and looked at him while he continued] main jaantha hoom ke tumne bohat kuch saha hai…but u cant give up on life Riya…...tum kamzor nahi ho….na hi kabhi kamzor padh sakthi ho….
Riya: aap kuch nahi samajhte Sir…mere liye kitna mushkil hoti hai jab aise….[her words trail off while he continues]
Arjun: I know….main tumaare dard ko kabhi nahi samajh paavunga….but I promise….jo bhi ho main tumaare saat humesha kadaa rehunga…harr khadham parr tumaari saath dhoonga….[pausing and adds]…aur raha sawal case ka….Ek aam ladki ke tarah nahi balkhe ek zimmedhaar ETF officer ke tarah socho….tab tum khud samjhogi ke maine jo kiya wahi sahi tha…..
Riya stared into his face for a few seconds and then nodded…."yeah he was right!" she said to herself as she nodded….."hmmm shaayad aap sahi ho…."
Arjun smiled and his fingers automatically stretched to her eyes and brushed away her tears….he felt an urge to kiss those pearl like tears away….she looked like an innocent cute kid when she cried like that…..
He pulled her face closer to himself and pecked her forehead and then her wet cheeks brushing off the fresh tears which rolled down…
he lingered there for a few more moments not willing to move away from her...those close moments were precious to him which he would treasure forever!
She didn't seem to be affected by those gestures of his as she didn't try to pull away as well..
He patted her consolingly once before he took his hands off her unwillingly…..
He started the car and steered towards her place….As if realizing what he had just done, she lowered her gaze and remained silent for the remaining drive…..now the silence was comforting and their hearts did the talking….
He could see that whatever and however, she refuted and refused to accept, a part of her still loved him deeply, truly….
Her silence, her tear filled eyes, her lowered gaze and every inch of her spoke volumes about her love for him….
