Episode 18B: A sweet tit for tat...

Arjun had given Riya a whole week to herself so that she would let go of her impulsive anger and ego….then he landed at her place to get her back!

Suddenly, he spoke up stopping his massage…."Riya, ghar kab waapas aa rahi ho?"

She opened her eyes and looked straight into his…..for the first time, after stepping into her home, she felt such an intense serious emotion in his eyes and a stern tone in his question!

She straightened her clothes quickly and stared back at him trying to judge what was going on in his mind…..He edged closer to her and cupped her face making her look into his eyes

"Riya…yeh sab bacchpana chodh dho….aur mere saath ghar chalo…"

Riya couldn't get out of his hold and she stayed as if mesmerized by him for a few seconds…..She speaks out looking away from him "Arjun, maine already kaha na….yeh possible nahi hai…..mere mann ke confusions khatam hone tak main aap ke saat…"

Arjun snaps her short moving closer to her," tumaare saare confusions main sort out karunga….just come with me…."

Riya: jab confusions ke reason aap ho…phir kaise sort karenge, huh??…..anyways, forget it….you will never understand!

Arjun: main samajhtha hoom Riya…I know all your troubles….tum Reshma ke baare mein confused ho na?

Riya is stunned at that…..she hadn't thought that her husband would connect the dots and know the truth so quickly….."so, you have found the reason?"

He nodded and continued "bohat kuch kehna hai tumse….parr yahan nahi…waapas jaakhe sab.."

She snaps him "kya bathaayenge?? Apne taraf ke justifications denge, right?? I don't want to hear that Arjun……meri di ki zindagi cheena hai aapne…..I can never forget that nor forgive you!"

Arjun dragged her closer "ek baar sun toh lo ke main kya kehna chahtha hoom…"

Riya frees herself "mujhe kuch nahi sunna Arjun….aap mujhe apne charms dikhaake attract karne ke khoshish mein hai…..its true that I had loved you once…par ab nahi…..I cant love the person who spoiled my di's life…..no never….just go from here Arjun….just go!"

Saying that she got up…though her knees hurt a lot, she hid the pain and sprinted out of the room….

Arjun was totally annoyed and irritated at her erratic behavior……He also gets ready and storms out of the room…out of the house….without informing anyone!

A day before, Mumbai….

ETF:

Gauri sees that Shree is lost in deep thoughts and decides to speak to him…..

"Kya hua tech expert ko?? Technology se pareshan ho ya insaanon se???"

Shree's thoughts broke by her voice and he looked at her……a cute smile cropped up in his lips automatically seeing her pretty face before him….."kuch nahi yaar….bas aise hi kuch soch mein tha?"

Gauri: tum kitna jhoot bolne lage ho Shree…..i mean pehle bhi bolte teh but it always sounded convincing par ab nahi…..saaf saaf jhoot dikh raha hai…..

Shree smiled again thinking "how well she had got to know him and his moods?"

He spoke up "tumse jhoot nahi bol saktha…isiliye shaayad…"

Gauri: toh bathao baat kya hai?

Shree spoke up after a slight hesitation…"woh Riya apne maa ke ghar gayi hai…..its already a week now and she isn't back yet…..bhai bhi pareshan hai aur kal shaam woh bhi Darjeeling gaye hai…..[pausing]….i don't understand Riya at all……..kuch problem hai toh solve karna chahiye na….but she is running away from it and causing more problems…..I don't what's her problem with bhai…..woh itne acche hai aur…"

Gauri: pati patni hai…..problems toh aathe jaathe rehnge….tum tension matth lo…..its will all be fine! [She pats on his hands assuringly]

Shree: nahi Gauri…..problem itni bhi choti nahi hai…..its bigger than it seems….mujhe patha hota toh kuch help kartha…par koyi kuch nahi keh raha…..Sam bhai bhi pareshan hai…..but one happy thing among all this is that Sam bhai aur Arjun bhai phir se dhost hogaye….[pausing] that was another big surprise for me….I don't know what had happened between them in the past or now….kyun bichade aur ab kaise patch up kiye….sab ek riddle ki tarah hai!

Gauri: chalo, ek pareshani kam hogayi na? so chill….aur Riya di aur Arjun bhai keliye, agar tum kuch karna chahte ho toh pehle unke beech ke problem ko samjho….I mean find why Riya di is angry!

Shree: unke life mein trespass karna teek rahega kya??

Gauri: don't worry….trespass nahi kar rahe ho……paani sarr se uphar jaane se rokh rahe ho….I don't see a harm if you make an attempt for that!

Shree nods and cups her hands in his palm "thanks Gauri….tumse baat karke kuch halkha feel kar raha hoom…thanks!"

Gauri smiled back "anytime Shree…"

Present….

It was lunch time and Arjun hadn't returned yet…..All at home are worried…..Riya's mom keeps pestering her with questions about where Arjun was and what happened between them…

Riya keeps her replies to the barest minimum and tries to avoid speaking to anyone at home….

She shuts the door of her room and stands on the balcony for a long time….She was worried for Arjun too…..Where was he and why wasn't he picking calls? She had made calls to his number and he was cutting them continuously…then the phone was switched off….

She knew she had spoken a bit too much…afterall he was her husband and she had to pay heed to him…..She could see his love and care for her…..and what had she given back? She felt truly apologetic…..She even decided to put all the past to rest and start afresh……She would give them both another chance…..She would forget the past as a bad dream! Though it was difficult, she would make an attempt!

That same moment, she got a call from her best friend Shree…..She didn't have the mood to speak to him but then decided against it and took the call "hello Shree.."

Shree: kaise ho dimpy?

Riya: hmmm teek hoom…

Shree: but u know what? Hum mein se koyi bhi teek nahi hai

Riya: I know ke tum ghussa ho…..but I do….

Shree: tumaare reasons mujhe patha hai Riya…..and I understand your mind state…..parr haan, I can never accept what you are doing now…you are trying to run away from the real problems Riya……chalo teek hai, bhai se nahi keh sakthi….parr mujh se toh share karthi…..we would have found the solution na? iss tarah sab kuch chodh ke jaane ki zaroorat kya thi??….aur woh bhi jab bhai ki koyi galthi hi nahi hai tab!

Riya: tum jaanthe ho tumaare bhai ne kya kiya hai?

Shree: main jaantha hoom ke bhai ne kya nahi kiya hai aur yeh bhi ki tum ulta samajhthi ho…..

Riya: matlab??

Shree had found out the truth and also confronted Sameer and understood the entire picture……He tells everything to Riya who was growing guilty by each passing second…..she couldn't hate Sameer also now…..

Destiny had indeed played a cruel game in all their lives…..She couldn't blame anyone…..

But she had played too far with Arjun's emotions without knowing the truth…..though she wasn't at fault fully, she had to apologize….She cuts the call assuring Shree that she would sort the problems and come back ti Mumbai with his Arjun bhai very soon!

She waited and waited but he didn't return till night….He told everyone that some work had come up urgently and he had go to the police head quarters…….he has a quick dinner and came to the room directly….thrughout the dinner, he avoids even eye contacts with her….She was dying to speak to him but he wasn't giving her a chance……"what more could she ever say!" he said to himself as he stood in the balcony gazing the sky and the stars…..She gathered up courage and went to the room determined to apologize to him…..She saw him in the balcony and walked towards him…..

He could feel her presence behind him……but he didn't turn to her direction…it was high time he stopped going to her…..this time, she had to take that step forward……He was determined in that……

Riya came and stood by his side…she coughed to grab his attention…when he didn't respond, she spoke up slowly…."Arjun…..I am sorry…aap subah mujhse keh sakthe teh na?"

Arjun was confused with what she was meaning "matlab?"

Riya: shree ne call kiya tha….he told me everything….he told me about Sameer.

Arjun: [sarcastically] ohh…so isiliye maafi maang rahi ho, huh?

Riya: nahi….usse pehle hi main aapse…..

Arjun: tell me this….kab tak aise hi karogi tum?? Mujhe galat samajhna, mujhpar trust na karna…..phir ek sorry kehke sab bhool jaana…..kab tak Riya?? Aren't you tired?

Riya: mujhe patha hai…..I act impulsively….poore sach jaane behair judge karthi hoom aur sab ko hurt karthi hoom…..[looking at him apologetically] especially you Arjun! Par aap jaanthe hai na main kitne badi confusion mein thi…..kuch samajh nahi aa raha tha…kya karum? Kya na karum?

Arjun: [raising his eyebrows and trying to scrutinize her] kya ab sab kuch samajh aa raha hai? ab tumaare saare confusions khatam hogayi,huh??

Riya: hmmm….

Arjun: sirf "hmmm" kehne se kuch nahi hoga….ab humaare rishte ko naye seere se shuru karna hai…..hum dono ke beech atoot vishwas hona chahiye…..And I should be fully convinced that you have accepted me as your husband and u trust me whole heartedly…..All that will only come with [stops and looks at her]

Riya: [anxiously] with what?? What should I do? I will do everything that takes to work it out…..

Arjun: main seedhe point pe aatha hoom….I want to take our relationship one step further….matlab, I want you to be mine….I know you love me….and I don't doubt that love…..but I wish to make you my wife with your consent…..[lifting her chin to face him] tum samjhi ya main aur samjhaavum?

Riya: [blushing and lowering her head] hmmm

Arjun: [winks at her naughtily] phir teek hai…..get ready to become Mrs Arjun Rawte……[grins and lightly pats her pick cheek] ab, jaakhe apne pati dev keliye ek glass gharma gharm dhoodh le aavo….

Riya smiles and goes out to bring him the milk!

As she brings the milk back, she sees him on his side of the bed…..He gets up and drinks the milk without offering her…..then comfortably lies down…..

She waits for a while and then sits on the bed, wondering why he wasn't taking any initiative...and his cold reaction confused her…..She lay down confused and turns to his side expecting him to pull her closer but he didn't do any of those….

Instead, he leans to her forehead, pecks her lightly, smiles and voices out romantically "good night Riya…."

And switches off the lights casually leaving her annoyed…..

Arjun's POV: sweetheart, tumne mujhe bohat tadhpaaya hai….ab ek chance toh mujhe bhi milna chahiye na? its fair enough!

He grins and turns to the opposite direction…..
