Three weeks of Saraswatichandra are over and we have now seen all the key characters of the Desai parivar and the Vyas family - the DeVys of SC

Here is summarizing what so far we have seen of the people in the land of Saraswatichandra

Dubai ke Vyas

1. Lakshminandan Vyas - rich, flamboyant business tycoon, seems quite fond of his trophy wife, seems to have not cared much about his first wife.

He does not understand or appreciate Saras and his beliefs, but since he chose kumudsundari for Saras, who shares the same roots as Saras, and not some Dubai ki babe, maybe he understands his son better than we give him credit for.

Played by : Chetan Pandit

Actor rating - 6/10 - he looks the part, plays it well

2. Guman Vyas - Gumaan means ego, pride - I guess this is where her name comes from. She was a lowly dancer, who trapped the rich aging tycoon, probably was instrumental in his wife's suicide.

Pretends affection for Saras, and has very smartly encouraged him to turn into an ascetic, so that the business empire goes to her hitherto unseen son Danny.

Saras while treating her with deference and respect, does not seem to give her the place of his mother.

Played by : Monica Bedi

Actor rating - 7/10 - she looks stunning and hateful,
a bit cliched in her portrayal, but good nonetheless.

3. The wicked sister - she crops up anywhere like bhatakti aatma. She is the Manthara in this story, has a sharp acid tongue, and does not allow Guman to forget her lowly aukat.

Played by -

Actor rating : 7/10 - I hate her onscreen, which I guess means that she is pretty good

4. Sunny - the goofy, good natured friend of Saras, what will his role emerge - will he rise to be NK like, or be a wallpaper like Akash, remains to be seen.

Played by - Anirudh Singh

Actor rating - 6/10 - passably good, reasonably good looking, could do better

5. Saraswati - the mother of Saraswatichandra, a good woman who gave him strong values, and also made him promise to always obey and respect his father.

She knew of her husband's indifference to his son, but shielded Saras from it.

What made her take the ultimate step that has deeply scarred her beloved son so badly?

I hope the reason was strong enough...

Played by -

Actor rating -

5. Saraswatichandra - so attached to his mother that he prefers to be called by her name.

A man deeply religious, and is bound by a promise to his mother to always obey his father.

A person of strong ethics he's deeply compassionate and cares about those more unfortunate than him.

He has good business acumen, but also has his heart in the right place.

He thought his fathers cold heartedness had killed his ability to love

but the spunky, audacious and arrogant Kumudsundari whose voice intrigued him and challenged him to come to Ratnanagri, is slowly creeping into his heart.

Played by : Gautam Rode

Actor rating - 8/10 - in a short span of 3 weeks we have seen him

1. Shirtless, in Indian wear, in formal suits, jeans - the man looks good in everything

2. Smile, cry, angry, emotional, romantic, cold and distant, curious - can hardly find fault with his expressions.

Gauti as Saras - damn good!

achcha , now this post is becoming annoyingly long, so lets meet the Desais of DeVy later!

Do like and comment, agree, disagree, and

Njoy!!!

Great synopsis. How about Kumud though?

As for Gautam, I would rate him a 9.5 personally.

The post was getting too long, so the Desais would be in the next post.

9.5 - personally, I think there's a lot more to come, he has been good in the last week, but was a bit blank acc to me in the first week.

so I am putting him at 8 now, but he'll get to 10, he's very good, its early days yet.

I agree with all your ratings by my bias would make me rate Gautam a little higher😳

Monica Bedi plays the vamp well. Her hubby shouldnt converse in English. It sounds baaad!😆 The guy who plays Sunny is doing a decent job, just needs to tighten up a bit.

Waiting for the more perfect GR 😉 I agree about his dad the way he says Congratulations, in a peculiar accent but I think he is still too attached to his home town as you said 😆
