The biggest difference in the story so far is that Saras rejected Kumud's proposal. In the book, they fall in love through letters. In the show, they are not even at the point of falling in love ... they need a bit more time.

I'm pretty sure we can trust SLB. He modified the story so far to SUCH a great extent now and I have faith in the story.

I am new to this site. I really appreciate the story. I started to watch this only because of SLB production. I am sure he will bring a new twist to the original classic. I am looking forward to see how it will progress. Thanks once again. take care.

there is a reason why this is called mukkamal mohabbat ki adhoori daastaan..
tragedies have their own charm. That's the reason this novel has become famous. (devdas is another example of this category).
however this is 21st century and separation would be illogical.
Fingers crossed.
hoping for samud reunion in the show.

Sanjay Bhansali should not have kept name Sarsvati Chandra.
Thik hai story ko modern bana lo per character ko Kahe ko mar dalte bhai.
Kumud ka character ka satayanash Kar Dala. Kumud was shy, very educated and very nice character. Not babli character at all. Now kusum would have send Sarsavati Chandra to talav to get patang. In sarasvati Chandra kumud was so delicate like Najuk Kali. Aare modern ladkiya bhi kumud ki tarah shy hoti hai. Chemistry is very good, but surely classic novel ke naam pe TRP lane ka Bahut hi bura idea. I like classic novel so I was so hopeful that mr. Bhansali will keep character like they are in the novel. Archa hota agar naam Diya hota hum dil de chuke sanam. I do apologize to those who feels that I am bashing but I am writing this post of the frustration. Very disappointed.
