I so agree with you, Saras running behind Kumud but had the same goal of catching the kite, Saras taking the challenge for Kumud, him taking the kite with him despite the most painful site he was reminded of...also notice how right after Dukhbaa consoled him, the first person he remembered was Kumud even though it was her challenge he remembered...these all are the symbolism what they will go through together in the future.
