Bollywood has always welcomed newcomers with open arms whether it was Shah Rukh Khan, Manoj Bajpai, Vidya Balan but only few of them could make it big. But these actors didn't lose hope and tried their luck on TV and what Bollywood could not give them, small screen offered these actors. They are currently the big names of Television. Here we list down Top 10 Bollywood-flop-TV-hit-actors.
Despite being from a film family, Ayub Khan, nephew of yesteryear's superstar Dilip Kumar, Ayub Khan could not make big in Bollywood. The actor did films like Salaami, Salma Pe Dil Aagaya failed to win viewers hearts as a Bollywood. The actor is more popular actor and a familiar face on TV.
Ronit Roy, is one of the highest paid and respected actors on TV but the actor first made his acting debut in Bollywood film Jaan Tere Naam. After doing couple of unsuccessful films, Ronit moved to the small screen and did some popular roles like Mihir Virani from Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi bahu Thi, Rishabh Bajaj from Kasauti Zindagi Kay.
Avinash Wadhwan, today plays the role of father to small screen's popular heroes who are approximately of his age. Before joining TV industry, the actor did lead roles with some of the top actresses of his time like Divya Bharathi, Pooja Bhatt but his destiny did not support him and he also chose television to pursue his acting career.
Vivek Mushran saw an overnight popularity and suddenly became popular as the ILU ILU boy in Bollywood but after three four flop films Vivek disappeared from Bollywood. After some years the actor was then seen on small screen in a fiction show Son Pari and since then he has done many shows. Rupaly Ganguly became famous as a lower middle class daughter-in-law Monisha Sarabhai in Tv series Sarabhai VS Sarabhai but only few people know that the actress before coming to television tried her hands in Bollywood.
Eva Grover also tried her luck in Indian Film Industry as the female lead in many Hindi Films but after she could not achieve success, the actress turned to TV. The actress became popular as Niharika in TV serial Bade Achhe Lagte Hain where she played the mother of Ram Kapoor who is her of age.
Ashif Sheikh who is mostly seen in comedy TV series was launched in a romantic film in Bollywood. His song from Bin Tere Sanam is still considered as one of the best romantic song. After an unsuccessful film career Ashif made big with comedy TV series Yes Boss.
The list will be incomplete without Shekhar Suman, after not so successful career in Bollywood the actor has tried hands in television shows and has done variety of roles. From being a judge on comedy shows, to hosting shows the actor has come a long way. But the turning point of his career was Dekh Bhai Dekh.
