As the time comes closer for the curtains to fall, I really feel the need to acknowledge the two people who have together made this show the best thing I have watched in television for quite a while. Personally, the only reason I began watching Parichay was because of Kunal and Siddhi, and how ridiculously perfect these two, imperfect characters looked together. The strong willed, honest yet arrogant Kunal, the sweet, innocent yet stubborn Siddhi started off as two very different people on very different paths with no desire or inclination towards each other but eventually found themselves walking down the same road side by side.
No matter what, I have always loved the progression of Kunal and Siddhi's story, so many fine moments and so many little things that really made their journey heart-warming and endearing to watch 😊 - the way they always found something to bicker over cutely, the way they tried to one-up each other, the way they argued over each other's flaws, the way they eventually learnt to recognize the person that existed beneath the external persona, the way they began to appreciate and adore each other's good qualities, the way they became each other's silent support in tough times and the voice of reason in times of need, and finally the way they came to accept and unremittingly love each other. They made us laugh, cry, smile, and even tear our hair out during some maddening tracks and scenes (which were quite a few 😛😆) but ultimately they made us fall in love with them. I think there was something very special about their story and it will always be so.
Not taking away credit from the people who directed, wrote and compiled some exceptional scenes and tracks for them, but I do believe that Samir and Keerti truly contributed to the success of the show by adopting the characteristics of Kunal and Siddhi, respectively, so well and bringing to life those scenes, those dialogues which are merely words on a page, if you really think about it. For me, it was never about JUST Kunal or JUST Siddhi, it was always about them TOGETHER 😊. Together they have given us such incredibly memorable scenes and moments that it is hard to contemplate what the show would have been without either of them. I don't know if I speak for everyone, but for me, the only thing to look forward to in every episode was seeing Kunal and Siddhi together, and no matter how ostentatiously annoying their kids and respective families were after the leap, I always found the motivation to watch every episode only to see Samir and Keerti onscreen together. A single scene of theirs made the entire episode worth sitting through. Regardless of how lousy a track was, they made it work and this is only because they were in it together.
I'll be brutally honest, but I simply could not care less for any other character on this show, apart from Kunal and Siddhi. They've made the best tracks truly worth watching and they've even made the worst of worst tracks bearable. The only reason this show has sustained for however long it has, is only due to Samir and Keerti's presence and the fact that they look absolutely picture perfect together 😃. They've entertained us continuously for almost 2 years now and I really have to appreciate them for sticking by the show through thick and thin and even toiling through some of the most horrible tracks in the show despite their personal dislike or frustration. Both of them have been so incredibly committed to the show, having worked even when both of them were suffering from severe injuries at different points of time. It is funny how engrossed we become in a show and how connected we feel to characters or even actors in a show. We fought for them, with them and at times even against them 😛. There were so many periods of pure frustration with either Kunal or Siddhi for several reasons, but I am so glad that eventually, they are together and all our begging, pleading and arguing for them worked 😃. Parichay is probably the first (and I am assuming the last 😛) Ekta Kapoor show were I have so deeply connected with the leads and the way they came together.
Samir and Keerti have sincerely done a commendable job 👍🏼 Keerti has truly flourished from being a newcomer to becoming an amazingly competent actress and Samir has truly embraced his not-so-typical-herolike character and given his 100% in not just playing a role but also keeping track of audience feedback and trying his best to adhere to their desires. Keeping the show aside, from whatever off-screen segments have been aired, I do believe that both Samir and Keerti are lovely individuals and here's hoping that they forever remain this way. They have done a beautiful job in giving us the SiNal we have come to love, adore and cherish ❤️
So, I end with a big THANK YOU to both Samir and Keerti for giving us something so honest and so beautiful. Will miss them terribly :( I would really love to see them together again but until then, I hope they find happiness, health and prosperity in wherever they go and whatever they pursue.
And to now finally end this long winded tale with a smile, I compiled a small video to commemorate some of the best SiNal moments and to say Thank You to Samir and Keerti for all their hard work and for together making Kunal & Siddhi so very special and perfect 🤗
