I believe very few music oriented movies will stand the test of time as a movie...not just the songs...I am not talking about the movie in General.

Like I believe Kuch Kuch hota hai the movie will not stand the test of time...but Hum aapke Hain kaun will...

however I think Rangeela will be a cult forever...It signifies the origin of genius called Rahman...Bollywood opening to sexuality...Urmila oozing sexuality with class and confidence...RGV the maverick saying Hai to bollywood...Even the way songs are picturized...

Aamir Khan the star almost playing second fiddle to Urmila...where mainstream stars slowly opened up to playing characters as important as others in the movie...

I remember Urmila was literally a walking Wet dream in those days...I think no one have taken a nation by shock and storm like she did for a couple of yrs with Rangeela as she did...

Realistic Dialogues also add to the movie staying relevent for ages to come...

The way Classical Indian music is used to induce eroticism..and passion is just Genius from Rahman..in the below song...

haha...brilliant scene !!!! Whatever little RGV did with humour in his career..they are all class..Kshanakshnam, anaganagana oka roju, Money(Telugu)..

Test of time?

Its barely remembered today.

The film starts out well and loses focus mid-way and turns into a generic love story. The only thing to take home from this flick was Aamir's brilliant acting and a couple of well written songs.

I much prefer RGV's Naach.Similar script, much better execution.

Not on Daily basis I mean...I mean if people pick up the movie 10 yrs from now...I think they would still enjoy the movie and will be in sync with the emotions and enjoy the taking

Yaa..I find Naach and Nishabd,...incredibly incredibly under rated ...both of them have a genuine touch of a genius in few scenes...

Especially Nishabd is really under rated...the movie is actually very good !!

Rahman actually has a lot of music from the 90's that has stood the test of time & will even later.

Roja, Bombay, Dil Se, Taal, Rangeela. Dil Se is especially his crowning jewel IMHO :)

As for Rangeela the film itself, I LOVED it as a kid but I haven't seen it in years now so not sure how I feel about it anymore.
