Chapter 3
Rey on the other end of the phone, waiting for Taani's reply
Rey: Taani?? Tu ayegi na?
Taani: (all tensed, suddenly an idea stikes her mind, her tone changes, )wo..wo kya? Panchi?? Haan haan use milne hai??
Rey: (confused) Panchi?? Maine Panchi ka naam bhi nai liya!
Taani: (still continues) oohh acha tuje Panchi ko milna hai?? Thik hai, yuvi ko bhi? Thik hai.. agar tu itna force kar raha hai toh main ati hu.
Rey: Taani Tuje extra sunai deta hai kya? Pehle Panchi abhi Yuvi. Whats wrong with you? Jo bhi hai, I'll see you later, main nikaltu hu abhi.(disconnects the call)
Taani smiling at Panchi. Panchi all confused.
Panchi: Kya hua? Rey muje milna chahta hai?
Taani: haan, Tuje Yuvi ko aur ab Yuvi jaa raha hai to main b jaunngi. Ok.. Main ready hoti hu. (runs from there)
Panchi(to herself)aap kise bewakoof bana rahe ho di?? aap Yuvi k saath hoke bhi uske ke saath nai ho. Aur ye ab apko realize nahi ho raha hai. Lekin main ye apko realize karake rahungi. Ye mera waada hai apse!
Scene Shifts
Taani on her bike and Panchi on her back seat reaches the place where Rey was supposed to meet . Rey and Yuvraj waiting for them.
Yuvi: Taani? Tu bhi aane wali thi? Bataya kyu nai? Main pick karta dono ko,
Panchi looks at Taani.
Taani: (looks at Panchi from the corner of her eyes and then looks at Yuvi) aare wo Rey tumse milna chahta tha toh, toh muje laga tum late aoge, aur Panchi ko colege jana tha toh use drop bhi toh karna hai. Toh main jaldi aa gayi.
Panchi looks at Taani and gives "tumhara kya hoga look" and then looks at Rey
Panchi: Rey, all the best, aaj tumhara first rehersal hai. So, do well.
Rey: Thanx moti.
Panchi: ok Taani di, main nikalti hu, aap tino baatein karo,(They all say bye and she turns to leave when a girl calls out to her)
Girl: Panchi???
Panchi turns and gets surprised seeing her,
Panchi: (excited) Oh My God!! Kiya!!!!Tum yaha??
Kiya: (happily) I don't believe this!! Tum bhi yaha select hui ho! Tum dance bhi karti ho? Kabhi bataya nahi?
Before Panchi could say something Yuvraj starts laughing.
Yuvi: Dance? Aur ye moti?? (laughs again)
Taani hits his arm and signals him to stop..Kiya looks at them and gives a confused look.
Panchi: Ignore him Kiya! And by the way, yaha dance main nahi mera friend Rey karne wala hai. (points out to Rey)
Kiya: Hiee, so I have company here, nervous thi ki 1st day ko pata nahi koi friends banege bhi ya nahi. But m happy ki andar jane se pehle hi I met you. ( forwards her hand for a hand shake) Hiee, am Kiya Gujral.
Rey: (smiles and moves his hand forward) Hiee, am Reyansh.
Both be's smiling and start discussing about the formalities. Panchi leaves for her college.Taani and Yuvi standing there just listening to them. After some time even Yuvraj joins then and all 3 start laughing and giggling. Taani just smiling as she is not part of their conversation. After 15 minutes of chit chatting,
Kiya: Guys I think we should get in, what say Rey? Shall we leave?
On hearing Kiya calling Rey as "Rey" Taani stares at her surprised waiting for Rey's reaction. Rey smiles.
Rey: Yea we should, Chal ok guys hum andar jate hai. bye (Kiya and Rey walk in)
Taani surprised just looks at Rey and Kiya walkin in. Yuvi smiles and starts walking towards his jeep.
Taani: (irritated)Yuvi? Suna tune?? Usne Rey ko Rey kaha!
Yuvi: (confused) Toh Rey ko Rey nahi kahigi toh kya Hrithik Roshan kahegi? Kya ajeeb hai tu Taani.
Taani: (pointing her index finger to him)Yuvi, Rey ko Rey sirf hum bulate hai. Uske friends.. aur Rey uske saath chala bhi gaya, maine toh use all the best wish bhi nahi kiya tha! Sab us Kiya k wajah se!
Yuvi: toh ab wo dono bhi toh friends huye! Aur tune usko all the best wish nahi kiya isme us bichari Kiya ki kya galti hai? Usne thodi na tere muh pe patti bandh li thi?
Taani: (keeping both her hands on her waist, majorly annoyed) Bichari?? Wo bichari hai? Main Rey ko humesha Hug karke all the best wish karti hu..aur aaj uski wajah se Rey gadbadi me chala gaya aur main usko wish nahi kar payi. Aur upar se wo bichari hai?
Yuvi: (helpless, joins his hands and begs) Nahi meri amma, wo bichara nahi, bichara toh main hu, jo most of the time tere gusse ka shikar ban jata hu, muje baksh de, muje jane de, please, muje na mere papaji ki factory mein dimag ki zarurat hai, please mere dimag ko kha mat!
Taani: (annoyed) acha, Ab main tumhara dimag khati hu, (starts hitting yuvi on his arms, just then Rey comes running from behind)
Rey: (running out of breath)Thank God tum dono gaye nahi!! Taani, (breathing heavily) jadu k jhapi de.
Yuvi: jaa abhi, nahi toh Rey agar wapus se gaya toh tab uss bichari Kiya pe inzam dal rahi thi, ab shayad mujpe dalegi,
Taani looks at Rey and smiles , she feels happy that her wishes still matter to him, she happily hugs him
Taani: all the best.
Yuvi (hugs both of them): All the best mere sheer!!!
They all break their hug and Rey runs back in. Taani now smiling and Yuvi sits in his jeep. Just then Taani remembers Panchi's words that shez ignoring Yuvraj. She immediately turns and calls him,
Taani: Yuvi, wo aaj hum dono lunch karne chale?
Yuvi: (surprised)lunch?? You mean to say date??
Taani: (nervous) aisa hi kuch..(looks here and there)
Yuvi: (starts laughing) chal thik hai, main tuje 1 baje pick karne aa jaunga. (starts his jeep and leaves)

It was afternoon 12:30, Yuvi in his office,
Yuvi: Papaji please, ek ghante mein wapus aa jaunga, abhi saare employees ka lunch break hai. Kisko supervise karu? Please papaji.
Yuvi's dad: Tumhare ek ghante ka matlab main ache se samajta hu Yuvraj! Rey k saath koi vella panti karne ki suj rahi hogi tumhe. Kitni baar kaha hai ki apne level k logo k saath utha baitha karo ! par nahi, tumhe un garibo k saath hi gumna hai. (Yuvi shuts in eyes controlling his anger, but his father still continues), abhi bhi waqt hai apne dost badal lo Yuvraj, Ye garib log sirf tumhari achayi ka faida uthana jante hai! Tume pata bhi nai chalega ki kab aur kaise wo tumhara istamal kar rahe honge.
That's it, Yuvi couldn't take it anymore.
Yuvi: (angrily)Pehli baat, Main dost unki status ya bank balance dekh ke nahi banata, Muje koi farak nahi padta ki wo aamir hai ya garib, Rey aur Taani paiso se garib kyu na ho, par dil se wo bohot amir hai, par ye aap kabhi nahi samjege, kyunki apko insan nahi sirf paisa dikhta hai.
Yuvi's dad: (angrily) Yuvraj!!
Yuvi still continues: Aur dusri baat papaji, Rey aur Taani ko aap pehchante zaroor hai, par main unhe janta hu, wo muje kabhi bhi koi dhoka nahi denge. Aare faida nuksan ye sab dosti me nahi dekha jata!! Ye shabd both bade hai..iska istamal sirf business mein ki jati hai, dosti me nahi, par aap nhai samjoge, apko toh sirf business sambhalna ata hai, dosti nahi.!
Yuvraj's father gets very angry seeing Yuvraj standing against him for his friends. He could nt take it. He gives Yuvraj a tight slap for back answering him. Yuvraj still not regretting a word he said just walks out. Yuvraj's father doesn't stop him.

Taani at home in the kitchen,She looks at the clock, it was 1 o clock already, she packed lunch for her uncle (Panchi's dad) who was a teacher in a school in Amritsar, She always takes food for him, as after her father's death, he is the one who took care of her, he was like a father figure to her, admist all of this , she actually forgot about her lunch date with Yuvi, She gets ready, and starts her scooty and reaches to her uncles's school.
Yuvraj on the other side reaches outside Taani's home all upset with what happened in the office, he starts honking.

Yuvi: (smiling) Propose bhi nai kar pa raha tha usko!! Yaad hai kaise propose kia usko?? (starts laughing)
Rey: Main kaise bhul sakta hu? Tu itna dara hua tha!! Itni mehnat ki thi maine tere liye!!!
