I know this is fiction and I read too much into it.for what I am about to say will earn mein more brick bats than bouquets..
Women are indeed their own worst enemy... am unsure if its women who have posted the thread and the subsequently replies... why are you worried about the male perspective about why a man has his arms around Madhu's waist?
Even in the story, why should RK's feelings be given importance. Isn't it obvious he would be outraged? But what mystifies me is why are people on the forum talking about it.
Even if RK wasn't in the picture, why should it matter to anyone about what any man would think about Madhu if she is allowing someone to have his arms around her.
What were men at the sets thinking about Madhu when she agreed to marry RK and then proceeded with that sham of an extremely humiliating wedding?
That she was "bechari"?? Sorry, it runs deeper than that. Most men would think, oh! see that's why women are the feeble ones. beyond a point they shall cave in.. All that courage, gender equality will mean nothing because under pressure they shall bend and break.
Coming to RK's assumptions, as a fiction, he deserves to a tight slap across his face for second guessing Madhu's intentions or actions. he has no right to. No man has the right to do that. If you brand me a s**t because I have men with arms on my waist, well, screw you.
As a reality, women should sub consciously believe that if they collectively bitch about their own kind, its an easy way out for men to wrong women and then say, hey look its not about us..she had coming...even women say so...
Change doesn't come from candle light vigils or dharna's.. it comes from changing mindset...We are quick to blame men for all wrongs.. Of course the Indian men mentality needs an over haul, but what about women?? Don't do this to yourself.
Don't demean yourself... Don't ask what other men would think? Don't give fodder for men to pound women and get away with it...
