Refreshing take on Indian hero/male

I want to convey one thing through this serial SLB has shown a good take on an Indian hero who does not act like a hero on screen whether movie/serial.
Usually when we see movies/serials we see hero either arrogant of his wealth, position or the fact that he is a man and hence heroine cannot take him for granted. Its usually hero's pregative to show off(if people understand what i mean).
But here is an hero who is feeling guilty of saying "No" to a proposal and comes running from abroad to give his side of explanation to her family and her on why he rejected marriage proposal though he does not know them at all.
Secondly he is not acting like a rich foreign guest acts in reel/real life. He is acting like a normal human who has come to some relative/friends house. No show offs saying i want this/that or there is no current i want fan, mineral water etc no demands which usually foreign guests do especially rich ones. This shows he does not give importance to material things and money/status etc or shows off like other rich people. Also he is helping them in house work like drawing water from well like a family member/relative/friend would do if they stay in our house
It is refreshing to see an hero not act like an hero but a normal man after a long time. Also when he saved Kumud father again he did not overact/loud act just went in and saved him like a normal person/ fire fighter would do without too much overacting like a Indian hero.
Finally although he gets angry/irritated by Kumud (acting like a 5 year child for whom he did not get chocolates that she demanded) he keeps his cool. That is again rare in Indian heros who by now would have shouted/threatened heroine to behave and not overact because he said no to her proposal and that too after he saves her father's life risking his own.
But i guess director already showed Saras values all human life above his own like when he saved a small child in lake. So he does not consider saving Vidyachatur's life as some favour on kumud or her family.
Hence Saras is a new kind of hero who is a normal man on streets who does heroic things but does not expect people to treat him like a Indian hero is treated in movie/serial. That is a refreshing take on a Indian man from SLB and the author of Saraswathichandra.

I completely agree! I like how genuine he is and grounded. I love the first ep where he comes to his dad in his dothi etc. and is so spiritually grounded. He has a golden heart and I wish Kumud would understand his reasons behind saying no...
I feel bad he has to put up with her ultra-ego.

Felt bad when he was working hard at the well and burnt his hands :( poor saras

thats a very nice post

i too like the way they are projecting Saras

I like his coolness and his calm ways ...his father was right when he said he is sheetal like a moon ...yes he is...and Kumud is the fire like sun...she is short tempered and spontanious while Saras takes his time...

.I love such men and so do I love this character Saras

I completely agree! The way he has been portrayed has been so simple and normal, yet I feel there is this sense of pureness associated with his character.

When he saved Vidyachatur from the fire, there were no Dabangg style moments, which was extremely refreshing, and his actions are not given too much "bhav" in the sense that they are not considered ehsaans on the family, which is a nice change.
