Pyaar Toh Naam Hain, Sabr Ka Hum Dum,
Wohi Bhala Bolo Kaise Kare Hum,
Saavan Ki Raah Jaise Dekhe Mor Hain...
[Chand Chhupa Badal Mein...]

I specially wanted to write this for all those complaning about Kumud not showing her face. This is the question of her dignity. Any girl will be stuborn if a guy rejected her without even looking at her! And as she said today, his letter made her angry, not his rejection. He could have been nice!

And before you jump to say something against SaraswatiChandra (don't you dare!), let me remind you...he does regret not apologizing in the letter. He sent the letter as an impulsive decision..

So please have patience. Kumud will come over her anger as she sees Saras' BIG heart that Sunny mentioned of! 😆 I don't want this show ruined due to biased bashers!

I will quote Jennifer from one of her interviews on Kumud's character. She says '' Kumud is from a village but she thinks she is Miss World. She knows she is beautiful and she is proud of it but not in a wrong way. In her heart and mind she had accepted Saras as her soulmate when she saw that his eyes matched the one she saw in her dreams. The rejection from his side came as brutal shock, specially because reasons were not clear and he was unapologetic. She couldn't take it..which is why the already stubborn Kumud has become all the more stubborn.. She does not want to show him her face yet she finds herself sitting by his bedside fanning him..why? because she is attracted to him.. Probably that feeling is agitating her mind even more because she thinks its all one sided and eventually they can not be together.. hence she is being more adamant than usual.

Great post and much needed. I guess some viewers are not appreciating the intensity of such an action by Kumud. SLB is maestro in relaying his message via symbolism and he is doing the same for Kumud. Its not about showing her face..I mean what difference would it make to Saras with or without seeing her face? Looks was never an agenda for the marriage proposal neither it is for SuMud. They both accepted/rejected each other not based on looks so nothing! But here, by not showing her face, till date, is a way for Kumud to express her feelings towards the whole letter situation. As long as she keeps hiding her face from Saras, he knows that he has not yet been forgiven for his impulsive act! This is Kumud's stand off against Saras's immature and irresponsible way of handling such a delicate matter that involves her family! So unless Kumud forgives him, I don't think he deserves to see her face. And unless Saras sees her face, he should know that he has yet to be forgiven.

p.s. This is the beginning of a love story that will turn into a saga. Characters are being carefully established so that the future decisions that they make can be justified. So to all, let's just be patient. It will all make sense after few months 😊

@bold red- couldn't have said it better myself..Saras knew he had acted on impulse the moment he sent that letter. He was guilty to begin with and the skype conversation just confirmed it..yes he hurt the girl he knows that.. but not the extent of it..Yesterday he came to know that she had accepted the proposal even without looking at his face..Isnt that a big thing? hell yes! When she rubbed the haldi paste on his hand to answer his question about how hurt she was, he kinda got the idea that she is hurt much more than he thought she was..So now Saras has to earn her apology ..she is not gonna give it to him on a platter.. because she is Kumud and he knows it.

LOL...wow! Anyone who reads the BLUE part, they can see an image of Kumud in you! That's what it is all about. Dignity...stand off! There's the fear as well that when Saras will break the news to her family, a further damage is yet to come! Under these circumstances, is forgiveness something easy to serve??

You guys said it all! I always watch shows for entertainment, but my literally skills won't stop me from analyzing them. This show is so beautifully portrayed, I can feel it connect to the real world.

People say Kumud's character is tried to reflect Nandini in Hum DIl De Chuke Sanam. For one, Kumu isn't bubbly. She is happily joking with her Bapu doesn't mean she doesn't have a sense of seriousness. We can clearly see her maturity in the way she heads her family's dignity. She is stubborn and adamant, and honestly...that characteristic is what stand out in her.

Saras is wounded by the pain of his father's negligence and the loss of his mother. He is scared that love for him will be what his mother's fate was - ignorance, betrayal.

Yes, Saras' character needs to be developed, and I think they are waiting for the show to take a deeper turn. This is just a start of the show, and I think after they have managed to attract viewers, they will develop characters better.

And Kumud's stubborn behavior is well justified. If a guy rejects me without even looking at my face, I would be hurt. She had given herself away to him before he had even pronounced her name. The beauty of love she had felt was suddenly snatched away from her. Of course her dignity was tarnished, of course she was hurt! The words can't even describe the pain a girl's family in such stereotypical society has go through under such circumstances! All the society gets to say is Ladki mein hi kuch kami hogi!
