I think many people in this forum have noticed that Punar Vivah's recent track resembles Ramayan's Ayodhya Kand in many ways. It may or may not be inspired by it, but I am listing some of the similarities below to spur some discussion. What do you all think?

1. Both Shri Ram and Yash are great believers in upholding their promises and fulfilling their vows. There is a line from Shri Ramcharitmanas that describes the virtue of Shri Ram.
Raghukul Reeti Sada Chali Aayi
Praan Jaaye Par Vachan Na Jaaye
Translation: The tradition of the Raghu dynasty has always been to uphold one's vows, even at the cost of his life.
To honor his father's promises to his stepmother Kaikeyi, Shri Ram went on a 14-year vanvaas (exile) to the forests.
Similarly, to uphold his father's honor and the honor of his entire household, Yash has sacrificed his personal security and position in the household to make a place for his brother Akash. In doing so, he is honoring the promise he made to his biological mother Radha.
2. Shri Ram was separated from his mother Kaushalya because of Kaikeyi's deeds. Similarly, Yash is being distanced from his mother Gayatri because of Radha's old deeds.
3. Kaikeyi's ambitions to see her son Bharat succeed his father clouded her judgment and made her do injustice to Kaushalya's son. Radha's ambitions to see her son receive his rights clouded her judgment and made her to injustice to Gayatri's son.
4. Bua's words add fuel to Gayatri's insecurities, while Manthara's words had added fuel to Kaikeyi's insecurities. As a result, Gayatri distanced her son from her heart and similarly, Kaikeyi distanced her son from her heart.
5. Kaikeyi's son Bharat denounced her after finding out what she had done. Although we have not seen Akash-Radha interaction after the truth came out, we have seen that Akash was deeply hurt and angered by his mother's actions, which denied him the privileges he deserved since infancy. In the future, Akash may denounce Radha the way Bharat denounced Kaikeyi.
6. Sitaji had always been a pillar of support for Shri Ram. She renounced the privileges of the palace to follow her husband on his exile. Similarly, Aarti has always supported Yash in all his decisions. If he leaves the SM mansion, she will also follow him even if it means living in poverty.
Yash's highest ambition has always been to be truthful and just to everyone. That is why he has given a place at the SM to Akash despite being distanced from him for 30 years. Any normal man would reject Akash and continue to enjoy his privileges, but not Yash. He is ready to sacrifice his personal happiness to give Akash his rights.
Similarly, Shri Ram is the uplifter of the downtrodden. He renounced his kingdom and the throne of Ayodhya for the betterment of his younger brother, Bharat. His brothers' happiness means more to him than his happiness, and this is how Yash is. He has always gone out of his way to make Pankaj and Prateik happy, and now to respect Akash he has given him space in SM.
So what do you guys think? If our Yashu the modern avatar of Prabhu Shri Ram?😉

Janaki
excellent post. You certainly know your ramayana, and you have drawn out the parallels well.

If Ishita instigates Gayatri to favor Akash, then she would be Manthara!

Janaki excellent post. However I have to disagree "Yashu is NOT the modern avatar of Prabhu Shri Ram"
Although you have a list of similarities - Yash lacks the MOST ESSENTIAL quality.
Prabhu Shree Ram was eka-patni-vrata - or one-woman-principle that is mentally, physically, and emotionally he was devoutly attached to only one woman Sita all his life. There was no room for another.
Yash on the other hand has had one wife (Arpita) before Aarti and willingly sat with another Ishita at the wedding mandap and completed 4.5 pheras with her!!
So you see Yash is no way comparable to Prabhu Shree Ram

Yes, you are right anonee. Saying Yash is a modern avatar of Shri Ram is perhaps not accurate.😳 I was just listing the similarities between Ayodhya Kand of Ramayan and the current track of PV, but you're right that Yashu is not Eka Patnivrata like Shri Ram and that was one of Ramji's most essential qualities.
