FIR against Salman Khan for allegedly threatening fishermen

The local Bandra fishing community has recently filed three non-cognisable complaints against Salman Khan's bodyguards alleging that they have been repeatedly threatened to vacate the area which is on Chimbai beach in Bandra West.

The Kolis, who possess two cottages, filed the FIR complaint at the Bandra station on Saturday.
However, in contrast to the Kolis allegations, the actor's family has denied the charges and has claimed harassment by the fishing community.
In 2011, Salman Khan had bought two cottages Belle View and Benar; the East Indian and Maharashtrian Kolis, who dock their boats and fishing nets on Chimbai beach in front of those cottages, have claimed that the actor's bodyguards demanded an unblocked view of the sea, since the actor was the new owner of the cottages.
The Kolis said that they filed two non-cognisable complaints on September 15, 2011 and another on May 5, 2012 with the Bandra police.
A third complaint was filed on December 30, 2012, in which they alleged the bodyguards burnt their materials.
The Kolis have also alleged that three women, Elizabeth, Melinda and her daughter Cynthia have been assaulted for interfering. On Saturday, the Kolis along with a few key members of the area met with Vishwas Nangre-Patil, Additional Commissioner of police, to file an FIR, in which he asked them to come on Tuesday after investigating the matter.

Dabangg Salman Khan in fresh controversy for threatening fishermen in Mumbai

Salman Khan manages to court controversy rather often, whether deliberate or unintentional. As news of his stricter trial for the 2002 hit-and-run case makes news, the Dabangg star hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Now, a police complaint has been lodged against the actor which claimed that Salman Khan forcefully tried to evict a group of fishermen from the vicinity of his newly acquired sea facing cottages.

Several fishermen in Mumbai's Bandra locality has accused Bollywood star Salman Khan and his bodyguards of assaulting them.

Lawrence, who works as the lift operator in the building where Salman Khan stayed as a toddler, alleged that the actor's family regularly threatens him. Some of the fishermen claimed that Salman Khan's bodyguards had tried to set their fishing nets, boats and houses on fire.

They claim that when their women folks tried to resist the attackers, they were man-handled.

Salman Khan and his bodyguards accused by fisherman's family

A fisherman's family at suburban Bandra demanded filing an FIR against actor Salman Khan and his bodyguards for allegedly threatening them to shift their boats and fishing nets which were blocking sea view from the star's cottages.

Three complaints were made at the Bandra police station in September 2011 and in May and December last year, but instead of registering FIRs against the bodyguards and actor, police have registered only non-cognisable offences, the victim Lawrence Falcon (65) said.

Salman Khan had bought two cottages 'Belle View' and 'Benar' at Bandra's Chimbai area in 2011 and had barricades put up around them.

The fisherman's family, who park their boats and put up fishing nets on the beach, alleged that Khan's bodyguards started harassing them soon after he bought the property.

In a written complaint to Additional Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil's office, Falcon and his family claimed that the bodyguards asked them not to park their four boats or keep fishing nets on the beach as that would block the sea view from the star's cottages.

Falcon also alleged that the plastic sheets used to cover their boats began disappearing. He claimed one of the family members was assaulted by Khan's bodyguards.

Anil Joseph, chairperson of Perry Road Residents' Association, who is helping the family, told , "On Saturday, we met Nangre Patil and we gave in writing, demanding an FIR against the actor, his father and bodyguards. A copy of the complaint was delivered at the office of Nangre Patil".

Sources said Nangre Patil's office had received the copy and the Additional CP has asked the family to meet him again on Tuesday. Nangre and Salman Khan were not available for comments.
