It is episodes like these that make me totally baffled when I read posts about how the show has lost the original story-thread. Today's episode was so in touch with those early days of the PV, and is bringing all the issues that Aarti faced then in front of Yash now in a much more immediate and tangible way. This way Yash actually feels the pain that Aarti and Ansh went through when they first came into Scindia house and he was wrapped up in his own world, oblivious to what they were facing at the hands of his family. Today both Aarti and Ansh have become relatively desinsitised to Gayatri's temper and her irrational outbursts; they simply accept it as part of her personality, as Aarti mentioned. Sure, Ansh was shocked at the moment but from what we heard, he was also easily pacified by the news of a cricket match. When it comes to Gayatri, it looks like Aarti and Ansh have fallen into a pattern of dealing with her temperament, one that Yash was unaware of until today.
In short, this track with Akash is the grand closure of many open loops from the beginning of the show when Aarti and Ansh were called "paraya" and mistreated by the Scindias, without Yash even being remotely aware of just how much. The CVs could have gone about it in a direct and explicit way and had Yash actually find out about how Aarti and Ansh were treated, but they chose not to do that and instead brought in this whole track where Yash himself has to face the kind of disenfranchisement they did to fully understand what they went through. When Aarti was treated the way she was by his family for the divorce truth, he understood why she had been so scared to tell him the truth. This caused him to take a stand against his father of his own accord. Now the same is happening with Ansh's scenario, where Yash acutely experiences Ansh's pain at Gayatri's behaviour. He both realises how it feels to be treated like an unwanted stranger in the household, and understands the kind of pressure Aarti and Ansh were under when they came, with a similar ultimatum, which he has taken responsibility for, hanging over Akash's head.
On the other hand there is Gayatri, who reacts violently every time she feels she is losing control over a situation. When Aarti and Ansh entered the house, it was because they didn't follow any of her rules and made her look bad in front of her friends. Paridhi got away with this by keeping up appearances by hook or by crook. What Gayatri was always most scared of was her sons being hurt, be it in the form of Aarti ignoring Yash and the girls for Ansh, or Paridhi trying to make Prateek diet. Today is no different. However, in her bid to make her sons "happy" she forgets all boundaries of fairness and even age. Remember when she told Aarti that she would hurt her son because her son hurt Yash? It is the same here. She can't think of anything at that moment but that Ansh needs to suffer for what he did to her son, now Akash. Just like in the room-lock-up incident, she doesn't care whether the punishment has been dealt and the issue closed, she has to have her vengeance. Both times, Ansh was wrong and Aarti took swift disciplinary action and resolved the situation, and both times Gayatri dug it up again to exact her personal revenge on little Ansh. Today she didn't even realise what she was doing until she looked up at the rest of the family, so lost was she in her wave of emotions. In order to salvage her pride and dignity in front of SP, she is suppressing a lot of pain and anger, which is getting released in bursts on unsuspecting victims.
Finally, is it just me or is Bua actually mellowing down? It seems to me like the more others suffer they more she actually feels a kinship with them. What nobody else in the family except Aarti and Yash have been able to figure out, she communicated so succinctly. If you want to bring something new in, you have to make more room for it or something that was already there is going to be pushed out. She was also highly reasonable when she offered a constructive solution to Ansh, to go get Akash different clothes from his dad's wardrobe. I felt that she was actually bolstering Aarti's point and helping her resolve the tension, before Gayatri broke in with her tirade. I know Bua said she was only there to watch the fun, but why do I see her leaning her loyalties towards Aarti and Yash in spite of herself?
