As one of Bollywood's most controversial couples, it is a well-known fact in industry circles that putting Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the same table at any event is akin to committing a cardinal sin.

So imagine the irony that the duo is now on the same turf, some 2,000km away from home in Dubai.

Could a clash be possible? Actually, yes.

While Dubai has been seeing predictable fan frenzy since last week, what with Khan jetting into the emirate to shoot for his upcoming film, 'Mental', Rai Bachchan is currently here to purchase a new property for daughter Aaradhya, according to media reports.

Husband Abhishek Bachchan, who confirmed to the media that his daughter and wife are in the emirate, was spotted walking the ramp on Saturday for designer Ritu Beri's children's charitable fashion show in New Delhi and isn't here to keep his family company.

However, if his famous wife is indeed property shopping here, it could spell a possible run-in with Khan, who is reportedly also keen on snapping up a Dh36 million home in Dubai.

At the press conference of their stage show, 'Ahlan Bollywood' last December, brothers Salman and Sohail Khan couldn't stop gushing about how much their family loved Dubai.

In fact, when quizzed, Salman told Emirates 24|7: "To put it bluntly, if I wasn't living in Mumbai for work, then I would surely be living in Dubai."

When asked whether he was looking by Browse to Save">at properties here, the actor vaguely mentioned: "I haven't seen anything as yet, but it is on the cards."

What better time than to satisfy his Dubai real estate itch when filming here?

Wonder if they may even turn out to be neighbours on The Palm Jumeirah? Now that would be for the presses indeed.
