*After seeing that hug, I couldn't sleep! I am going crazy. So I'm writing it down somewhere so that my brain gets a rest and I can go back to sleep. I normally never write one shots, but just to clear my head, here goes.. *
What is this?
"Are you okay?" Asad asks. A minute ago, she had just run away, her face streaked in tears and her heart suddenly overcome with emotion after knowing a sad truth. At first, he didn't how to react. But he couldn't just walk away. He just couldn't do it. Not to Zoya. Not again.
Asad just had to overcome all his emotional shortcomings and go after her. After seconds of seeing her weeping, he mustered the courage to say those three words, "Are you okay?" with his hand, trembling with his own emotions, and at the same time trying to comfort her. Right at that moment, Asad felt her pain. Somewhere deep down, at someplace unfamiliar, it hurt him. He didn't even know why he was feeling such a tinge. This wasn't even his grief, so why was he soo hurt?
I guess Zoya read all that in his eyes. She read the pain in her heart that reflected in Asad's eyes, and that was all it took. Without thinking, she flung herself to him, grasping onto him for dear life and wept her heart out! He was taken aback. Shocked even. What is this? It hit him at that unfamiliar place once again, and he was stunned. Slowly, he started to let go of his tight grip on emotions. Whatever this alien feeling was, he starting giving in to it, slowly putting his arms around her. His eyes wide in wonderment of all the myriad of emotions that he was feeling. What is this?
Right then, holding onto Zoya when she needed him the most, he felt complete. Like he belonged there. It was like an epiphany! But, at the same time, it made not sense what-so-ever! What is this?When it felt so right, why had they never done this before? Why did they waste so much time hating and bickering with each other? Why did I resist this? Why did I resist her? ... Somewhere deep down, he knew that he was "resisting her" all this while. He knew it the first time he saw her at the Dargah. Crying, he had never seen so much beauty in sadness. He was enraptured! He knew he should stop looking, but just couldn't. There was just something so entrancing at that moment that he never wanted it to end. No woman ever had that effect on him.
When he got to know her obnoxiously loud personality, he was relieved. Thank goodness it was just that one time, he had thought then. Thank goodness she's exactly the opposite of a life partner that I had imagined. Resistance won't be difficult. And for a while, irritation and annoyance took over. But then, he got to know other dimensions of her personality and found out how selfless she actually is. This is not good, am I actually starting to like her? What is this?
He knew that any emotional entanglement with the Zoya he now knows would result to this. That's why he had tried to keep his distance for so long. But now, there is no coming back. Shit! This is not good! He recoiled back to his shell and tried to build more walls. But it all came tumbling down today. There was nothing between them now, not in this moment! He was completely hers and she was his. And he wanted time to stand still!
