Chapter 12- beginning of a new friendship

"where do you wanna go?" asked arnav breaking the silence. "umm go to the ritz hotel. And one more thing arnav please don't tell anyone about this." "give me one good reason why I should help you."

"ummm im your friend'" said khushi. "yeah right'so when did that happen? I mean me and you + friends." "ummm it happened a long time ago." "but you even refused to shake my hand right?"

"uffooo arnav shut up drive. Its just that I need to fix something that happened because of me. Wouldn't you do your best to fix something that happened because of you? I believe you would and therefore just shut up and help me with this."

"of course I will do my best to fix something that happened cuz of me. But what if you were unable to fix it? What will you do ?" "ummm what kind of a question is that. I will never give up and I'll keep on trying to fix it' that's what I will do."

"wont you give up?"

"nope'never' I never give up nor quit." Said khushi confidently.

"and will you forgive someone who had done a great deal of faults that effects you."

"what kind of a question is that? Is it just me or have you started talking in riddles?"

"just answer the question." "ummm yes I will forgive them no matter how big their fault is but'"

"but what?" "I will never forgive liars and traitors. And I will never forgive people who betray me."

"ohh so other than that you'll forgive anyone."

"of course..i will. So now that's enough of questions. Now I will ask you questions."

"ummm have I seen you before? Somewhere ? before I came to California?"

"noo I don't think so." Said arnav. 'shit now im lying to her. So what as if she'll remember me. But what if she does. Snap out of it arnav eyes on the road.' Thought arnav.

"okay' so you were really making out with beck in that bathroom that day right?"

"yes I was'" said arnav 'truth' true and lie ..its equal' he thought

"okay'. So do you really care for zoey?"

"why do you wanna know? Ummm yes '. No' I don't'" 'another truth' he thought

"so why do you keep dating her?"

"umm I really don't know'." 'I do ..but you shouldn't know it'so it's a lie. And again its equal' he thought ad mentally thanked god cuz they reached the hotel before khushi starts asking more.

"are you coming with me?" asked khushi.

"yes of course.." "but you can stay in the car' I don't mind going on my own."

"look khushi'if something happens to you '" and he shut him self up before spilling more.

"if something happens to me what arnav? You didn't complete your sentence."

"well your grandpa will kill me. Cuz I sneaked out with you."

"uffooo okay if you insist this much you can come with me." Said khushi giving him a 1000 watt smile.

'haaa what a beautiful smile'. Goodness arnav you should really put a virus guard to your brain. This is sooo stupid. You have seen hell a lot of beautiful girls and you drool over this one out of all of them.jeeezeee take a break.' Thought arnav and shook his thoughts off and went behind khushi.

Thye reached the 5^th floor and khushi knocked at a room a couple of times.

"khushi its 1 a.m and people must be asleep." "shut up arnav this is more important than sleeping."

Just then the door opened and lavanya came out. Her eyes were blood shot and it didn't seem as if she has slept.

"can I come in lavanya. I really need to speak with you"

"what else do you want to say? As if theres anything left '"

"come in' say whatever you have to say quickly.."

"la im sooo sorry'please don't leave imraan. I know I was a bitch to you at the mall but I never wanted to end this up like this. I was so selfish. I was selfish of sharing imraan with you. Cuz you seemed so perfect. And it made perfect sense why he fell for you. Cuz you were amazing. You had everything he had ever dreamt of a girl. Its just that I was so stupid that I even planned to ruin his whole life cuz of my selfishness. Its just that I didn't want him to marry right now. Im not saying that he shouldn't marry. Its just that I need some time to digest the fact that my brother is old enough to marry and start a life on his own'." Said khushi. And she took a deep breath as she was out of air. And arnav was shocked to here the sudden outcome of khushi.

"but why are you telling me all this?" asked lavanya.

"its just that I realized my fault and I don't want imraan to loose his dream girl because of me. Please don't leave him he really needs you, and even I like you its just that I really couldn't stand that you were getting all the attention."

"and im sorry too. I made imraan choose between you and me. I knew that you have always been the top on his list and that will never change no matter what it is. He always give more priority to you. After all I was being jealous of your relationship with him. Cuz you both are so possessive over each other. And I felt so left behind. I never had a sister and I really don't know how to be like one either. Its not your fault. I should have been more understanding after all he took care of you and its obvious that you would feel some kind of a hatred towards me. Its just that we acted like animals over a piece of meat. Im sorry khushi."

And they hugged each other like it's the end of the world.

'typical women' thought arnav who witnessed the whole scenario. 'at first it's the cat fight, then they come face to face and talk, they cry and they hug and they become best of friends. So typical.' Thought arnav.

"so that means you wont leave imraan right?" "no ..i wont'" "thank you thank you '.. so muchhh I love you!!" "yeah I love you too and can we go now im sleepy. I don't wanna drown in this whole women sentiment scenario" said arnav rolling his eyes.

"umm is this your boyfriend?" asked lavanya. "ohh no' no no' he's not my boy friend'he's arnav. Hust arnav." "actually you called me your friend on or way here. So introduce me to her like im your friend not just arnav."

"okay 'so lavanya meet MY FRIEND ARNAV" said khushi stressing on 'my friend'.

"I've met you on that day I first met khushi but I guess we never got introduced officially" said lavanya smiling.

"yeahh'if it wasn't for khushi making a big fuss out of you"

"yeah right khushi'you should be calm like your friend arnav." Said lavanya.

"yeah be like me' and you'll be fine." Said arnav. "ohh shut up arnav or else I'll kick you. Lets go. Lavanya I'll give you a call tomorrow morning. Bye and please don't tell anything to imraan. I'll confess everything my self. So good night"

"actually its good morning." Said arnav.

"shut up arnav. I know you lost your beauty sleep cuz of me. But be happy cuz you've spend it for a good deed."

And they both left lavanya. And they drove back home

"what you did is a good thing." Said arnav breaking the silence.

"I really screwd up arnav. I donno how but I did."

"but you did fix it." "yeah, but I really feel ashamed of myself. I've never felt so disappointed in me like this. To break that fully built trust. I lied to imraan out of all the people in the world. Im the worst sister one could ever have." Said khushi while tears welled up her eyes.

Arnav stopped the car. He looked at her and he took her hand in his and held it tightly. And said,

"look at you. You're the best sister one could ever have. Cuz you fixed your fault without hiding it and making things worse. That's the best thing you could have done. You told her the truth about how you felt and that's the best thing about you. You were jealous and selfish and everything but you still sacrificed your well built ego for your brother's happiness."

"my well built WHAT?" said khushi wiping away her tears and looking shoked forming a perfect "o" from her mouth

"your ego. Im sorry khushi im not good at these heart warming speeches its just that you are a good person who wanted your brother to be happy." He said smiling and still holding her hand.

And both of their eyes met each other for a second and it felt like eternity for them and Arnav was slowly moving towards her face'. Just then a car honked behind them and they both gasped out of the trance. Arnav was still staring at her when khushi spoke.😉😉

"ummm arnav my hand'" and he let go. "thank for your speech though it was not the best one I had. You're a great guy I mean not that I thought you were a bad guy. Now shall we go home?"

"sure'" and they went home. They sneaked in from the way they sneaked out. And khushi gave arnav a big hug.

"thanks arnav' I never thought that you would ever help me in anything."

"you're most welcome' now I'll go to my so called beauty nap."

'what was I going to do to her ? shit was I going to kiss her no wayyy' I am not attracted to her 'nah no way in hell' shit I'm too sleepy to think abt it'' thought Arnav and went to sleep."

Then they parted their ways and went to bed. But only arnav went to bed cuz khushi had unfinished business with her brother.

-next morning-

"good morning everyone" said imraan looking cheerful. "someone seems happy." Said dadi.

"yeah dadi. I have no reason to be not happy." "where's khushi and arnav?" asked rajesh. "umm they must be still asleep cuz they both worked so hard last night to cheer me up." Said imraan.

"ohh really?" said dadi and sid gave him a weird look cuz he's well aware of the fact that anyone except his brother will work hard to cheer someone up.

"so then lets eat. Let the kids sleep a bit more." Just then arnav came in to the dinning room all dressed up . they all started eating and half an our later khushi came in wearing her pjs, yawning and with messed up hair.

"good morning everyone." "good morning sleepy head" said imraan and the others.

"khushi first go and change then breakfast." Said rajesh.

"no no first breakfast then change'you donno I had a very busy night'so I deserve breakfast in pjs. Afterall from now on I promise to be a good girl and I will never ever plan anything stupid ever again."

"okay now that's enough khushi lets go change you up before you start blabbering stuff that I don't want you to blabber." Said imraan and carried his almost sleep walking sister.

Everyone looked at arnav as if asking about her stupid plan.

"what? Why are ya'll looking at me? Just eat." Said arnav.

-khushi's room-

"why did you bring me here' I told you nah' I wanna have my breakfast in pjs." And imraan dragged her to the bathroom, made her sit on the side of the wash basin and brushed her teeth and washed her face. Like taking care of a 4 year old girl.

"uffooo khushi 'don't tell anyone else about what you did yesterday. Just forget that a day like that ever existed cuz you made sure that you fix your bad deed. Now its done. Don't you ever bring that topic ever again. Okay? I forgave you. Even I was wrong of jumping in to taking decisions without asking my little princess about it. Even La forgave you. She called me. She'll come here today. Now change yourself and come downstairs ." said imraan.

"thanks imi' I love you so much'and im sorry." Said khushi "okay baba' nows its over'I love you too"

"hey dadi'." Said lavanya as she entered the dinning room making everyone gasp except for arnav.

"arrey lavanya bitiya'what are you doing here?" asked dadi looking confused.

"umm dadi I asked her to come here." Said imraan as he came and stood next to lavanya.

Just then khushi came to the room all dressed up and saw lavanya and she went to her and hugged her.

"heyyy'im so glad to see you" said lavanya. "me too"

"umm la can I have a word with you for a second?" "sure." Said lavanya and went with imraan.

Everyone looked at khushi for answers but she just sat next to shahid and started having her breakfast.

After like 10 mins imraan and lavanya came back.

"umm dadi we're back together." Said imraan.

"that's great beta..but can you explain what happened?" "umm I think its better if we leave the past in past. Right khushi?" said lavanya. " I think so." Replied khushi.

"so then the engagement is back on right?" asked karan.

"ummm im afraid not'" said imraan. "what?" said Khushi almost spilling her juice " why not?"

"well we wanted to spend some time together like this and there's a lot more that we yet do not know about each other. So we thought we should stay a while without getting married. After all we're 27 not 72 . Right Khushi?"

"but'." "no buts Khushi' even lavanya says that we should stay a while, plus she said that she wants to spend some time with you."

"yeah.. I wanna know more about my new crazy sister and her friend."

" I don't have a friend that you should throw your special attention la." Said Khushi looking annoyed about lavanya giving her the almost teasing look.

"who's your friend Khushi?" asked Arnav with his signature smirk. " I bet you needed help from him to solve some unfinished business right?"

"ummm nope'I did everything on my own' ohhh yesss my friend'my imaginary friend helped me. Ohh im done with my breakfast." Said Khushi and left the room as quickly as possible before getting in to more trouble.

"crazy girl" said imraan and both imraan and lavanya sat for breakfast.

The day went smoothly for the guptas as well as the others. And Alia and Sid were busy plotting for their mission breakup=arshi. Its that evening that they decided to land their plan on the field infront of others.

"Alia what is wrong with you? Trust me I did not call Jenny'"

"of course you did. I heard you calling her'. You know how much I hate her and you still call her? And its holidays what on earth were you doing?"

"look Alia'what is there to be so insecure about, so what if I call jenny? Whats your problem with that?"

"whats my problem? My problem is that you're my boyfriend and im not willing to share you."

"soo who told you to share me."

The fight dragged on and on until both Arnav and Khushi jumped in the middle to stop it. Everyone else were surprised to see 2 lovebirds trying to break their necks.

"Arnav you stay out of this. This is a problem between me and Alia!!" said Sid while pushing Arnav away.

"Khushi you stay out of this!!" yelled Alia and pushed Khushi.

Both Arnav and Khushi were surprised to see this. They both looked at each other with shock written over their faces.

"Alia im so sick of you telling me do this do that 'its not like this 'its like that' jeezeee why do you have to be so annoying and you say you love me but you still have doubts on me? Alia this is not going to work between us anymore'!! This is over.."

"to hell with this relationship'and you don't have to say it!! I know that its over..!! It got over on the moment I heard you call that bitch!!"

"we're done" said both of them together and went separate ways.

"wow" was the outcome of both Arnav and Khushi. They both were still shocked of what happened. So was the others. Alia's mother went after Alia. While karan and shahid went after Sid.

"I thought those two were a match made in heaven" said dadi finally breaking the silence

"so did I'they both had ideas that match each other. i never thought that they would ever break up." Said rajesh looking at Arnav. His thoughts were on his request to Arnav about taking care of Alia and Khushi. Arnav knew his thoughts and he nodded his head looking confused about what just happened. Arnav went to meet Sid.

"umm boys can I have a word with my brother privately?"

"sure"

He shut the door and went near Sid.

"Sid what did just happen?" "I donno Arnav'.its over between us'''''" and Sid kept blabbering all sorts of lie to Arnav about Alia.

"Alia' what happened downstairs? Huh?" Khushi asked barging in to her room.

"nothing Khushi!! Its just that we're done now" said Alia wiping her tears.

"but you cant be over!! Is there something I can do?"

"no Khushi just leave me alone for a while."

Khushi left her room and went to the library only to see Arnav there. She sat infront of him.

"sooo" "sooo"

"did you talk to Sid?"

"yes, did you talk to Alia?"

"yes I donno whats wrong with them'they fight like us"

"even I thought the same' we gotta do something. I don't wanna see Sid sad."

"even I don't wanna see Alia sad. You're right we got to do something."

"I've never seen Sid so mad at someone'he's a very calm person. He loved Alia so much. You should have seen his room. Its filled with Alia's pictures."

"you should have seen Alia's books. I hate borrowing her books cuz she doesn't have notes in them. She has his name written all over the pages. Hell we gotta do something to get those together."

"for once im with you." Said Arnav.

"do you have ideas?"

"umm first of all we gotta know what happened between them before looking for a solution. Khushi you talk with Sid, I'll talk with Alia. If I go to Sid he'll shoo me away. I bet Alia will do the same with you."

"yeah'so that means I'll be talking to Sid and you to Alia. And that's fine by me."

"me too' and one more thing, we'll be friends until they get back together. I know we have our odds but I guess we can control our selves until we solve this."

"yes' so from now on you're my friend' not like last night'" said Khushi smiling.

"not like last night' ohh yeahhh' I was just the sacrificial lamb last night nah'so yes' sadly you're gonna be my friend for the sake of my brother."

"and my sister."

"deal?"

"deal."

They shook hands for the first time but they didn't know that it's gonna be a great ride towards real friendship.

Precap- "Khushi' Khushi!!! Don't you dare close your eyes!!! Keep your self awaken!! Please' no doctor can help you now" he said and took Khushi in his arms and helf her tight. As she clutched on to his collar crying. "whats happening to me !!! it hurts a lot and why aren't you taking me to a hospital?" screamed Khushi in to his chest as drowsiness took over her.

"Khushi!!!!!! Wake up DAMN IT '. Don't you dare die on me!!! Open your eyes."😉

guy im extreamly sorry for the late update.. its just that i changed the plans and changed the story a bit.so took me time to proof read and all. its a very looong update ...expecting a respectable amount of likes and comments
