Change is the only constant in life. The sooner there is acceptance of this basic principle of life, the sooner there is peace...extrinsically as well as intrinsically. Yash and Aarti have accepted this fact and as such are at peace with themselves. While the rest of the family, including the newcomers, are stuck behind the lines, they have already moved on. They have not only not let the change affect their personal equation as well as their little family's but they are looking beyond the present deadlock and trying to find openings. This is precisely the reason why these two are the only members of that family who are at a position to help others.
When the entire family left Gayatri back at the dining table, she had only Yash/Aarti to show her tears to. It was a moment of realization for Gayatri...the moment when she felt the first stirrings of maternal feelings. Once they came alive, there was no stopping her, because with that one realization came the realization of the gross injustice meted out to her son Aakash and the continual repulsion by her husband. As long as she was only the wronged wife, Gayatri kept her distance even after learning about her husband's infidelity...because that was how she was brought up to behave. However, the moment she realized the reason behind Aakash's crass upbringing, the mother in her upstaged the wife...and for the first time a mother confronted Suraj Pratap Scindia and not his wife Gayatri...though the wife's suppressed anger was not far behind. It was the mother who shifted gears and found courage to call a spade a spade...and on the face of such rightful defiance SP had no words to retaliate with. For the first time he lost face to the woman who stood tall in front of him with not a stain in her character or conscience. With what words could he justify or defend himself ? Respect is earned and not demanded...SP had earned that respect before, and now he is in a state when he is in no position to demand it. Gaytari has declared war of sorts...to provide justice to her long-lost son. Hers and Yash's missions henceforth will be same, but their methods will be entirely different.
This mental battle between SP and Gayatri will have at least one collateral damage: Yash. The fact that SP preferred Yash over Aakash...will be one of the reasons that Aakash will be given preferential treatment by Gayatri over Yash. A mother will be fighting for her son's rights...yes, but the wife will instigate the mother to show bias and make choices. This thirty-year-old lie is SP's Achilles' heel...and Gayatri will exploit this weakness to ensure that Aakash is absorbed in the family. Yash will be the unfortunate casualty in this. It's not that Gayatri's love for him will lessen or that she would want to deliberately hurt him just because it turned out that the other woman had borne him...it's just that Gayatri will rely on his maturity to understand everything. She has been very candid in voicing that because of the mistakes of others, her relationship with Yash won't suffer, just as she voiced yesterday the same thought for Aakash. Just as when the mother tends to her sick child more doesn't mean that she is neglecting her other children...similarly, at the moment Aakash more than Yash needs her. In her zeal to bring her newfound son closer to her, Gayatri might have to distance Yash...but that will be an inadvertent act and not deliberate. Simply put...SP rejected Aakash, Gayatri will want to embrace him...and this need not be at the cost of Yash, who might get hurt initially but will soon realize and understand Gayatri's dilemma. I hope Radha makes him realize it. That'll bring him emotionally closer to Radha. So in the end, Radha will have Yash's love without making any extra effort, while Gayatri will have to work hard to not only gain Aakash's love but also fight for his rightful place. I am much more sympathetic toward Gayatri now simply because she is in the most difficult position at the moment. The lady has received a double blow...and if she has picked up the gauntlet against her husband now, it's because he has given her a reason to. Can one blame her then?
As for the two marriages are concerned...the contrast is clear: Yash and Aarti have blended and stand as a whole now... it's because right from the beginning when one broke, the other mended...whereas in Aakash/Ishita relationship, if one breaks, the other doubles the breakage. Notice the contrasting dialogues of Aarti and Ishita: Aarti teases Yash about the times when he was almost as volatile as Aakash is now and how she changed him into a lovable and fun-loving person...whereas Ishita tells Aakash, if he can break things, she can too, but she won't let him break their marriage. Where Aarti returned Yash to his old self with patience, tolerance, and love, Ishita in her arrogance and brashness wants instant results and wants her husband to change and be "like" someone (Yash). Aarti accepted Yash as he was...Ishita wants to remold Aakash...and therein lies the basic difference.
