More than the love story, his reasoning to become CBI was what puzzled me. I wish they explored that angle a bit more or just left it out. Here is my take: I dont think the movie was as tight and crisp as A Wednesday, because it tried to be more commercial and appeal to a wider audience. that means there'll be some loopholes, but despite that it got a check mark on major areas: screenplay, story, pace, length, acting etc.Its a pity you had a migraine...watch it again and I think it'll be worth it :)
I found the scene where we cut to Akki sitting in the rain really...stupid. đ You're right, either the whole angle needed to be explored way more, or it should have been left out completely. It was a bad cop-out to try to get us an insight into Akki's character.
...and yeah, the movie tried to be very "commercial" with the love story. ...and I guess because I loved loved A Wednesday so much (I watched it TWICE in a row!), and expected something as crisp as that, I ended up being disappointed...plus I was actually sad that Neeraj Pandey tried to commercialize it with the "love story." ...that he felt he had to do that...maybe because he had a bigger star, I don't know? ...but obviously it would have been so much better without it. Actually, come to think of it, maybe the love story would have been more acceptable if it was treated MUCH better and they had a better actress. Kajal has no screen presence AT ALL. She's so boring!
It's definitely a good movie though, and I loved Neeraj Pandey's attention to detail in recreating the 80's...The plan to watch it was so last minute.. and yeah I think I'll give it another shot when it comes on DVD and I'm feeling much better. Maybe I'll like it more :)
