BV was a whiff of fresh air on Indian television when it arrived in 2008. I and my family watched it religiously for all these years. I have always admired the show for its social message, uniqueness. But in last 2 years or so, the show has repeatedly lost its focus...dragged...tread on Ekta Kapoorish paths (affairs, Teepri, badla, illegitimate kids etc...blah blah)...somehow it always came back on track.
I loved Gehna. But Neha Marda leaving the show was a big blow back then. I'd thought you'd replace her with an actress of equally solid calibre but you instead reduced the strong Gehna to a mere prop. Fine.
Then we got Gauri. Anjum was great in her role. It's sad she left. But worse is that this time around you didn't even think of replacing the actress or giving a proper explanation or closure to the story of that character! You made her and her family vanish as if they never existed! 😡
You got in Ganga. Fine again. But her son and the Ratan Singh case is so easily sidelined or badly mixed up with the Ansh love/confession track cum Jagya-Singhs warming up to her track????!!! You did show an episode where Ganga lashes out at villagers and admits she still pines for her son. But where's her mad urge, the tadap...to get back her son now? She's easily into pujas, bonding with Singhs and at times sniffling in memory of her son. The "tadap" which was there earlier isn't there now.
Shiv - I find it funny how he swings between love of wife and zeal to get justice for Ganga!! You guys are mixing it all up so badly! I mean it all seems hotch potch dear CVs!! 😕
And now, icing on the cake is the news of the very foundation of BV, the main lead being replaced!!! 😡
I am not much of a fan of Prats' acting (though she's improved a lot). But she's the face of Anandi the character! How can you just replace her?!
Sorry but this is all so Ekta Kapoorish! Replacing actors, taking mini leaps, multiple marriages of one person, suddenly opening or closing tracks, leaving tracks midway (Anandi's parents were kept ignored for a long time, Mahaveer Singh was brought and kicked out at whim, Teepri ka ke hua pata ko ni...but they were all side actors so as viewers we could ignore the mangled mess).
Why are you messing with the main faces of the show?! (Even Dadisa and Sumitra had suddenly disappeared from the show for long in past!)
BV is your flagship show. We know. But please quit messing the show in desperate hope to milk the cow!
Despite its flaws, BV is miles ahead of any K soap! Please keep it that way. I hope it doesn't end up as badly as the flagship K shows ended when their main leads and popular faces left. I hope you remember how those shows were never able to recover their original glory even when the main leads returned to them after a break!
Ideally BV should've ended the day Anandi got remarried or you could've shown Jagya-Gauri sorting their differences and coming to haveli with their baby, while Anandi all happy with Shiv and eventually expecting her own child. Thus giving a nice end to the story, concluding how child marriage and social evils can mess up lives.
What's the need to drag it??!!!
BV ko khichdi mat banao please! It's a request from a regular and concerned viewer who's always respected your show!
P.S - The original child actor leads, Neha Marda, Anjum and now Prats left the show. Some talented ones like Shyam's Tausa, Bhago, Sugna's MIL and original Shyam were also out. Things had gotten shaky but it's final nail in the coffin now. Sorry. Thanks for the memories though. Hope BV ends decently and doesn't die out like K soaps did - with no one to bother about its end...
