Chapter 7

Trouble….exchange

Khushi was sitting in her cabin working on some stage themes for an event that was that was to be organised by her company next week when lavanya knocked the door of her cabin.

Lavanya was not going to come to office that day but then when she felt a little better she decided to come as she did not want to suffer. Due to payal's wedding and other works khushi was busy and lavanya didn't want to burden her also the main responsibility of the event next week was in lavanya's hand khushi only was asked for help and to finalise all things, make changes if required.

"Come in" was khushi's reply when she heard the knock.

Lavanya enters and says "khushi Mrs. Khandelkar has come and you have to discuss about the jewellery designs with her and then take her to the jewellery shop"

She sighs and asks lavanya to send Mrs. Khandelkar inside her cabin.

Mrs khandelkar has always been the annoying kind. She was one of the costumers who were very choosy and wanted things there way. She has always tried to find mistakes and made khushi really frustrated by her constant nagging. If anything was not the way she wants and on the time she wants she can make a person mad due to her taunts and tantrums.

Mr and mrs khandelkar had come last month and had given the work to organise their daughter's wedding. From the first meeting itself it was clear to khushi how different the two were. Mr khandelkar unlike his wife was the calm, happy go lucky types who would not fuss about things, solved problems without any anger and were quite easy to handle client. In fact if it was not for Mr khandelkar khushi's company would not have been given this work.

Lavanya send mrs. Khandelkar inside khushi's cabin and so she entered the cabin.

Khushi : "oh…hello mrs. Khandelkar have a seat we will discuss about the jewellery designs"

Mrs khandelkar wished khushi and sat on the chair in front of khushi.

Khushi: "would you like to take something…tea or coffea…water atleast" said khushi not to show her annoyance due to mrs. Khandelkar extra bright saree and so much of make-up. khushi hated extra bright colours and that too when the colours in the dress don't match with each other and the amount of make-up the over-sized lady had applied made her look really horrible according to khushi.

And so the two discussed about various jewellery designs for the to be bride to wear on her sangeet with khushi trying not to show the irritation she felt when mrs khandelkar was not agreeing to anything she was saying and was thinking why the hell did they appointed her as their wedding planner if they can't coordinate with her. She was already little annoyed after that fight with arnav and now this.

After the discussion they made their way to the jewellery shop in khushi's car as mrs. Khandelkar's car's tyre was puncher and the driver had taken the car for repair. Due to mrs. Khandelkar's insistence they were going to Mahinal jewellers which luckily not too far from khushi's office.

While returning from aman's house arnav decided to find some jewellery shop on the way as there were many good jewellery stores in this area.

He saw three good stores on the way and decided to go in one of them. He parked his car and went to the store in middle. It was mahinal jewellers and arnav had heard that they had very good designs.

He entered the store and one of the attendants came and asked what he would like to purchase. He asked him to show some good readymade jewellery to give as a gift on the occasion of wedding.

The attendant took him to show some ear rings and rings

On the other hand khushi and mrs khandelkar entered the shop and started looking at some heavy necklaces.

The both were sitting on the opposite counter their backs facing each other again unknown to each other's presence though they felt something different they didn't know what this new feeling was and so chose to ignore it.

Mrs. Khandelkar after rejecting a million of necklaces finally chose the most heavy and designed one though khushi suggested they should choose a lighter and simpler designed one but mrs khandelkar kaha sunai wale thi.

Arnav was still not able to decide anything. He had always been bad at choosing jewellery. 'maybe asking bhai was not a bad idea I should have taken his help' he thought. The attendant suggested him to look at some bracelet or bangle and so the two made their way to the counter in the middle side.

Since necklace and ring were finalised mrs. Khandelkar and khushi made their way along with their attendant to look at some bangles.

They both sat side to side each other so mrs. Khandelkar was on the left side of khushi and arnav on the right but they had still not noticed each other. Mrs. Khandelkar was saying something and khushi was silently looking to her while the attendants searched for some bangles and bracelets to show to their respective customer. Arnav was checking some message on his phone.

It was only when they both at the same time looked at their respective attendants and said at the same time

Arnav : "something little simple yet not too much please" he said remembering the choice of ring payal had chosen

Khushi : "some heavy bangles with small diamonds"

Hearing the familiar voice of the person whom they have come to know for past almost 24 hours ago they turned their heads to each other both surprised scratch that shocked at the other's presence.

And both questioned together "tum?" (you)

Khushi : "tum yaha kya kar rahe ho ?" (what are you doing here)

Arnav : "I can ask the same sweetie" and he smirked as usual.

Khushi : "oh…hello I am a lady…if I am found in a jewellery shop what is so surprising?"

Arnav : "oh…but looking at you I can say that you are not the one to use much of fancy jewelleries and make-up"

Khushi : "you…" and before khushi could complete mrs. Khandelkar cut her off who was till now looking at both of them in confusion trying to say something but could not.

"you both know each other khushi" she asked and before khushi could reply arnav interrupted "she is my fianc …right khushi" and he showed an evil smile.

Khushi wanted to shout "what" but before she could do that the ever annoying client of hers interrupted with her loud voice showing lots of happiness and some surprise "oh…you didn't tell me that…congratulation" said mrs. Khandelkar.

"oh..thank…" and this time before arnav could complete he was cut off by a fuming khushi kumara gupta "shut up…he is not my fianc…he is nothing" she pointed towards arnav looking and mrs. Khandelkar and the turned to arnav "and why did you do so ? "

Arnav : "because I love it when you are angry" came arnav's flirtatious reply.

She glared at him and turned to mrs. Khandelkar and with a fake extra sweet voice she said " mrs. Khandelkar ignore him let us look at some bangles" she said and turned to her lady attendant who had a dreamy look on her face and was looking at something ignoring the rest of the world as if it didn't even exist. When khushi followed her gaze she saw arnav and understood the reason behind her actions and for some strange reason she felt angry at the attendant but she chose to ignore this also.

She waved her hand in front of the attendant and said in an angry tone "oh..hello…show us some bangles and stop dreaming"

And in case you are wondering what the annoying mrs. Khandelkar was doing so let me tell you that she was touching up her make-up checking herself in the mirror and mentally admiring herself.

Both their attendants started showing them some bangles and to arnav also some plain bracelets but he was still not able to decide anything and so he turned to look at khushi who was seeing something on her phone as mrs. Khandelkar had gone to the washroom.

"hey…sweetie.." she turned to look at him "I need your help" and said as if he was ordering her to help him.

"and why makes you think that I'll help you" at this arnav's irritation came back…he was already frustrated for not finding the perfect gift. After all payal is his one and only bhabhi…well would be bhabhi.

"any way what are you doing in a jewellery shop…that to at the bangles counter ?"

"look…. I wanted to gift something to payal for the engagement and I am not able to find anything and so I need your help" he replied.

"but then why me?"

"umm…because you are a girl and also payal's best friend…from what I know"

"ok…. I'm ready to help you only if you say sorry for what lie you told to mrs. Khandelkar and if you say please while asking for help" she gave him an evil smirk knowing that his ego and attitude be hurt to do so and she will get an opportunity to get back at him.

Arnav :"what"

Khushi: "you heard me"

He looked frustrated…he really wanted to give something which she liked and since he could not find anything he had no other option.

"ok fine!…I am sorry and please will you help me" he said frustrated.

"good" so let's see

And so she helped arnav find a bracelet which was more like a bangle, it was simple yet beautiful…made of gold and silver which small semi-precious and stones at the side and a heart in the middle.

Till then mrs. khandelkar also came back from the washroom and then arnav and khushi along with mrs. khandelkar went to the cashier to pay the bill till then the attendants were packing their items.

They both returned after paying the bill to the bangles counter where three packets were kept. Mrs. Khandelkar took the at the right. Arnav picked the one at the left and khushi picked the one at the centre. At that time khushi's attendant was busy dealing with other customer and arnav's was placing the taken out jewellery back into the box.

Mrs. Khandelkar had insisted on going to saree shop before going back to khushi's office.

It was evening time when they reached to khushi's office. Khushi and mrs. Khandelkar sat in khushi's cabin checking the items they have brought and the list they had made for shopping.

Khushi opened the second jewellery bag after checking the first one and instead of finding the ring and bangles they had brought for sunita (mrs. Khandelkar's daughter) she found the bracelet that she had chosen for payal and a simple, elegant solitaire ring with two small gems at the side. It was beautiful and any girl would love to have it especially a girl like her who adored simplicity.

But the ring made her wonder why had he brought it? Well she ignored this as well and concentrated on the problem in front of her.

When mrs. Kahndelkar noticed that she was lost and looked at the items of the packet khushi had just opened she lost her mind.

"what is this ms. Gupta …yeh…kya hai…hamara saman kha hai…hai bhagwaan what did you do"

"mrs. Khandelkar relax I think I know where our jewellery is…just wait till tomorrow I'll give them back to you"

She tried to control the situation and mrs. Khandelkar agreed after showing her lot of tantrums and then she went to her home.

'Unbelievable I'll have to meet him again and that to when they were not supposed to meet…argh…all because of that stupid attendants because of whom these packets are exchanged' she thought.
