My Box Office Predictions for THE ATTACKS OF 26/11

To be honest, the last time RGV made a real impact as a director was probably SARKAR back in 2005. That seems to be the last film of his that people remember and like.

This time around, for THE ATTACKS OF 26/11, it seems like RGV is not making a random, senseless, bakwas film. There are a few reasons. One, the topic of this film is such that right away, it can connect with any common man in India. All of India remembers the horrifying attacks that took place in Mumbai in 2008 on November 26. To make a film on it may seem like a sensitive topic to touch on, as there are bound to be people that may be frustrated that RGV is exploiting a real-life incident using a film. But, one must give props to RGV for having the guts to make a film on a topic like this!

The film starts Nana Patekar. Let's face it, Nana is not the most popular actor. But he is considered an actor of merit. If he agreed to do this film, then that could indicate that the film has "something" in it.

However, having said all that, we can't forget RGV's previous disasters. It's possible that he will make a good comeback with this film. But it's also possible that he messed this film up as well, content-wise.

One drawback for the film though is that it has been at a budget of around 25-30 crores, which is a bit too much given the fact that there are no crowd-pulling names associated with the film.

The film will not open well, because there isn't a lot of buzz for the film and Nana is not a crowd-pulling actor.

My Box Office Predictions for THE ATTACKS OF 26/11:

Opening Day: 1.50 crore net

Opening Weekend: 5 crores net

Lifetime Collections: 15 crores net

Overall Box Office Verdict: Flop

All in all, the film may not do well at the box office, but I think that those who do end up watching the film may appreciate it.

But you are predicting it to be a flop and your predictions usually are accurate...

Edit: Also the recent attacks in Hyderabad might have a different outcome in terms of public wanting to watch the movie...what do you think?

I think the film had potential to do well but the problem is that the budget is too high for this kind of film!

But, according to BOI, the film's opening day collection was in the 1.50 crore range. I think I predicted it perfectly 😃
