I hope so too. And if he really wants to know what he should do next and how to proceed, then as a sincere SRK fan I want him to choose more projects like Swades and CDI and forget about doing these masala or commercial films. He is at a stage where he has already established what he wanted, one flop film won't really ruin his career now but doing a good performance film will definitely add to his stardom. A film like swades or CDI will always be remembered and won't somewhat die down in the next few years while JTHJ or CE might. He has the ability and skills to do films like that and at this stage of his career he should move towards them. He was great in them, not a lot of people can pull off such roles so he needs to use that to his advantage.

I just hope he drops HNY!

AB Sr refused to adapt to changing times & the new folks were experimenting, doing films that started working. Cinema is once again in a phase of transition like it was 20 years back...the most celebrated films from last year aren't the biggies...they're the small films that relied heavily on content. The same case is happening again this year. The masala films of today will go out of fashion soon like all previous phases have. They are the "safe' films. Another brand of masala might replace it of course, but the change is there...

I don't mean their careers will be over by next year, but in the next few years..there will be a big shift. Ranbir is already rising like anything...and it's the newcomer's films this year that sound the MOST exciting. Not the boring, safe films of the biggies.

While I agree the end as the prolific leading man is nearing for the 40+ stars I still feel it will be delayed given the kind of younger stars we have today. To take over as a reigning superstar one needs to have mass appeal. But thats tough to build with the one film a year policy which HR, Ranbir etc have. If you look at the kind of work the Khans or Akki or Ajay did in their younger days they did all kinds of films-good, bad, ugly, embarassing. But they did atleast 4-5 films a year thus building their fanbase because even if the films were bad they entertained. None of the younger stars can make a really bad film work like how a Salman or SRK or even Ajay or Akki can. So only one I feel comes close is Emraan. Among the rest a few good ones will remain but they might not enjoy the kind of superstardom these men enjoyed unless they change their method of working.
