It was one morning when Maan was working on his laptop sitting in the hall of Khurana Mansion when Niharika came upto him with a cup of coffee.

"Good Morning Mom."

Wishing him back, she sat next to him.

"Waise Maan, since two weeks your dadi & I have noticed that you have suddenly become all the more khadoos as if you are trying to mask something!" she eyed him keenly before coming straight to the point, "I gather that you left office early yesterday & returned here only after midnight! Where did you go?"

"Mom, woh main Geet ke saath dinner--- "

His fingers at once stopped typing. Shutting his eyes tightly, he bit his lips!

"Geet ke saath dinner???"Niharika looked at him wide-eyed, "Maan, are you serious???...That means you jumped into her hotel room & took her out???...Wait a minute, why would you do that, you have not even bothered to look at any girl properly...do you love her? You love Geet, right?...She is such a sweet girl! I am so happy, Dadi will be so happy that you finally chose a girl!"

Maan did not get a chance to speak even once as Niharika was overflowing with joy & excitement!

"I can't see any reason to be happy hearing what Maan has done."

Vikrant's stolid voice from behind took away the brightness of Niharika's face.

"Maan, you broke the hostel rules." he said to him, "If you were caught, then Geet would have been in a very big trouble."

"I--"

"My son is prudent enough to not let any such thing happen."

"I can't believe you are okay with what Maan has done!!" he raised his voice slightly.

"If he loves her, what's the harm?!! Besides, I don't want my son to become like you."

"I don't have any problem if he has any feelings for Geet but I am not blinded like you who cannot see the pros & cons."

Niharika flinched.

"First, we share a thorough professional relationship & her family would not wish to venture beyond that . Second, Geet's Daarji doesn't approve of Maan, the reason for which only Maan must be knowing."

"Whatever it is, Maan can take appropriate decisions in life not like someone else who has made others suffer..."her voice reflected anguish.

Vikrant was expressionless.

"Maan," he looked at him, "If you are not serious for Geet, then stay away from her. I am not unaware of your marriage prank on her."

"If you had known your son, you wouldn't have said that. Maan indeed loves her but you won't even understand it."

"As if you know what feelings are."

Maan, who was sitting quietly all the while, prepared to walk out of the Mansion...His face was hardened & pain was reflected all over him...This was not something new to him, his parents never ever got along well & he should have got used to their fights & not react but that was not the case even after so many years...

"I wish both of you a happy journey."

His voice was strained & walked out...Both of them realized they shouldn't have had a tiff in front of Maan.

"I love Mishty & it's neither a joke nor any prank!!!!!"

"Hello..." I answered the call with a sleepily

"Geet!!!!! Where the heck are you??!!!!I had told you our group will be meeting to discuss about the project before our college lectures but madam is still fulfilling her sleep quota!!!"

Arrg...! Annie's bossy voice on the phone was enough to do away with the droopiness of my eyes! Seriously, she is worst than an alarm clock!!

"I forgot, khush???" I snorted.

"Meet us in the canteen asap!!!" her voice was rude.

"I am glad that mere bina project nahi ho sakta!!!" I snorted & rang off!

What more worst can be than to start the new term with a project which Annie as one of your group partner? Today is the beginning of our 2^nd term in St Mark. The gone two weeks had been really tiring with studies & exams. Well, you can ask me about my 1^st term exams as they were much better than what I had expected. Aur pata hai, Maan had turned out to be the most boring soul on Earth! Always after me to concentrate on my studies as if he wanted me to officially get married to my curriculum! But you know what, every day after my exam, he waited outside the college gates & then we both drank sugarcane juice! And yesterday we even went for dinner! But we did not meet much during these two weeks & I had felt my day turning from bad to worst at not getting a glimpse of him...like...like he is as important for me as my breaths...I am sounding cheesy, hai na? Geet, watch your vocabulary to describe Maan!

I must hurry up to college now, else Annie will eat my ears off! And I even want to drop by in office to meet Maan! By the way, it's high time I change my toothbrush!
