Arjun is going to be devastated!!
This was the only thought going on in Arohis mind throughout the one hour long journey, and now it was making her restless. 'How is she supposed to break it to him??!! And how is it even possibleā¦ Someone is wrong here! Either the doctor whom she just visited or the doctor who told her she was pregnant more than a month ago.' There was total chaos in Arohis mind regarding the current earth-shattering fact that was told to her.
She ran her fingers through her hair in frustration. She could not take it anymore. She felt that she would go mad if she thought about it all by herself. She needed to share this with Arjun. But what if he reacts in an extreme manner? She could not do this to him. Should she wait for another test and check the results herself before breaking it to him??? She wont be able to keep it to herself till then. Arjun could read her like an open book! He will make out in 2 minutes that something is wrong and then he will not stop tlll she spills it out.
'I know how to make you talk! To make you stop talking is a task though LOL'
His message flashed in her brain. But he did not want to hide one more thing from him. It was not something that fit in her morals. Yesā¦ she should just tell him. But considering the recent events that had happened, she also did not want to burden him with one more thing before she herself was sure about it. Probably she should not tell him about Karan too. Tonight they had planned to be alone and together at the cottage. He must be hoping for a romantic night, and these two news would definitely put him off.
Noā¦ she should hang on for just a few more days. With Arjuns real estate business about to kick start, he anyway had his hands full. So she should just be supportive and deal with her issues on her own, until she feels that he should know. Repeating her decision to herself, Arohi straightened up in her seat and wiped the frown off her face. Pasting a reassuring smile on her lips, she stared outside the window, eagerly waiting to reach the cottage.

Arjun lit the candles on the centre table of the bedroom. He had arranged for all the food and everything, including flowers and balloons. He had even lied to her about being late so that he could come to the cottage earlier and make all the arrangements. As the candles glowed with their subtle flames, Arjun switched off the lights, bathing the room in a romantic mist. A soft smile adorned his face as his eyes swept over the entire dcor of the room, that he had changed and decorated with his own hands. He knew Arohi will love this but still deep inside his heart he hoped that she really does.
He re-arranged the flowers to cover the gift that he had bought for Arohi, wanting it to be a surprise. He was fidgeting with everything like a teenager on his first date. Or a teenager on his first date hoping to score!
'Arjunā¦ you moron! Shes your wifeā¦ biwi hai teri! Itna tension kyu leraha haiā¦ she will love all thisā¦ yes she will!'
He repeated this to himself to calm himself down. It was not the decorations that were making him nervous but what lay ahead. Arohis meet with Karan had been pricking him for a very long time now, but he had cajoled his heart and eventually made his peace with it. He had not expected Arohi to tell it to him herself, but he was sure if he asked her then she wont lie. And so it all boiled down to 'should he ask her?' Was it really that necessary for him to hear the truth from her mouth? If he trusted her, as he said that he did, then why didn't he trust her judgement???
The truth was that he trusted everything about her, and he knew that she extended the same trust towards him. And THATā¦ was more scary. It made him feel accountableā¦ credible for any action that he takes in his life. Because those actions and decisions, will affect Arohi. She had given the reins of her faith in his hands. Because she trusted her Arjun completely. That clenched his heart more.
A couple of weeks ago, Arjun had felt lost and confused. Found his life going out of his controlā¦ and he didn't like that! In the desperation to take charge and make things go his way, he had taken a few decisions and they had worked for himā¦ He had Arohi back in his life! But he had not shared those plans with herā¦ for whatever reasons. She had forgiven him for that, actually physically assaulted him a bit before she forgave himā¦ but whatever! Now that they were a team, she wanted full transparency from him and she was ready to give him the same. So which means, if he expected her to spill the beans on Karan, then he himself should be clean too in the first placeā¦ that was what can be calledā¦ fair.

"Aaj wapas nahi aayenge matlab? Kahan hai voh???" Rajs confused and disappointed voice, disturbed Rashi. How was she to make this 7 year old understand that his parents wanted to be togetherā¦ alone.
"Matlab dad ko koi party mein jaana tha and he was going to be late. So he went to the cottage to sleep and called Arohi mom there."
"Why didn't he call me?" Rashi cursed Arjun mentally for subjecting her to Rajs cute pout. Her heart went out to him.
"Kyukiā¦ Tumā¦ Tum car drive nahi karsakte. Toh tum jaaoge kaise?"
"Toh kya huaā¦ Aap mujhe drop kar detiā¦ ya Romit chachu kar dete!" Raj's attention immediately went to Romit who had entered the room.
"Nahi Raj. Koi spare gaadi nahi hai to drop you. Ek kaam karte hai, mein tumhare liye garam doodh le aati hu. Usse peeke sojaana. Ok?" Trying her best to cajole him, she smiled at his sleeping form.
Rashi got up from the bed and went towards Romit. Glancing towards Raj, she whispered to Romit. "I'll be back in 5 minutes. Tab tak iss par nazar rakho, he should not get up from the bed. And try distracting him please." Rashi rushed out of the room leaving the famous chacha-bhatija jodi behind.
Romit walked up to the bed and sat besides Raj.
"Rajā¦ tujhe koi kahani sunau? Taaki tumhe neend aajaye?"
"Chachu mein koi bachha nahi hu jo kahani sunke so jaunga. Mein filhaal kuch soch raha hu." Raj put his hands behind his head as he lay on the bed, his eyes staring at the ceiling fan and face pensive.
Romit turned his head to look at the fan, trying to see what Raj was staring at. Raising his eyebrows, he turned to Raj. "Kya soch rahe ho?"
Still staring at the fan, Raj replied. "Mein ye soch raha hu ki mom dad mujhe chodke kyu gaye?"
Romit smiled. "Kyu matlab? The answer is simple."
Rajs head snapped in Romits direction. His 0 level IQ chachu already knew something that he didn't??? "Aapko pata hai kyu? Toh bataiye naā¦"
"Voh tumhare liye ek bhai laane gaye hain!" Romit explained in a the most understanding tone.
Raj shot up in a sitting position on his bed. "Kya??? Mere liye bhai? Toh mujhe kyu saath mein le gaye? Mein bhi bata sakunga mujhe kaisa bhai chahiye." Angry at not taking his opinion, Raj crossed his arms across his chest and furrowed his eyebrows.
"Rajā¦ voh tumhare liye bhai laane gaye hai, supermarket se sabji laane nahi. That you tell them 'what kind' you want." Romit tried to justify.
"Fir bhiā¦ I don't think dad ko ek smart bhai laane ka experience hai." Eyeing Romit up and down, Raj voiced his concern.
"Lekin Arohi bhabhi haina unke saathā¦ so don't worry. Ab tum jaldi se sojaao warna voh tumhare liye kuch bhi leke nahi aayenge." Romit made Raj sleep and tucked him in.
Raj smiled. His chachu maynot be smart but he sure was sweet. The sarcastic joke that Raj had cracked went far off from the top of his head, and hence he didn't take offence. Maybe if he gets such a brother it will not be so bad. After all he will have his moms genes too. Also, then he would be the smarter one amongst both of them. Satisfied with his argument, Raj turned on his side and closed his eyes.
Romit got up to leave the room just as Rashi entered. She saw Raj sleeping on the bed and gave Romit a grateful smile.
"So gaya??? Kaise?" She whispered to her brother.
"I took your advice and distracted him." Romit announced proudly.
Rashi went towards the bed and kept the glass of milk on the side table. She covered it with a lid and as her hand moved towards the switch of the night lamp, Raj turned to her. Opening his sleepy eyes, he smiled at Rashi and told her, "Agar aapki mom dad se baat hogi, to unhe kehna ki mujhe bhai nahiā¦ behen chahiye!"
Rashi stared at him in confusion and darted a questioning look to Romit.
Romit smiled and whispered "you're welcomeā¦" and then he opened the door and exited the room.

The car entered the gates and stopped and Arohi got down. The flustered Arohi which had got in the car was nowhere to be seen now. She had completely pulled herself together and looked much more relaxed. Instructing the driver to return home, Arohi stepped inside the open main doors of the cottage. From the corner of her eye, she could see Gopi kaka heave a sigh of relief, before the car pulled away.
The first thing that hit her when she walked in, was that the main lights were switched off and the mood lighting was on. She turned around and locked the door. As she walked to the centre of the living room, she saw a carpet of petals leading to the staircase. She kept her bag near the sofa and slowly took in the romantic mood that was set. She gulped. Arjun had done all thisā¦ just for her. Anticipation gripped her senses and she took one step at a time towards her destination.
Walking slowly towards the steps, she started ascending them. Each step had a small candle burning at two ends, making her feel that she is on the stairway to heaven. The flowers and all the decorations took her breath away. She started feeling light with excitement with every step she took.
Arohi entered the bedroom, her eyes searching desperately for her husband. The semi lit room looked like a bride tonight. She started walking towards the table near the window, that was set up for two. As she touched the single stem rose kept on the table, she heard the door close and lock behind her. Goosebumps rose on the back of her neck as she felt, before she could see, his intense gaze on her.
Arohi turned around slowly to lock eyes with Arjun. Wearing a black suit with thin silver stripes and a white shirt within, he looked like a handsome devil. His french beard and gelled hair gave him a dangerous sex appeal. But the thing that hit her the most, was the passionate fire in his hazel brown eyes. The candle light glowed in them, making her feel that his eyes were on fireā¦ for her. His slow and steady walk towards her just added fuel to it.
Arohis breathing deepened as her husband approached herā¦ inch by torturous inch. She was wearing a regular blue sphaghetti strap kurti and light blue denim jeans with a bright pink stole around her neck. But his lustful gaze made her feel nakedā¦ she should've thrown some more clothes on her! Arohis chest heaved when Arjun was just a foot away, his physical radiance pulling her in. Arjun stopped there and Arohi felt her body lean towards him to make the final contact that she had been anticipating.
For a few minutes, Arohi forgot the earth shattering truth that she had come across less than two hours ago. Such was the power of her love, of their mystical attraction. They could forget everything except each other.
Looking into her eyes, Arjun took hold of Arohis hands and placed a soft kiss on her knuckles. "Kaisa laga ye surprise?"
Arohi had completely drowned in his eyes. "Beautifulā¦" was all she could whisper.
Arjun grinned, showing off his dimple, and he led her to the chair. Seating her and then himself, he grabbed the champagne bottle from the bucket looking at his wife who was just staring at him, with a wistful smile on her face. Pouring the golden bubbly liquid in two long stem glasses, he held out one of them to a smiling Arohi.
Arohi looked at the glass and then him. "Arjun mein sharab kaise pi sakti hu. Mein tohā¦"
Suddenly Arohi frozeā¦ her face drained of all expressions. Her eyes widened as her brain came back to earth and processed what had happened.
'Tumse kisne kaha ki tum pregnant ho? Im sorry Arohi but I think there has been a mistakeā¦'
The doctors words played themselves in her mind and reality hit herā¦ tenfold. Her eyes teared up and she started biting her lower lip to stop herself from crying.
Arjun could not understand. A minute ago she was mesmerised and now she looked like she had seen a ghost!!! He had never seen Arohis face soā¦ so white before! His heart panicked to see her change of mood in less than 5 seconds. Keeping the glasses down on the table, Arjun jumped out of his chair and was on his knees, infront of Arohi. Grabbing her hands, Arjun forced her to look at him.
"Arohiā¦ baby! What happened??? Look at meā¦ Kya hua Aruā¦ batao mujhe!" Arjuns eyes were trying to look for a reason as they danced between her eyes and the tears that were running down her cheeks now. He felt that he was on the verge of having a nervous breakdown if she didn't speak soon.
"Arjunā¦ *sniff*ā¦ meinā¦ *sniff*ā¦ voh meinā¦" She stared at Arjuns eyes that were encouraging her to go ahead. His beautiful eyes that were telling her 'ill make everything alrightā¦ just trust me babyā¦ just tell meā¦'
Arohi looked at her husband one last time before she decided to follow her heart.
I know im taking my time in opening the "raaz" but i started writing and this was what happened š next update will make things more clear! arjuhi are going on a new journey now, not necessarily separate so dont worry š³ Plus i want to give Rash-veer a future too š
