well itz a story of 2 familes....punjabi and bengali...
iqbal khan is from the kapoor family...punjabi family...he plays the character of shiv kapoor...very arrogant...with alot of attitude and all...typical mumbai dude...and very rich..
pallavi is from the chatterjee family...bengali family...she plays the character of gauri chatterjee...she's simple...sweet...caring...very cultured and valued...and from a middle class, but respected family..
these 2 families noe eachother from awhile now...their dads, and grandparents were good fwenz in their times... so it starts off with everyone meeting up in kolkota...for durga pooja...shiv's family all come down to kolkota to attend the pooja...then, shiv's father, mahen tells gauri's dad that he knows a good boy for gauri who works for him named shashank...
shashank adn gauri meet and like eachother....so their marriage gets fixed...but the marriage is to happen in mumbai....so the kapoor's all go back to mumbai...but the chatterjee's also go there for the wedding and all...and they live with the kapoor's till the wedding...mahen treats gauri like his own daughter...so he says he wants her to marry at his house...
during this time...that gauri and her family are in mumbai....gauri faces alot of problems.....as shiv's sister palak, and shiv's aunt maya dont like gauri (u noe the whole upper class, lower class differences)...and becuz of this....they plan evil things against gauri and make her get in trouble...and gauri also sacrifices and takes the blame upon her... but mahen always proves her innocent...and lectures palak and maya all the time......shiv gets annoyed that his sister and aunt are being yelled at, becuz of gauri...he also gets involved in sum issues connecting to gauri...for which he gets into to trouble as well...
so basically...as the days pass by...his hatred for gauri just increases...but he doesnt care much...as once she marries shashank she will leave forever...and she also tries her best to ignore him... so now itz wedding time....but at the day of the wedding..shashank doesnt show up...no1 noes where he went...thas wen mahen decides that he will get gauri married to shiv instead...shiv refuses (as he hates gauri) but mahen says if he doesnt marry gauri....shiv and palak will get nothign from the property and shares....so shiv has to agree...
wen gauri finds out about this....she runs away from the mandap and goes to shashank's house to look for him...but his door is locked....den on the way..she meets a stranger who tells her to accept her fate and continue with wat she has left....she takes his advice and returns back home...to marry shiv....shiv gets reallllyyy annoyed...but cant do nething but marry her..
so they get married... and gauri chatterjee becomes gauri kapoor
and at the reception....the stranger gauri had met on the street....turned out to be a part of the kapoor family...a really close friend of shiv....anupam.... and he styl advices her to make this marriage work...
so now...shiv's onli aim is to get gauri out of his life...and gauri is trying her best to make this marriage work....she has immense respect for her husband..but he doesnt seem to care... he's already played such dirty tricks that sum of his family members have gone against gauri...now his next step is to dig up gauri's past and bring it in her future...
lets see wat he does next....but he has vowed to get gauri kicked out of the house...and out of his life...
