It is time to experiment and be different! One can see on Monday's 'romantic theme' episode of 'Nach Baliye2' (Star One) how Hussain Kuwajerwala and his wife Tina dance to astound and end up getting praised for their efforts, much beyond their expectations.
"It was a gamble. We have never scored a perfect score the past five episodes. Our choreographers, Harshall and Vithal, came up with the idea and the minute we saw
them perform, we liked it and agreed. As all would do the usual slow romantic moves, we thought it is no point in continuing without taking a risk, " says Tina.
"We are in the contest to dance, show variety and not act. The channel and production team did not want us to do it saying it may get us ousted. But we wanted to break the 'cute' image. Wearing raunchy costumes and doing a sensuous dance finally worked in our favour. I have bruises all over my body with all the lifts Hussain did. Malaika (Arora Khan) has always praised Hussain and this was the first time she praised me. It felt nice as I am not from the industry," says Tina.
Hussain, too, agrees that it was time to be different. "The idea is to believe in yourself and the choreographers. It was their concept and it paid off. The pressure is immense as the competition gets tougher. We have to constantly innovate and get the judges and viewers glued to you," says Hussain.
On Tina, he says, "She has been a surprise. I was sure she'll forget her steps in the first episode but she pulled it off so well."
"The choreographers have to be good teachers and we have great choreographers. Harshall is good at hip-hop and Vithal excels in Indian dance forms and together they
make a great team. But finally it all depends on who gives a great performance on the crucial day." avers Hussain.
On this performance, Kunal Kohli says, "With this, Tina-Hussain have made a comeback into the competition. It was a rough, wild and passionate performance. Unusual and very risky, it must take a lot of nerve to dance like that as it could have fallen flat on their faces. I had asked Hussain to buckle up in the last episode as he was losing his energy and Tina was improving. They completely bowled me over and ended up complementing each other very well."
