At night, the temperature of handa house had turned quite cold. Each member was deeply immersed in his own thought. Each mind was busy with thousands of problems which had surrounded their life in just a matter of few days.

Shalini came in geet's room with her food. She looked at geet who was still sitting in that corner of her room on that cold floor. She immediately placed the plate on table and rushed to her who was still unknown of her presence.

Geet, geet bte, shalini said placing her hand on her head. Geet lifted her head hearing that soft motherly tone again from her which started being an alien for her few days back. Chachi, she said while shalini was shocked seeing her condition.

Geet's eyes were fully swollen with her continuous crying. Tear marks were smudged on face with trails of kohl all over her face. Shalini immediately wiped her face with her saree and was shocked when she felt her temperature being high. She had fever, shalini realized and tried to pull her from the floor but geet didn't budge.

Geet, bte you have fever, chalo come and eat something and then sleep on the bed. Geet refused and said, pehle you say you have changed your decision. You will refuse khuranas, she said in her cracked voice which turned heavy due to her continuous sobs.

Shalini's hold on her hand loosed as she looked at her in realization. Geet we will talk about it later first you eat your dinner, subah se kuch nhi khaya hai tumne.

Geet just shook her head, no I wont. Why should I?? no one cares for me here so why should i??

Geett, shalini shouted, chup chap khadi ho aur khao, I don't want to hear anything else. She said with finality in her voice.

Geet just shook her head and said with finality too, I am going from here, I will leave this house and go to suhana dii's house. Ha I will leave from here, she said shaking her hand and stood up to pack her things when she heard shalini say, ha ja, chali ja waise bhi aj nhi to kuch din baad to tujhe jana hi tha chali ja. But before that think about suhana's family, will they accept suhana after hearing that you ran away from your house. You know how traditional they are, think what will happen with suhana before taking any step, said shalini and signaled at the food kept on table, eat it before they turn cold and left the room.

Geet fell on bed as she actually realized what it would cause to suhana. No she cant do that for her sister. She had already sacrificed her happiness many times for my wishes, no I cant take away this happiness from her. but what about me then, what about my life, my dreams I feel so trapped. God why cant I just die at the moment, she just wished something happens and she just dies but no it is also not gonna happen. She so much wanted to cry atleast, but her tears too just left her, dried up long back, I cant even cry now, she said to herself punching bed sill with her tiny fist and then cried Ouch when it hurt her.

In her self-curse, geet didn't notice the tears that escaped from shalini's eyes as she talked rudely with her. it pained her so much to even scold her and here she is actually taunting and shouting at her. she held her head as deep pain hurt her nerves but it didn't pained more than her heart which was actually throttling her to death. She too just left her food at table untouched knowing how could she take a morsel when her daughter wouldn't eat. All this was watched silently by mohinder who just watched all that was happening in his family but he was helpless to do anything.

Geet was just laying on bed turning and twisting waiting for something to happen and her problem could be finished when she heard the loud shrill of cordless ringing downstairs. Oh shit!! She said as she remembered her would be's last words. Ab what to do, she thought. Should she go and pick it or should she just leave and wait for chachi to pick it. Hmm let chachi pick it, mai kyu jau. He too would understand that I am not interested in him and refuse this marriage himself. With the mischievous plan she smirked within, and laid on her bed with a smile actually adorning her lips for the first time in the whole day.

On the other hand, maan whole day was busy thinking for the night to come so that he could actually call her. geet, he thought and smiled, whole day his thoughts were revolving around her. does this happens with everyone, he thought or he had gone mad. He just hit his head, nah he had probably gone mad for her, for his mishty. Yes mishty, his favourite sweet and she seemed too sweet to be called anything else.

As soon as he came home from his office, he rushed to his maa asking for his dinner. Even savitri was confused to see him hungry so early or it takes actually an hour of coaxing her to make him agree for dinner. But well she was smart enough to understand the reason, and gave him dinner with a smirk which was enough to make him run away.

As soon as he was free, he just crashed on his bed and dialed the number which his fingers were itching to type whole day. But to his utter dismay, no one picked the call first time. Kha ho geet, he thought khi so to nhi gyi?? He wondered but then looked at time, 10:30 pm seems early to sleep he thought and redialed the number.

Geet put the pillow on her ears as she heard the bell ring again. She wondered why no one else is picking that phone. Sighing, she went downstairs and looked at the cordless in anger as if her glare would make it shut up.

Sighing, she picked the cordless and said hello in irritated voice. Her irritation grew when she heard no one speak just a little vibration of someone's shallow breathing. Kaun hai?? She said irritated but heard no reply. Khote agar you don't want to speak then why the hell you call??

Maan was about to disconnect the call after several rings when he heard her voice. He was in a fix, not knowing what to say. He had never ever called any girl in his life that too at night, never. He was busy contemplating his thoughts when he heard her irritated reply and did she actually called him khota??

He raised his brows and said hello, in his deep husky voice making geet gulp her saliva' Oops she called her would be a khota, but then he deserves it, doesnt he. She decided to just play along and moved to her room. Oye hello kya' apna naam to batao' ya yuhi gadhe ki tarah chup rho ge??? She smiled as she could hear his cough hearing her tone.

Mai mai maan bol rha hu, he said thinking what had happened to her. at morning she was so shy shy types and now. No way she is mishty' actually she is a gundi now he realized. Geet held her laugh as she said, oh maan ji maine to aapko pehchana hi nhi.

Wo umm aapko kuch kaam tha kya??? She asked after few minutes of silence. He just thought what to say, he never thought what he would say, he just wanted to talk to her that's it but what he wondered.

How are you, he said after a thought to start a conversation. Jaise I was in morning, she replied haughtily making him silent for a second again. Did she want to talk with me even, he wondered hearing her rude tone but then he just said may be she is uncomfortable too.

Did you have dinner; he again asked hoping she would reply happily this time. Nhi' she again said in an irritated voice. Why? He asked a little worried. None of your concern!! She said in a snap and he could feel the anger in her voice.

He didn't like the way conversation was going. He was not able to understand why she is so angry?? Is she not happy with the alliance, he wondered. but then why the hell she didn't say in the morning itself. She could have said to him too when he came back but she didn't so that couldn't be a reason. And above all that she hadn't eaten anything. He didn't liked it at all. With a final sigh, he just decided to turn it in some light conversation or he is just disconnecting if she didn't replied well this time.

Thinking that, he finally said, oh you must have kept fast right' may be for getting a nice husband like me, he said in a humor hoping she smiles this time. Why will I do that?? She said little confused with his question. Are wo you girls keep fast na.. ki god I will keep fast for these any weeks and give me a nice husband so you should have done also tabhi to you got me he replied actually happy with her reply for the first time.

I would never do that and that to for you never' she retorted not happy with his having upper hand. The child in her was actually enjoying the conversation till now but now it got confused.

Aisa kuch nhi hai' she again said but he just laughed out loud hearing her arguing. Don't laugh' she said but he kept laughing. Then her eyes fell on the untouched plate of food, and she smiled' she bounced from her seat and took her plate and sat on bed.

I can prove you wrong, she said with a smirk while he stopped laughing hearing her confident tone back. How??? He asked. She took the morsel and had it and he could hear the chewing sound of food. He smiled at himself as he heard her eating and then she smiled saying' see see I proved you wrong.

He just shook his head and looked at watch which said 12 o clock.. oops more than hour had passed them talking. Aise to mera balance hi khatm ho jaega, he thought and said her good night and disconnected when he didn't heard her reply.

Geet cleaned the full plate and then actually realized how much hungry she was. Then she looked at phone which was disconnected. She just shook her head and smiled hoping shalini would make her free of this promise.

Unaware to her, shalini stood outside with a smile on her face. She had went to pick the call but seeing the number she left it and hid behind the curtain. When she heard geet talking to him rudely she wondered how will this alliance stay but when she ate the food, she just felt a light in their relationship. Hoping for the best of all, she went back to her room for a sleep.
