Seeing thru it all - what the CVs intend for ArVi?

Hi All
I have been a silent reader of this forum for a few months now after I became a PR viewer because of ARVI. Just like so many others here, Purvi and Arjun's love story and Asha and Rithvik's portrayal of them just swept me off my feet!

Like so many of you, I have so been wanting their love story to have a happy ending. Even after Arjun Ovi's wedding took place, there was hope against hope that the CV's would return our couple back to us by creating a few further twists and turns so as to right all the wrongs and redeem our epic pair. Again after the leap, with Purvi married to Onir and Ovi supposedly carrying Arjun's baby, I still thought a twist would reveal that Ovi's baby was not Arjun's so that Purvi and Arjun had the justification of getting back together.

This week, after the news of the donation track, I think I have finally woken up from this stupor and accepted the fact that the joke is on us. The CV's are listening - but are not going to give us the happy ending ArVi fans want. Ekta and her CV's and Zee have no intention of reuniting Arjun and Purvi but they are not going to let know that. They are going to play us along for whatever mileage they can get.
Why? Because it seems Ekta does not believe in happy endings or fans - TRPs are all that matter. They know their audience really well - they have fooled us thus far and will continue to take us for a ride, dangling the carrot in front of us. Keeping the link between Arjun and Purvi via the baby so we can't help but be interested.
However, enough is enough - they have completely destroyed both Arjun and Purvi's characters to the point of no return. The story is unacceptable and unrealistic and we would find such behaviour and character flaws unacceptable in the people we keep in our own life - why are we rooting for them in reel life? If I take a step back and not associate them to Arjun Purvi - I would not be so tolerant. I am sorry to hurt any fan's sentiments but seriously looking at the characters objectively - does anyone really want today's Arjun in their lives? He knew Purvi well enough to know how hung up she was about her mother's happiness, he had spent many a rain drenched night convincing her that she needed to think of her own happiness, what happened when they were so close to the finish line? Just one more time Arjun, you could have done it. Look at you now:( Is this the original Arjun? - eyelocking with and dreaming of the woman he loves while at the same time buying gifts and keeping up the facade of a dutiful husband and managing to convince his wife that he now truly loves her (Ovi's speech today). Yuck. ArVi are going to die a slow death - CV's know how to pacify Arjun fans with a few eye locks and emotional expressions (Rithvik is a pro here) and Arjun's hero status will be maintained. Why are we accepting this?

At the same time, Ovi has turned into an angel (overnight! - totally unconvincing) but for the story to progress the way the CVs seemed to have planned she needs to so we think Arjun deserves her and not Purvi. Purvi bears no resemblance to her former self, so meek, just there to be walked all over by the D clan. In the ArVi equation she will now probably become the villain, the one who is not reciprocating Arjun's love - no matter - the way the story seems to be heading she has to be undeserving of Arjun's love so he can turn to Ovi and anyway she has Onir, Ekta's fast track hero waiting in the wings. Onir and Ovi are very much part of the show going forwards, they will not disappear.

Sorry for the long post and the rant but I have had enough of waiting for a reunion when there really is not one forthcoming. High time to accept reality. What could have been a beautiful love story gone down the drain.

CVs/BT are really smart - they have identified their different audiences: the conservative Indian public, fans of ArVi, fans of Arjun (Rithvik), etc. and they will alternatively throw crumbs to each and string us along.

Keep watching PR.😉

great post. If CV's think they can fool their audience then they are wrong. The loyal fans of Arjun and Purvi will leave this crappy show if they don't show that good wins over evil. I for one do not believe that Ovi has become a good person overnight. Don't ruin a child's life by giving him/her to a person who separated his/her parents.

CV's you will lose ARVI fans if you show the baby donation crap.

Dear Gina,

Congratulations on a very lucid and candid post.I agree about the show plumbing new depths, but it is a major mistake to think that the IF, or the fans of one character or the other, can influence the CVs or Ekta Kapoor.

Let us look back. Every single twist that the ArVi fans had fought tooth and nail, in this forum, in FB, twitter, the works, has been implemented regardless - the Arjun-Ovi marriage, Purvi becoming an unwed mother, the Arjun-Ovi baby, and now the very sad death of one baby and the donation of the other.

Arjun and Purvi have, as your post brings out so well, now been damaged beyond repair, and I, who had so much affection for them only 6 months back, now do not want to touch them with a barge pole.

A young man who married one girl, for whatever reason, and still keeps on casting longing looks at his former fiancee, regardless of the fact that she is now married to another man, is hardly an edifying sight. Now, i
f Arjun, when his wife is lying on the road after the accident, does not rush to her, but to Purvi, who is safe in the car, and this when her husband is there to look after her, then this is the pits. It is plain disgusting. How far have our favourite couple fallen! There is no way I can identify with them now.

What saddens me even more are the violent and often ruthless tirades in favour of an Arjun-Purvi reunion, regardless of the collateral damage, that now pepper this forum. People are actually calling for Ovi's baby to die so that Arjun and Purvi can get together, and they want to have Onir run over.
How can anyone actually want such things? Ask for a baby to die? It is monstrous. If this is what Ekta and her CVs have turned a bunch of very nice young ladies into, it says a lot for their sinister powers! It seems to me that it is the same kind of violent refusal to accept that one cannot have all that one wants, which leads, in real life, to rejected suitors shooting the girl, or throwing acid on her, or knifing her, and at times killing the man she loves. The only difference is that here it is all virtual, but the feelings seem to be the same.

Finally, it would be good for all of us to understand that Ekta is not making PR for the IF members. She is making it for bored housewives in the small towns in India. So, we count for very little in her scheme of things, and NRI viewers do not count for the TRPs and thus do not count at all for Ekta. Once we take these facts on board, it should be easier for us to achieve a desirable state of detachment from PR!

"...Once we take these facts on board, it should be easier for us to achieve a desirable state of detachment from PR" 👏 Well projected Shayamla ji.

Many of us felt a dire need of detachment the day, all that was 'Pavitra' in the show faded into oblivion. But all we were waiting, was the official announcement of the show going off air...its inflicting negativism for so long a time ...In the brave new world she is portraying women in such a bleak light!!!!!!!!!!!!...
I am a simple Assistant Professor and in my every lecture all that on which I maximize my focus is to keep my surroundings dew-fresh, oozing out positive vibes be it among my students or colleagues (Sorry for it sounds like being self presumptuous) but Ektaji even after holding such a strong position in industry and as a natural consequence in society doesn't she own any responsibility to the tv viewers? .
...A show can be entertaining...can have trps without being didactic if she thinks conveying positive intensity is not her buisness...but I wonder What entertainment sprouts from baby donations or from out of the wedlock pregnancies and I pity those 'boring housewives' (Ignorance is bliss😭🤢) mentioned by Shayamala ji wud enjoy the baby daan pr miscarriages when it happen in their close circle...how do they identify with such cruel acts being shown on the national tv????????

I wonder really Why in Ekta's universe 'sahanskati' is recognized as the only 'shakti' when it comes to women... and that too such idiosyncratic/whimsical Sahanskati ???
Once upon a time Pavitra Rishta and the passionate portrayal of darling Arvi casted a spell on me but now eve the written update of every Pr episode leaves me in appallingly bad temper that lasts after big elongated 10 minutes.🤢

I watch Yrkkh and Qubool Hai...( I like Heena Khan and Asad )even Saathiya sometimes for the light vein entertainment but I miss Pavitra Rishta after saying RIP for it!

I wish I could ... Well the wish list could be too long...but then if the wishes were horses even the beggars wud ride!😊

My dear Amber,

You have hit the nail on the head@ red. PR is the like the Tar Baby in the Br'er Rabbit stories. It sticks to you for good, and neither can you leave it nor will it leave you. So, I am sure that everyone here will be around for the next Great Leap Forward (with apologies to Chairman Mao, who must be glowering at me for such a sacrilege!). Why, I 'quit' when the paternity of Purvi's baby was revealed, to my profound dismay and disgust. Well, I post but rarely these days, especially when compared to my output 6 months ago, but I am still watching PR and dropping in here from time to time.

I am glad to know that you are focusing on projecting a positive and gentle spirit to your students; that is what we all need right now. As for why 'bored housewives' enjoy all this rona dhona and melodrama, why, my dear, if sophisticated and responsible young people can openly call for a baby to die so that their favourites can get back what they themselves, deliberately threw away some months back, what can one say?

On a more positive note, I was glad to see that - completely contradictory to what had reportedly been shown on SBB, and which appeared to be a cause for great rejoicing among those seeking to bring ArVi together again - Arjun did NOT go to see how Purvi was, but rushed to his wife Ovi, who had beem thrown out of the car and was lying on the road. I had gone by the reports about this SBB segment ( I do not watch SBB), and felt that it was disgusting if Arjun had behaved like that.

I am VERY glad he did not, for I used to have a great deal of affection for him, and some of that still lingers. It also goes to show that neither the SBB reports nor the precaps can be trusted. There was a prcap showing someone trying to shoot Purvi and that never materialised. As for this SBB segment, I am very pleased that the report about it was all wrong, and that Arjun was not shown as a jerk who looks out for his former fiancee (who had a husband in attendance) and not for his own wife and their child.

Gina.. Great post.. My views r d same.. There is no arvi anymore..
Shyamala aunty glad u to read ur posts after so long..
yes Arjun did run to his wife n attended to her only..I also felt that d accident track was rushed a bit.. I thought atleast at d hospital Arjun would take a look at Purvi.. But they didn't do that.. Its really sad that ovi has to lose her baby.. I really dont understand what is going on.. Frm d past few episodes they have totally turned ovi into this loving mother to be with so many plans for her child, and now the baby has to die?? Oh well just convenient for Purvi to give away hers..

It does not matter how much ovi changed ,how sweet and loving she becaomes she doesnt have the chemistry / fiery passion as a romantic partner for arjun..she doesnt have the charm ,charsisma, magic to attarct viewers.she isnt a hosue hold name.whatever changes they make to ovi's character no one is attracted to her.some people just have an instant attraction ,bond with the audience ,only purvi/arjun have that..
i am sorry but im beign as blunt and truthful ovi doesnt posses that electrifying spark for viewers.they get turned off by her.people can beg to differ but ovi /arjun/baby will make this show go to waste.they should have just killed out purvi and let she go to another serial..purvi can act in any role she has that special magic that you just love her even though her character is completely ruined.waste of screen space with ovi.
