Chapter 7
Recap:
Roshni feels she came in between Ariya, she feels betrayed by Arjun.
From now on everything will be in present, I'll let you know if there would be any past it would most liking be coloured 😉
Roshni felt betrayed more than the thought of interfering between Arjun and Riya.
She at start thinks of confronting Arjun, when suddenly she hears a knock on her door.
'May I come in my dear fiance' questioned Arjun.
Roshni quickly freshens up in her attached washroom, where she fixes herself. Yet her emotions were following, and to be seen clearly on her face. She was paler than normal and her eyes were already sore.
'Aaoo Arjun, how are you?' Roshni greeted Arjun casually.
Arjun genuinely smiled at her as she welcomed him. Arjun hugged Roshni while she sideways hugged him not lovingly but friendly.
'Umm.. Dinner nahi hoga dear actually I have this last group meeting. Like you know my special training would be over after this and we can fly back to India.' said Arjun trying to avoid the topic.
'Aarey but lets have a night out or just a dinner at my fav Italian restaurant' requested Roshni.
'Nahi, pehli baat you know how much I dislike restaurants I just like homely food remember dear' Arjun tried to justify why he just didn't want to have dinner or in particular a date.
'Aarey please na shona, I cant remember the last time we went on a proper date.' said Roshni pausing as she observed Arjun's facial expressions 'Dekho Arjun we soon will be married in few months time, and I want to cherish our old college times like we were in 12th'
'Dekho Roshni Arjun said as he walked towards her and held her shoulder lightly he cupped her face up as he continued Dear, we are not the same couple we used to be I mean 12th kitna piche choot gaya aur uske baad we separated for an year fir we were back after an year and a half to be precise.' Arjun paused as he saw Roshni's eyes brimming with tears.
'I seriously don't mean to hurt you dear, lekin I just cant. If you would like we have dinner at home if you could wait for me late night today' Arjun said with a smile.
Roshni shrugged her shoulders off, 'Why can't we go Arjun? You love me na then why not'
'Dekho Roshni I just don't like to go to restaurants yaha vale toh bilkul nahi dear' he talked softly with her.
'But previously you used to na' Roshni said childishly.
'Ya, pehle jo karta tha voh abhi bhi karta rahunga toh when will I find new prospects in life my dear' Arjun replied.
'Aaarey ye kya ho raha hai yaha' questioned Roshni's elder sister Tina whose son had brought the diary home for his little sister
Arjun addresses her as bhabhi and her husband as Bhaiya just in a form of respect.
'Dekho na bhabhi, ye bekar ka zid kar rahi hai to go to restaurants' Arjun complained.
'Di, I want to go to a restaurant voh bhi with Arjun basss nothing else, I don't care when but kabhi bhi chalo I want to go basss that's it' Roshni said a little frustrated.
'Dekho Roshni hum kuch bhi karege lekin no restaurant lets go to disco or something but please mera maan nhi hai resturant pe jane ka' Arjun softly handled her and left as soon as he completed his sentence.
A lone tear escaped the corner of his eyes, 'Ye tumne kya kiya'
Arjun walked back to Roshni's room kissed her softly on her forehead and said 'I'm sorry I don't mean to hurt you but I just can't'
He left once, he bid goodbye to everyone including Tina's kids.

Roshni sat there on her knees, she screamed 'Aaa...' as she clenched her teeth and held the sheets.
'Maine socha tha Arjun had become mature, his love for me was same but no he doesn't love me like he used to' She cried as her heart pierced apart.
'Mai kya karu bhagwaan. I'm in such a mess right now please help me' Roshni cried for help.
'I love Arjun, but his changed behaviour never ever was noticed by me until now' 'Why??? Why??' she questioned and complained to God.
'It has been almost two years we have been together once again, but we seem to be poles apart' Roshni cried.

Riya on the other hand had woken up from her unconscious sleep her head hurt a lot. She tried hard to remember why she laid on the floor next to the main door.
It was like sudden amnesia that had gotten into her, but soon she remembered how she tore the pages apart and threw in the fire.
Riya hit her forehead with her palm, as she got up she shivered as she hurriedly opened the door that was jammed in due to snow.
After few dramatic kicks and punches the door finally flared opened, she ran outside near the fire that was extinguished long back.
The only thing she could see was few burnt pages that were left; few were completely in ashes while few papers were laying metres apart. Neither of the unburnt pages kept any relevance as they were from poles apart.
Riya fell on her knees on the fresh snow that had accumulated in February, as she cried her heart out cursing herself. 'You failed Riya you failed to save them' she paused as she got a breath. .'You failed to keep his memories alive'
'Now you're past is just part of ashes, they are history that never could see the future' she cried and screamed in the middle of afternoon where the sun should have shined but it failed to show up just like her past!!!

It was just few days before the Valentine's Day fever hit states and all over the world.
Roshni was all excited about this particular Valentine's day, she usually makes plan on spending her day and night with Arjun but this one was very special to her where she had realized a little about the changed Arjun.
Why he was the way he is. Roshni tampered Arjun's cell to find Rish's phone number where she introduced herself as Arjun's fiance.
At start Rish was confused with who and which Arjun he was talking to as Arjun's number was changed. Rish thought it to be a prank call that's when Roshni explained to him how she had found Riya's isolated diary and her knowing the truth.
Roshni explained 'Rishi, I just want to know if you're still in Mumbai with Sanjana your girlfriend I have a huge favour to ask for'
While Rishi sarcastically replied, 'Abh kya un dono ko milane ka idea hai kya? Mahan lover banna hai kya tumhe'
'Dekhiye Rishi, mai samaj sakti hu aap kis dor se guzre honge but its really important for me to meet you dear please' Roshni requested.
'Okay but you would have to come to Mumbai then' Rishi said.
'Don't worry I'm boarding a flight in half an hour so see you in two days' Roshni replied with a smile.
Flashback two days back
A few hours after Arjun left Roshni on the day of their fight on the restaurant case, Roshni with her sister's son went for a walk in the cold snow.
Roshni witnessed a girl kneeling on the fresh snow and screaming her lungs out.
'Omg are you alright, why are you crying are you hurt' Roshni questioned with moist eyes as she was too sensitive to even witness some stranger cry.
'Riya quickly wiped off her tears trying to compose herself but her tears wouldn't stop flowing that touched Roshni's heart deeply.
Roshni helped Riya up, she noticed few burnt pges crumbled in her hand 'What is that' she questioned.
'Ohh nothing, sorry for the scream actually I lost few pages so I was here trying to find it all' Riya tried justifying herself though there was no need of it.
'No need love' said Roshni as she looked on at Riya with curiosity.
'I am sorry please come in' invited Riya.
'No actually I should get going' said Roshni. However Riya insisted her a lot that's when Roshni agreed and walked into the house..
Riya went in to get some Hot drink (Hot chocolate)😉 but the thing that blew Roshni was the pictures on the wall.
'Who is this' Roshni questioned with so much curiosity and a slight piercing pain that stung her heart.
'Please don't look at them they are old memories actually I never use that lounge room, I have another one here near the kitchen come on in' said Riya but Roshni looked on.
'I know I should have taken those off the wall, its been two years since I looked back at this lounge room, actually I spend most of my time in bedroom and kitchen' Riya said with a smile.
While Roshni gave a weird look to her 'Ohh am sorry I mean studying and eating haha' she laughed. But her laugh sounded more fake than real.
Roshni's lips curved into a smile, while further Riya justified saying 'I usually use the back door to come and go and keep this so called lounge locked. You can notice the dust accumulated.'
'Ohh sweety you don't need to explain me anything' said Roshni.
Both were very friendly and got along very well, but only Riya knew that book she read was of 'This Riya' 'Arjun's Riya' it was confirmed with the pictures on the wall.
The pictures on the wall were secretly taken by Sanju and Rish, when Ariya had first met in India. However, the pictures were sent to Riya by Sanju on Ariya's first anniversary. That's how she had them, after Ariya's breakup Riya didn't throw the pictures out instead locked the room up! In order to keep the memories alive and safe somewhere within her.
It was just a coincidence that in Chap 1 when Riya went home she entered the wrong way i.e. the way she didn't travel for last two years.
Roshni's chain of thoughts were interrupted with Arjun's voice 'Rosh' jaldi chalo flight ka waqt hogaya hai'
Roshni nodded as Arjun walked pass her.
They were in flight, Roshni had acrophobia. The last time she had boarded the flight alone which had made mayhem in the aeroplane. The flight attendants were glad that Roshni left as she was acrophobia and a hard one to handle.
While one attendee had even said 'Kids are much easier to handle than handling her'
Roshni's hand shivered, as the flight's engine roared.
'Hey bhagwaan ji, please baacha lo mujhe muttered Roshni praying for her life.
Arjun who was unaware for her acrophobia, 'Roshni are you alright?'
'Ya, Arjun keep talking to me' she said as she placed her shivering hand on Arjun's.
'Kya hua why are you shivering'
'Woh I have acrophobia' Roshni said it with a faint smile. 'What'are you serious OMG''
'Acha suno tell me what are your plans once we land in Delhi' Arjun questioned trying to keep her engaged with his talks.
'Woh I was thinking to fly to Mumbai I have some friends over there, vaise bhi I'm free for few days so thought of catching up with them over there' informed Roshni.
'You're informing me now? Vaise ho kar aao you will feel good too' Arjun smiled faintly.
'Arjun why don't you come with me, my friends would love to see you and ussi bahane we can celebrate Valentine's Day together' Roshni suggested as she held Arjun's arm cozily.
'Nahi Roshni, Mumbai nahi ja sakta mai I have loads of work pending in Delhi'
'Arjun, please come na please'
'No Roshni, please don't force me, I don't like Mumbai you know it' Arjun tried to reason why not.
'But as per my knowledge you never been to Mumbai na' Roshni questioned even though she knew he has been to Mumbai she wanted to look natural as she interrogated Arjun.
'Ya, I have been maybe I never told you I had been there with Mom, dad and Arjuni, actually few of my extended family members live there' Arjun blurted out.
'Ohh great then, we won't have to live in a hotel or something, this is great toh hum ja rahe hai' Roshni simply ordered.
'Arjun negatively replied and replied' but by then Roshni had rested her head on his shoulder and acted as she fell asleep. Though a lone tear escaped her eyes and lightly wetting his shirt.
Chapter - 7b
Arjun and Roshni safely reached Delhi, though Roshni had no idea how she could get to Delhi without creating a hassle on the plane.
'Maybe because Arjun was there' she thought to herself.
As soon as Arni reached Arjun's house they unpacked and settled in, while Roshni thought of something wild to do.
'Arjunnn she ran to his room'
'Are you alright Roshni, what's wrong he questioned her' curiously
'Ohh nothing actually I wanted to do something wild, Arjun immediately gave a weird look aarey something wild like riding a bike or scooty.'
'Ohh Roshni I have told you dear I hate riding bikes' Arjun lied
'Dekho Arjun I don't know if we would ever get this chance ever again, I mean when we are still childish so lets do it na please' Roshni requested.
'Nahi Roshni we cant dear, please understand karo' Arjun tried pushing the topic off but Roshni had decided to get her wish come true by hook or crook.
'Nooo' please Roshni' Arjun requested pleading in pain.
Why is this girl doing this to me, I mean recently she has been acting so weird wanting to do things she never used to do' Ohh god why is she reminding me of someone who I don't want to remember.
'Fine let's do it' Arjun agreed 'But bike kaha hai' questioned Arjun.
'It's parked downstairs, a gift from me to you' said Roshni with a wink and excitement.
Arjun walked downstairs with Roshni, he gave a good look at the bike it was brand new.
'Let's go' he said with a smile.
Arjun started the bike, and glanced over his shoulder, Roshni sat comfortably and embraced and held his waist tight.
'Ummm Roshni please loosen your grip dear its really tight' Arjun said awkwardly.
*Flashback'
'Dekho Arjunnn ek promise karo mujhse tum' said Riya..
'Haan baba bolo na kya hua, anything for my shona' Arjun said teasingly
'Arjun m serious, mujhe ek baat kehni hai aap sunoge kya'
'Haan bolo' Arjun seriously replied as he carefully waited for Riya to say something over the phone.
'Tum mujhse ye promise karo ki tum kabhi bhi kabhi bhi kisi aur ladki ko bike ya scooty pe nahi ghumaoge' said Riya
'Aarey ye kaise ho sakta hai, mom aur Arjuni..' Arjun said with a teasing smile.
'ufff baba I am saying ki don't you dare Romance with anyone like we did' ufff Riya sounded irritated as she samjhofied him
'Okay okay I promise jaan...I won't romance with anyone on bike/scooty other than you' He said all with a sheepish smile stuck to his face which was easily sensed by Riya.
'You better Mr, varna mere se bura koi nahi hoga' Riya said with a smile.
Both laughed their heads off'
Arjun's trance broke as soon as Roshni tried tickling Arjun, he sensed the bike ride being taken in a different way. He quickly sped up and in few minutes reached home.
'Aarey itni jaldi aagaye hum' Roshni questioned with a little disbelief in her voice.
'Ya actually I have work and if you want me to leave for Mumbai with you then please let me work' Arjun replied annoyed as he stormed off.
Roshni was left astonished at the scene, with that she felt some certain confirmation in her heart that there was something. No one thing majorly wrong with Arjun.
'He is not the Arjun I fell in love with, Why the change, why this new Arjun' Thought Roshni. Maybe I always failed to notice the change in him before but now'. Roshni stopped her words stormed into her room packed her bags and left from Delhi leaving a short note for Arjun.
It was Valentine's Eve, Arjun tried ringing Roshni's phone but it was unreachable for hours and hours.
'Omg ye ladki kaha gayi hai, maybe I should check her room' thought Arjun
'That's where he found, the note :
Dear Arjun,
I'm going to Mumbai early as I have a friend who would be down there for few days, I hope you would join me soon.
Love Rosh'.<3
Arjun sighed as he read the note, he picked his coat up from his room and drove down to Mumbai. Though it takes hours to drive down he was speeding, in order to get there quickly.
'I don't know why Rosh's acting strange' Thought Arjun every now and then but he couldn't get a clue.
It was Valentine's Day morning. Roshni called up Arjun, 'Hey dear how are you? I'm extremely sorry for doing this but like I left in the note I had a friend coming over so you know it was important to receive her and all.'
Arjun interrupted take a breath Roshni, I'm already in Mumbai just parking in Uncle's building where are you dear? Questioned Arjun.
'I'm out, can we meet for lunch today?' Roshni requested
'Sure' Arjun replied.
'Okay you take a short nap and later I'll send my friend to pick you up!' Roshni instructed
'Why friend I can come dear' Arjun replied curiously.
'Please Arjun no questions I want to make this special for you' Roshni said as her voice broke in between.
Arjun hung up and walked into his uncle's house, where he rested for an hour or two.
When suddenly someone knocked 'Mr. Rawte, I'm Rosh's friend Shree, please get changed as we have to leave soon.' informed Shree with a smile.
Shortly, when Arjun was about to reach the restaurant Shree took a U-turn informing that he dropped his wallet when he went to Arjun's uncle's house.
Meanwhile, Roshni had invited her friend who was just back from states.
Roshni excused herself to make an important call, and she was back within no time.
Her friend Riya was a little startled as she was asked to come to Bamboo Wood Restaurant by Roshni.
Soon she settled in but felt a little awkward as she felt the surrounding whisper into her ears.
She could clearly visualise Sanju and Rish sitting front of her and laughing their heads off at a poor joke Rish had cracked.
To divert her mind she glanced at the menu card, slowly moving her hand over the plastic on the menu card.
Few tears escaped her eyes, as she had some nostalgic moments alone.
On the other hand, Arjun had flashbacks as he walked into the Restaurant, it was nearly empty. He could hardly see one couple at one corner and a young lady alone on the other one.
Roshni rushed to Arjun hugging him slowly. Arjun hugged her back lightly 'Thank god you're on time, I want you to meet my friend' Roshni said it with a grin on her face and moist eyes.
'Tumhe yahi restaurant mila tha pure Mumbai mai Roshni' Arjun questioned in a pity voice.
'Ohh well talk soon dear, dad's calling please go and introduce yourself to her' Roshni said as she kept stealing glances from Arjun.
'I'll be right there' Roshni's voice echoed as she walked out.
Arjun's heart beat fastened though his pace was slow, 'How should I introduce myself?'
'Hello hi?
'Ohh god please help me'
On the other hand, Riya's heart beat fastened for no reason she thought, oh god where is this girl she thought as she looked at her watch.
Arjun's mind: Hey let's see if your charm still works?
Arjun's heart: Mad h kya? Roshni ko voh batayegi toh
Arjun's mind: Please let's give it a go'
Arjun's soul.. Ya say out your signature words.
Arjun's mind: What the *pouts' Its my Idea Soul ji'🤣
Arjun's heart: Shut up you two, I am beating faster than normal for no reason mujhe Riyu ki yaad aagayi'
Arjun's footsteps stopped as his smile fainted, thinking about Riya. He closed his eyes for a second and saw Riya smiling in front of his closed eyes, her dimples flashed with her eyes shining like a diamond.
Arjun opened his eyes up walked towards the table where the girl sat alone.
Arjun's tongue blurted out 'Hey Beautiful!' his voice sounded husky unknowingly. His heartbeat was double the rate than before.
The young lady, moved her head in a very slow pace, as voices started whispering in her ear.
'This cant happen' she mumbled.
*Flashback
'Riya I have a gift for you'
'Kya gift?'
'Don't question me now dear, Please do accept it as it would be the best gift you would receive in this whole world.'
Riya recalled Roshni's words that she had said an hour ago.
'Hii there' Arjun's voice broke her chain of thoughts.
She slowly lifted her gaze up, her heart skipped a heart beat or two as she was his face completely.
'Tum Yaha?' Riya stumbled and clueless how to react.
Arjun stood there numb, his eyes were moist immediately.
'Roshni said she had a gift for ''' Riya stopped as she joined the dots between Arjun and Roshni'
She was shocked she stood up and was about to walk out when Arjun stopped.
'Ek bar puchogi nahi ki mai kaisa hoon' Arjun in a very low voice questioned staring at the table.
'Main kyu puchu, tumne puchna chahiye' Riya's voice broke as she completed her sentence.
'Chalo mai hi puchta hu kaisi ho' Arjun started walking towards Riya.
'Mai ek damm achi hu' Riya said with a smile but the pain was evident in her voice, few tears escaped from her eyes down to her cheeks. She faced the opposite way.
Arjun walked towards her back, he turned her around but Riya eyes didn't meet his eyes.
Arjun cupped her face up, 'mujhse naraz ho kya?'
'Nahi toh tumhare liye toh khush hu mai' Riya said looking downwards with a faint smile.
'Jhooth mat bolo' Arjun said' and soon they started arguing.
Arjun stopped when Riya suddenly said, 'Tumne hi kaha tha "Sweets, I don't think this is going to work, we might not have a future together."
'Didn't you' questioned Riya.
'I am sorry I was confused ye nahi chahta tha mai' Arjun broke down into tears.
Riya couldn't see tears flowing down his cheeks, she immediately started wiping his tears off, but Arjun opened his arms up and soon Riya crashed onto his chest.
Riya sobbed in sadness, happiness all the mixed emotions were making her cry she was so lost that she forgot Arjun was someone else's.
Arjun on the other hand was lost into Riya's eyes, her words hurt him more than anyone else's he felt as if he found himself today after two long years. Arjun was lost he himself forgot he was engaged to Roshni.
Riya sobbed and sobbed until Arjun's white shirt wasn't damped with her tears. Arjun rested his chin on her head with few tears dropped on her head.
Riya whispered on his chest 'I love you Arjun. I missed you jaan'
When Arjun was about to reply to her his eyes opened he heard someone else sob from a distance. It was Roshni who stood at the entrance and sobbed at their reunion.
Arjun quickly parted their hug, 'Roshni voh' mai' I'am'. Sorry' voh''
Arjun couldn't complete his sentence when Roshni said, 'Don't apologize to me dear, I did all this for you because I love you, and I know you do love me but maybe not more than a true friend.'
Arjun was shocked, while Riya was sobbing hard as she felt coming in between Arjun and Roshni once again. However Roshni explained how she found a diary, and she know how Riya sacrificed her love and all just from Roshni's sake.
'You know what guys, I had a burden feeling on my heart and shoulder since myself and Arjun had got back together but now my heart feels at peace' 'Now I know why' explained Roshni.
Then she explained how Rishi and Sanju had helped them to know the exact restaurant and helped her up to set everything up. Roshni smiled as she said it all.
'Now go yaar usse jo kehne vale the pura karo' instructed Roshni after she hugged Arjun friendly.
He kissed on her forehead and turned around he walked slowly towards Riya, who's tears weren't stopping. They continued to follow and wet her dress.
Riya ran towards Arjun, and hugged him which made him walk couple of steps backwards. A quick smile crept up on his lips as he hugged back.
Shortly Riya looked up to Arjun and whispered 'I love you'.
