TOI: Tina Dutta lashes out at dating reports

It's not always advisable to jump the gun and make assumptions. Actress Tina Dutta, popular as Ichcha of Uttaran, is fuming over a call inquiring if something is brewing between her and actor Ali Merchhant. Her fault: She attended the recently held Colors' party with the actor and a reporter assumed that the two are dating.

A furious Tina clarifies, "For the party, I went with Ali because I had no car. Does it mean we are dating? I am not dating him, he is like my brother." She adds, "Please tell me, if I step in with a girl, will you call me lesbian? Or if you see me with my uncle, will you say, 'Tina Dutta is dating an old man for security?'"

She states, "It's sad to read such news. Is it that you cannot attend or walk out of a part with your friends. This means that I will have to cautious all the time because media can spoil someone's life with mere speculations. What if I was dating someone and Ali too was in a relationship? Wouldn't it create confusion among us and spoil our equation. Ali is my brother. We are in the same group and have immense respect for each other. Why don't people understand this? Reporters ki soch sirf couple tak hi kyun atak jaati hai, ye kyun nai soch sakte hai a boy and a girl can also be friends."
