So Maan babu is bit by the Geet bug! Loved all his uneasiness. How could he leave without talking to her esp when she was going through so much.
Geet's convo or lack of it with her baby brother was touching.
Meera and Vicky seem to be made for each other.
Thanks for updating...

Hey Minal...sorry for the delay was busy with a sick child. Here haven't written about the previous chapter and behold there is another one...can't say how excited I was.

Chp 33: So Geet is ready to sacrifice her career for the people she is beginning to call her family, the one she loves. I guess family is what she has waited to, carved to find. Can't say I blame her. But I also feel for Maan. When you love someone you want to give them all!! Its a tough situation for both...sigh!! But " When the going gets tough, the tough get going."

Chp 34: Geet and Maan are each other's life lines. They are meant for each other. Their joys and sorrows are intertwined...they are in love!!! Its beautiful . I am so in love with this story!! Minal I just wanted to say, I have followed this ff from the very beginning and I have seen you mature as a writer. With every chapter you are improving leaps and bounds!!! Also wanted to say I appreciate you taking time out of your busy schedule to write this wonderful story, a special thank you!!🤗

Part 35

"The latest development in the Walters versus Handa case is an outside settlement as revealed by an unnamed source. An even bigger, more interesting twist to this high profile case is the involvement of one more big name from the business world. It seems Mr. Maan Singh Khurana has taken key interest in not only the $40 million dollar medical malpractice lawsuit but also the doctor involved. The two were seen the previous day milling around the city hand in hand. But those happy faces weren't present the morning of the hearing. The Judge has set the motion hearing date for July 4th, but has made it clear she'd like a settlement outside court. Either way, this will be one important case for both the medical and academic community."

"How many times are you going to keep watching that?" Yash probed irritably and shut off the television.

It had been almost a week since Yash came barging into his office but it seemed like yesterday. He was initially ready to chop his head off for interrupting the conference call but hearing the name Geet dissolved all his anger.

However, it didn't take long for it to rise again upon seeing the coverage on every news channel. Since that day he had been constantly watching this specific segment because it showed his sister's images so clearly. It had been ten years since he had last seen her so who could blame him for wanting to just sit there and stare at her.

When they were young, Geet was suspected to be the younger of them two because of her soft features and short height in comparison to him. But no one could mistake how beautiful she was. He smiled seeing not much had changed. Her expressions had matured and the beauty that she always was only increased with age. Her smile still radiated warmth inside reminding him of their distant childhood.

These were the reasons why he wasn't surprised she caught the eye of someone like Maan. Although Rohan could do nothing but speculate based on these images he concluded they were definitely something more than mere friends.

That thought brought on not only jealousy but also protectiveness that is more characteristic of an older brother. It hurt that Geet was willing to go to a perfect stranger for help when he, her own brother, was only a phone call away. But at the same time he had to be grateful to Maan because Rohan had to admit she truly did look happy with him.

Despite it only being an image plastered on the plasma television, there was something indescribable happening between them he sensed. Observing them smile at one another while sitting hand in hand with a waterfall as their background Rohan felt as if he was intruding on a special moment. It's what made him suspect that she wasn't lonely and probably won't be if he could trust those eyes beaming at his sister.

"Hello? Rohan, I'm talking to you! Will you get off your ass and do something! Sitting here staring at the screen isn't going to bring her back to you!" Yash screamed simultaneously snapping his fingers in Rohan's face to get his attention.

Rohan pushed his hand away annoyed and retorted. "Maybe if you would do your job correctly I can do something!"

"Now there is no reason to be testy best friend. I finally have it right here." Yash waved a sheet of white paper and slapped it down on the desk. "It's a confirmation that the phone call you received three days ago came from Maan Singh Khurana's house in the Hamptons."

Rohan rolled his eyes, "Could it have taken any longer? At this rate even the energizer bunny would've won the marathon by days."

"You think you're funny don't you? It's not my fault this guy's security is bigger than Queen Elizabeth's!"

He held his head knowing for a fact if Yash wasn't his oldest and best friend he would've fired his sorry ass years ago. "Shut up Yash and let me think."

"Have I told you before patience isn't your virtue?" Suffering a much deserved glare Yash finally zipped his nonsense. "Okay…okay…I'm sorry. But what's there to think about? This means that if you go there he can tell you where Geet is."

"There is no need to ask anyone where Geet is. The fact that the call was traced back to his house proves it was Geet." Yash had a perplexed look on his face thinking how he could be so certain.

Rohan obliged his inquisitive mind, "Maan Khurana has been in India for the past week, he couldn't have possibly called me. But even more Yash, I'd recognize my sister's silence anywhere. I knew it was her all along but I didn't want to take the risk."

"So what are you going to do now Rohan?" He tapped his finger on the table thinking just that, what's next?

News of his sister had already thrown the entire company in a whirlwind. Constantly ridiculous questions kept arising from shareholders and board members since stocks were falling and rising with new reports coming out every day. They were worried if the lawsuit could potentially affect the company, if they should secure themselves. Rohan wanted to assure them but how? He knew as much as they did and it was very little.

Then there was his mother, she had been cut off from the outside world since this news surfaced not knowing what nonsense would start spewing out of her mouth. But all of this in comparison to his sister was nothing. He would do anything for her.

Since the day she left Rohan focused a great deal of energy on finding his Didi. He made a promise to himself that no matter what he'd find her one day. There had been so many dead ends and hopeless points but somehow he had enough left in him to not give up.

And as luck would have it, she came back to him unwillingly. He couldn't express how happy he was to see her safe and wanted to do nothing but bring her home. Rohan was ready to fly to New York and drag her back. But in a city so large where would he begin to even look for her?

It seemed as though fate had other plans and he didn't have to do that. The very next day he received that blank call which he had no doubt was Geet. But wanting to leave no room for mistakes, he had Yash trace the call and now that she was found his mind blanked. He had never thought of the aftermath. The always prepared and ready Rohan had no plan of what he was going to say or do to get his sister back.

Rohan's first instinct was to call the one and only person he could trust besides Yash when it came to his sister, Uncle Chopra. After the call went to voicemail, Rohan called his secretary only to be reminded he had gone to the U.S. weeks ago for a business deal with no one other than Maan. Rohan couldn't believe this, it meant Uncle Chopra possibly could have already met Geet but didn't tell him. He knew that would solely be his sister's doing.

With this much formulated, Rohan realized his sister had not changed much. She was still stubborn and unwilling to listen to the voice of clarity. There was no question about Geet coming back for her share in the business or her trust fund. That was the last thing she'd ever do, instead he expected her to take the fall like always.

He couldn't allow her to do that though, not again. She suffered more than her share since the beginning. The time had come for her to live in peace while leaving everything else behind. Life always had been generous in giving her problems but now he wanted it to give her happiness.

Sitting up Rohan turned towards Yash. "Listen carefully, I need you to find out who Geet's lawyer is without anyone, especially Geet knowing. Then get our lawyers to review each and every detail of her case. I also want all information about Walters, his personal life, business, assets, everything you can dig up get it to me. Just make sure nothing, absolutely nothing is left uncovered."

Yash quickly jotted the main points down in his head before pulling his phone out to make the calls. Midway through dialing he paused as concern gripped him and wondered where they were heading, "What exactly are you planning Rohan?"

Rohan twisted the glass paperweight on his desk and lifted his eyes at Yash with an unveiled vengeance. "Edward Walters's has written the story so far. I'll do him a favor and finish it with a fitting last act just for him."

Yash's eyes widened and he started pacing frantically. He was up for anything and everything with Rohan but this was something he really had to think about. "Man I know you're upset but think about this! What if the guy has connections with the mafia? If they find out it was us then we're dead!"

Rohan didn't know if he should beat his own head against the wall for having a best friend like Yash or beat Yash for being, well himself. "What the hell Yash? Do you seriously think I'm going to send out a hit on the guy?"

"What do you expect me to think when you say last act? Not to mention you had that freaky I'm going for revenge look on your face!" He yelled with arms in the air.

"When will you stop taking everything literally? I just want to show that dirt bag what a dose of his medicine tastes like."

"You seriously scared the life out of me!" Wiping his non-sweaty face for dramatics Yash plopped down on the sofa finally being able to breathe normally.

Rohan smirked. "I'm not that lucky Yash." In response he gave Rohan a death look and eye roll finding nothing amusing.

And in reality the situation really wasn't amusing. This ruthless side of Rohan appeared only a handful of times and Yash recalled it not boding well for the person on the other side. But this time around it was Edward Walters and they had to be prepared. "On a serious note Rohan, do you have any idea what you are getting yourself into?"

Rohan sighed rubbing his pounding head. He knew this wasn't without risks and could potentially cost him a lot if it went wrong. But this was his sister and she was worth it and much more. "There is no other option Yash. He messed with the wrong family and will have to pay for it."

There never was anything next to Geet for Rohan and was happy to hear that he was willing to risk everything his father had built just for her. "I'll go call the lawyers."

He reached the door ready to go see the lawyers but paused hearing Rohan call out. "I need one more thing Yash…Maan Khurana's number."

Yash rolled his eyes and pointed towards the sheet on his desk. "You're really dense Rohan. I gave it to you right there."

Rohan smirked knowing this was going to piss him off. "No Yash, I want his number in India."

Yash mumbled an explicit as Rohan expected and left the office knowing this was going to almost as long as the first time. Rohan just laughed lightly shaking his head at Yash's retreating back.

This time around he was too happy about the eventual prospect of seeing Geet to focus on the time that was going to be wasted in finding a phone number because it inevitably was going to lead him right to her. Rohan leaned back in his chair and closed his eyes deciding to bask in the realization that finally, after ten long years he was going to see his Didi.

I know there's no Maaneet but next update is all them! Hope you still enjoyed it! Also, visuals of Rohan and all characters are now on the first page.
