You're all forgetting something

Everyone is saying that Asad doesn't respect women, but you're all forgetting who that slap was for in the first place. He slapped Zoya because she was the person who (or at least in Asad's POV) put his MOTHER in danger, and his mother is a WOMEN just as much as Zoya is. Now, was that slap right? No, of course not. Violence in any form is wrong, unless it is in self-defense. That slap had nothing to do with men or women. Even if Ayaan had done something to put Asad's mother's life in danger, Asad would have slapped him too. Also, Asad was going through a lot of emotional trauma at that time. I'm not saying it was Zoya's fault, because it wasn't, but if she had come at another time, Asad most likely wouldn't have slapped her. What Asad did was wrong because violence is never acceptable, but seeing the circumstances and Asad's POV, what Asad did wasn't completely unforgivable either. And i'm sure that the second Asad realizes the mistake he's made, he will never be able to forgive himself.

Asad feels close to Zoya, and in a way expected her to be understanding of the situation. When his mom got shot, it's like his worst fears came true, confirming the fact, which he was not wanting to face or go through.. Putting his family on danger. Seeing the situation his reaction was expected. True he didn't try to find out what happened, but guys, don't forget at that moment he is only focused on his feelings. And his preconceived impression he had on Zoya, didn't allow him to give her the benefit of the doubt! His reaction as a human is justified, knowing the circumstantial situationss!

His actions are human...but justifiable...I don't think so.
For her part..I wish Zoya had used a bit of common sense and given Asad some time and space to gather his emotions. 😕 She walked right into a bad situation

I'm not saying it was right to slap not was it justifiable! Just saying, it was done at the heat of the moment. In such a situation the slap seemed an usual and obvious reaction. That's all. It's almost like a reflex reaction. It's what we wld FEEL like doing, but wldnt act on it. Difference here was, Asad acted on it. Simple.

Awesome post! I absolutely agree.
Asad did do something wrong, but it isn't unforgivable either. He was in a completely shocked and devastated mood, just when Zoya had come for apologising. It was completely repulsive action.

Yes, he would've definitely not reacted like that if Zoya had approached him a but later. But why happened has happened. No use of debating now.

I'm not supporting his slap, but nor am I saying that it is unforgivable.

Zoya came and said, first thing. "I am sorry" that sounded like she did something wrong! Man, bad timing, bad or wrong time to say it! Lol

Either a slap is wrong or it is OK...what you saying is it is wrong BUT...and then giving a laundry list of reasons why it is OK. So you need to decide. EIther it was OK or it was not.
