Chapter 10- Darkest Mercy

"no now it's the time you should know everything" said arnav taking a hunter's necklace out of his pocket. "whoa whoa'. Who's necklace did you steal?"

"no I did not steal it ' its my necklace'" said arnav to a confused sid. "I want you to listen very carefully to what im gonna tell you now. Don't say a word. Just listen."

"ok but.."

"listen' just listen' in the ancient history when the witches were ruling one witch named Ariana lived in England. She didn't have the ability to be a mother so she used her powers to bring out dead in to undead form and she made Eric' Eric Night' she used witch powers excessively which made the nature's balance fall. Therefore the other witches made a clan called hunters. The people who were made by eric's blood were named vampires ' they were dead who were undead to the world. During the ancient times there were 5 strong hunting clans. 2 clans from asia and the others were from Europe. From the asian countries there were the Raizadas and the Guptas. We two clans had a great connection. Many gupta girls married raizada boys and many raizada girls married gupta boys. The clans made sure that the number of vampires always stay in a minimum amount than the amount of humans because of the food chains. Centuries passed hunters killing vampires and vampires killing hunters back in return. Then I was born. I grew up in a small town in india my best friend was a gupta named aman gupta. During the age of 20 s many hunters will go through a change. A change that will change their lives forever. That change effects one mentally as well as physically. If one fails to go through the change they will die. To be a hunter both maternal and paternal parties should be from a hunting bloodline else they wont go through the change. Plus the parties should be equally powerful clans. That's why guptas married raizadas and raizadas with the guptas. Everyone who goes through the change will be rewarded with a tattoo. As in nobody goes to the tattoo parlor and get it done. It designs from your own body. It's the worse pain one could ever feel. I got mine and so did aman." Arnav paused his story for a while.

"ohh so that's the tattoo you got from the change' the one behind your neck. Ohh nice.."

"yeah gupta brothers have it on their arms' I noticed it during dinner. Back to the story. So me and aman became the best warriors in our clans. I knew every single detail about the other clans around the world so I was mostly known as the messenger. I knew their weaknesses as well as their abilities. I donno how I did 'but I knew. It was a special thing I got after my change. Both aman's and my aim was to kill the father of all 'eric' we had never seen him but he was our goal. This is my necklace. I got it after the change. i had a sister named anjali. She was the apple in my eye. Everyone thought that aman would marry her and they did but I wasn't in the wedding. Finally the day came for me to face eric. Eric was in our town and he kidnapped my sister but not to kill only to get me to him. He has been doing his research about me like I did with him. Both me and aman went there. He was alone only with anjali and he let go of her when he saw me. Both aman and I attacked him at once thinking that our abilities are enough to finish him once and for all. But it wasn't. he attacked with his full force and so did we . aman was in trouble and I knew that I should save him because my sister's life is in his hands. I didn't want her to be sad. So I jumped in between aman and eric and he ripped my throat off. (almost) I felt my life force going away from me. Eric just stood there watching what happened so fast, he let go of aman. Aman knelt beside me. I took his hand and made him promise that he will take care of anji and I ripped off my necklace and gave it to him. I forced him to runaway with anji and he did' I yelled in pain and it was then I knew eric wanted me to get rid of the protection I had from the necklace. He bit his arm and then showed it in mouth. I tried so hard not to swallow but it did. Then the next thing I knew was waking up at some five star hotel in new Zealand. I knew 'I had changed I was a vampire. When I woke up he was there with me. He gave me a glass of fresh blood that I refused 'but my body outsmarted my senses and the next thing I was doing was drinking it. I became a slave of blood. He taught me everything the advantages , disadvantages of being a creature of the night. Mostly he stressed on the advantages. I was desperate I wanted to die I tried killing myself but he stopped me everytime. He had other plans for me. He compelled me to do many things he made me kill almost every other hunting clan 'he compelled me to get information about them and he did most of the killings. He promised me that he wouldn't kill my family and I trusted him. He guided me on how to control my urges and he became a friend for me. I became blind by the advantages he has shown me of being a vampire and I did everything he wanted me to do. Then we went back to india 'I didn't know his plan was to kill the raizadas. I felt an urge to see my friend and my sister and I did. Aman was devasted of what has happened to me but I swore to them that I wont let them die and anjalie was pregnant with aman's baby. He's khushi's grandfather now. Finally the doomsday came. I knew he was up to something but my senses were blinded by him feeding me blood more and more. But I got to know about his plans and i was able to save anjalie and aman. I didn't have enough power to save the others. The raizada clan was destroyed. Not one of them were left. Everyone was killed. I made anjalie and aman run away to Russia. I had another attack with eric but it was not successful. I ran away because I knew he would be striking against the gupta's but he had already taken all the information he needed to charge his attack."

"wow arnav 'im so sorry.."

"don't be 'and to the story' I ran away to Russia. Found aman and anji and stayed there for a while until I got called from the vampire society in Switzerland. I went to the committee to be found by eric. He wanted me to be a part of the vampire society as his assistant but I refused. But he threatened me that he will kill anji if I don't be. So I did. I wanted to kill my self but I told my self that if I die, there will be no one to stop him. So I gave in. a couple of years went by and I found you, you were almost dead so I turned you. But I kept you hidden from eric. I wanted to get rid of the committee so bad that he promised me he would kick me out himself if I help him in one last task I said fine. And I said I wont kill my sister and aman. He was fine with that. And it was many decades later that he brought up the promise that I had made. It was to kill khushi's family. Aman's son rajesh, my only nephew had 3 sons and they were fabulous hunters, the trio killed tons of vamps within one night after their change. and the leader was khushi's father. I plotted down a plan to make sure that not all the guptas were dead. Therefore I sneaked out imraan , shahid, karan and akash because they were the ones to carry the names and the bloodline (now I got to know after rajesh told me about it). And I hid that the trio had children specially boys. He did as I planned and killed my suppose to be grandchildren. While I sat there weeping seeing them being killed. When he asked me whether they have children I only told them about their daughters. He always left me to kill the young ones most of the time. I tried not to but sometimes he waited till I kill them right infront of him. so I had to. That's how 4 gupta boys have been left behind. The same thing happened to khushi but I had some kind of a soft spot for her that's why I didn't kill her unlike I did with other guptas. I lied to eric that I did. And in the end he kicked me out of the committee saying that I lied to him. And here I am with you. Im the whole reason that my whole family died" Said arnav and a small teardrop escaped his eye. That he wiped out quickly.

"arnav im really sorry ' I never thought that you would ever carry such a dark past with you" said sid while giving arnav a tight hug.

"get off of me you scum bag'. What do you think I am'a girl? I was telling you a story that's all.." said arnav trying to cheer himself. "I thought you were being emotional" said sid looking at him with puppy eyes. "what man'no sentiment yarr'"

"so now what does the history have to do with rajesh asking you for help"

"umm he wanted me and you to take care of khushi and alia."

"WHAT THE!!!"

"shhh shhh im not done yet..khushi has not turned in to a hunter yet. But she will until then she needs to be kept away from trouble. And he said that he senses someone watching over them though they were all protected. He's having doubts that eric is after Khushi as she's the heart of the remaining guptas."

"ohh that makes perfect sense'.the night of the dinner'. The man she saw.."

"yes sid 'and that's why I said yes to take care of her. And I want you to take care of alia. Though she is not a hunter, part of her blood has hunting genes. Not only that after imraan's marriage they will be going back to india where they won't be able to look after khushi. She will change and its my job to make sure she change without dying and to tell her all about these crap."

"soo now you're the teacher'"

"yeah I guess so'. God must hate me yaarr' cuz whenever I try to get rid of her I end up being right next to her."

"so are you gonna tell her about your past too?"

"umm hopefully bits and pieces 'rajesh wanted me to hide the facts of what happened to her parents"

"ohh so he knows'" "yeah he does' so doesn't he suppose to be hating you.."

"he should be but he said that he has forgiven me' all the guptas have forgiven me because sometimes people had to do things that they are not proud of.."

"but still u're the reason his children died.." "yeah I told him the same thing'but it's a quality all the guptas have ..they forgive, like the raizadas have the rage'and an uncontrollable anger"

"wow' im speechless arnav' you might actually hook up with her man!!! It matches with the legend of guptas marrying raizadas"

"ohh shut up sid before I kick you' Im not gonna hook up with her..its just that I'll be her temporarily guardian until she change herself and that doesn't mean hooking up. Now dumb ball get out and take a nap" said arnav "breakfast sharp at 8" said arnav imitating rajesh's voice.

"haha sure will bye good night'im glad you finally opened up to someone'"

"me too' I feel so relieved"

"by the way 'you're the most coolest brother one could ever have ' I mean you're half hunter and half vamp' how cool is that'"

"shut up and go yaarr' and you're the best lil brother one could ever have too. Good night. See you tomorrow."

Sid went to his room. And arnav lied on the bed thinking about himself until the drowsiness took over his senses.

Precap-theres no time for a nap khushi get up and go.but how am I going to meet her. I can sneak out but its 15 minutes ride. I can go by my self can i. no way !! its dark outside. I need someone to go with me. I cant ask them to come with me, I cant take alia, if I tell alia she'll tell sid and sid'll tell arnav.' Thought khushi. "YESSS THAT'S IT ARNAV!!!"Khushi sneaked out of her room and went to arnav's room and knocked.

"gawd who would knock at the door this time." Arnav opened the door to find khushi standing there in her pyjamas. "what? Is it ?" said arnav yawning.
