Stalker Shock for Kareena
Kareena Kapoor got the creeps when a female fan of the actor landed up at her Mumbai home unannounced, and threatened to use on herself the knife she was carrying if Kareena refused to meet her. While the actor's team called the cops, she herself thought it a better idea to meet the woman - Vandana - and spent a whole half hour with her!
"Everyone got worried because no one wanted any kind of untoward incident in the building. The girl was determined to meet Kareena despite the guards telling her to leave. When things were getting out of hand, the actor had no other option but to go to the lobby and meet her for a while. Only then did she calm down," says an insider.
After spending good time with the star, the fan left, pacified and happy. While the actor couldn't be reached for a reaction, her spokesperson confirms: "Yes, one of Kareena's die-hard fans camped outside her house. She was concerned when she came to know, and spoke to her."
The film fraternity stands divided over whether Kareena's decision of entertaining such obsessive ways of a fan would encourage others to cross their limits and cause more trouble. "There was girl who ran away from her house in Pune to meet me during my Swaymvar in Mumbai. She threatened that she'll consume poison if I don't take her to live with me. I generally don't meet such people but they somehow reach me," says item girl Rakhi Sawant. "In many cases, for other celebs, I believe fans have crossed the line. One must care about the feelings of a genuine fan. It all depends on how the fan is conducting himself or herself," says actor Tusshar Kapoor. "Celebs need to keep a practical eye on which fan can be dangerous and which, harmless. Shutting the door is inhuman," says filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt.
