There was one beautiful theme in today's episode and that was the faith Aarti cultivated in Yash and the girls over the duration of the PV coming back to bolster her when she felt most uncertain and vulnerable. All those months with the "no entry" board on her heart and mind, where she blocked out all of her own problems, worries and even her past to deal with the Scindias' problems and solve each of them one by one, are finally coming back to her in a wave of strength and confidence.
The most obvious example of this is obviously Yash. The man who could barely handle himself and expected to be congratulated for doing even that after Arpita's death is now handling everyone's weakness and becoming everyone's pillar of strength and hope. It is no small fact that Yash is in the most difficult position out of all of everyone because not only is he being forced to entertain the possibility of losing his love all over again, he is also taking the risk of being bound to a complete stranger, allowing her to enter his children's lives and having to fulfill that obligation all his life. And yet we see him being calm and strong, not only for Aarti but for Prateek as well, to whom he owes nothig but indifference for all the support Prateek gave him in his time of need. What is this but the faith that Aarti instilled in Yash, that he was a good man, husband, son and father, that he could do whatever it took to keep their family safe and together. As Aarti's faith slips away and she can't hide her fear, she clings to Yash and in return he is able to offer her the steady reassurance, putting his own fears and doubts aside, that everything will be alright in the end.
The second example, and my favourite scene from the espisode was of course, Palak and Payal's sincere and heartfelt prayer to a god that Aarti had taught them to trust. It made me think of Palak's debate speech where she confessed that she had been angry with god for not sending her mother back to her, and now that Aarti had come, she was no longer angry. That statement really touched me at the time and it was beautiful to see it come a full circle today. When Aarti is falling apart at the seams and all her usual reflexes and defense mechanisms, like her famous no entry board and her unfailing faith in god, fail to come to her automatically, these people have slipped in and taken over her little rituals to face adversity, keeping her hope alive.
We always get scenes where we remark how much Yash's son Ansh is and today was one of the best scenes showing how much of Aarti is in those two little girls. I assume they were informed tersely about the new development by one family member or another and instead of throwing a tantrum or demanding attention, they went uncomplainingly to god and prayed for it to come right and for them to be able to stay with their Aarti mummy. That was such an "Aarti" thing to do... knowing that even though things looked bleak, god was there to hear their prayers and set it right in the end. The detail I loved most about this scene was how after the girls assured her that god would listen to their prayer alone, Aarti looked past them into the face of the idol, as though reminded of the greater power she believes watches over her. She had felt completely alone for a moment, and Yash with the bluetooth device, and Palak and Payal with their reminder of the benevolent hand that Aarti had always felt on her head reminded her that she would never be.
It was also Palak and Payal's prayer that caused Aarti and Yash to join hands behind them, indicating that the kids would always be there to ensure that their parents stayed together.
It is interesting watching Vidhi, Prateek and Paridhi fumble and bumble around Aarti and Yash now that the situation has come to such a desperate place. It is almost as though they felt they could indulge their own anger and weaknesses because Aarti and Yash seemed so infallible; they didn't need anyone's support to survive. Even in their anger these siblings put Yash and Aarti on such a high pedestal that they ended up gravely wronging them and realised only when it was too late. The guilt that Prateek and Paridhi felt seemed more genuine however, than the gestures displayed by Pankaj and Vidhi who though not happy with the state of affairs, seemed to see that as business as usual. I can't believe the first words Vidhi has spoken to Aarti after everything that has happened were, "what happened?' It shows how much of a loss she is at to handle this situation. She just keeps trudging on from one task to the next, not daring to think past it.
Pankaj is under the scanner now, simply because he lost his buttons, a theme that has been pervading this whole track. I still think SP is the mastermind, though, he has to be for the continuing story to make sense.
