👏👏 I am really happy that television is being taken seriously by filmmakers. Truly looking forward to the serial - trailer looks like a mixture of devdas and hddcs... what do you guys, think? will it work ?

The perfectionist producer-director is back making larger than life love stories, but this time it's for television. It's obviously a big thing for Sanjay Leela Bhansali to take a break from movies and do something else, but his debut TV show is nothing less than an extravagant and expensive movie. It is confirmed that Gautam Rode, who is currently hosting Nach Baliye 5, and Jennifer Winget will be playing the main leads in SLB's Saraswatichandra, an epic love story.

The starcast of the serial is so not happenning. Given the huge budget of the show I dont think it will last long.

It'll be interesting to see how it turns out...love Gautam Rode...not too sure about Jenny's acting though.

I have no idea what it is about but Im excited to see Jennifer Winget back on screen.

The promo of the show looks visually pleasing which is typically slb..am not sure of the story though..seems a lil outdated but given the fact that the show was delayed due to scripting issues, am hoping they have made changes..and most importantly, i hope its extravagance with lots of substance..

Jokes apart its a tragic love story...a theme beloved to SLB. Guy and girl fall in love through an exchange of letters and he promises to marry her. But the boy's stepmother throws a spanner in the works and fills his ears against the girl and her family. Boy ditches girl and she is forced to marry someone else.

Boy comes to know the truth a few year later and out of guilt, goes looking for the girl only to see that she is trapped in an abusive, unhappy marriage. Since the novel was written in the late 19th century, there was no question of the woman leaving her husband and hence the ex-lover sets out to reform the husband and reunite him with his silently suffering wife.

I hope there's a modern take... think SLB is directing & producing ! I wished they casted completely new faces though, what do you all think ?

Hope it works for him. In the past Mahesh Bhatt, Ramesh Sippy, Shyam Benegal, etc also made a few tv shows.

I just hope they didn't spend too much money on this. The more expensive the show, the greater the expectation from TRPs and so the more likely it will be axed.
