To say that Shveta Salve is anxious right now would be an understatement. "I don't have butterflies in my stomach, instead I have elephants running around! I have danced like a maniac and I hope people see the hardwork that I have put in and support me," says Shveta, who is awaiting the results for Jhalak Dikhlaja. Shveta, who has not learnt any form of dancing prior to the show, says that she has always been fond of dancing. "Like Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, that when you genuinely like something it shows. One has to have a natural affinity towards dancing to be a good dancer. No amount of training can help you achieve that natural spring in your step," feels Shveta.
And Shveta has obviously received more points from all the three judges than any of the contestants. So, much so that Bhansali has even compared her to Madhuri Dixit. Shveta says, "I am not worth being compared to Madhuri. I have grown up watching her and aping her steps in front of the mirror. She is my favourite and to be compared to her is a great compliment." The actor who is also working in Kittu Sab Janti Hai and Left Right Left feels that dance has taken over her life for the past few weeks. "I have been eating, drinking and sleeping dance for the past few weeks. And I can't think of anything else at the moment."
Speaking about competition with Mona Singh, Shveta says, "There is no rivalry between us. We are not kids to fight. Of course, their is healthy competition, but our equation hasn't changed at all." And will she dance all the way to Bollywood? "I hope people notice me and offer me a good role," she laughs. Shveta, who has been engaged to Rodney Barnes for a while now, says marriage isn't on the cards in the near future. But as of now it's only dance that's on Shveta's mind. Looks like this girl knows her moves.
