You have to wonder, if his character was meant to become so evil later...when he was talking to khushi about making mistakes that cant be retracted, i thought at some point we'll see that he wasn't a bad man but someone who was desperate for all the Raizadas could provide...I liked him as pure evil version personally but at this point the might not hv been sure where they were going with him...

I am still in episode 42 😲 ..
Indi, just read your review. loved it with all the lovely apt caps. blue aapki behathareen likawat hai and black mein mera jawaab hai."if you're gonna be two-faced at least make one of them pretty."
~~~ marilyn monroe ~~~Beautiful quote.. totally appropriate for Shyamwa ! Did marilyn monroe say this ? wow !
The picture that you put of shyam and anjali are so colorful and pretty. He was one handsome villian, must say !
two-faced, like the enemy, shyam manohar jha. named after the sublime lord, there was never a blacker soul. if we'd ever had any doubts as to his nature, thinking maybe he didn't mean to harm anyone, fell in love with the innocent lovely khushi by chance, lost his head, didn't know what to do, etc., etc., all those thoughts were laid to rest here. no need to wonder.
Such a powerful name and yet such a sinful soul.. shyam manohar ! Indi, one thing I didn't understand is the high level drama that the writers introduced in the previous episode .. showing only the back of his head not revealing his face etc., did they really think that shyam's double life is still a mystery to some viewers ? I thought it was quite obvious by now that shyam is damaadji,jijaji,'woh' etc.,
he indeed was pure evil. no compunction, no remorse, not even a shred of guilt. he would take advantage of a handicapped, tender hearted woman to further his own cause and find his way to his current obsession. the girl who'd looked back at him in lucknow that day. perhaps shyam did feel the closest thing to love that someone like him could feel, for khushi. but that didn't make it any better or condonable.
So true, Indi. Shyam was a mystery to me. He might have thought it was love for khushi but he seemed to be infactuated with khushi. Maybe he needed someone smaller to feel big ! Anjali, though she gave utmost attention / love / respect to Shyam , she was still the wealthy "Rani sahiba" to him. I feel beating the goons and thus saving khushi's honour gave him a feeling of power which he might have missed playing the role of a caring in-house damaad! I wish IPK showed us the story of shyam. How he became what he is, how did he come into Raizada's life. He was a character used by the writers to introduce drama into the love story but they didn't reveal much about him. Looking back at the episodes has made me feel, the villian was incomplete. His family ? his past ? he existed alone with no one from his side !
creatives deserve credit for the design of this intense episode, made in the model of shyam, loving and tender on the outside. violent and ruthless underneath. deception in its core.
This episode beautifully introduced us to the much liked and respected Raizada damaad. I too liked the way they showed him. How sugary his words are, perfect and sensible. His relationship with everyone was shown in this one episode.. another of the creatives awesome story telling.
a beaming anjali is at centre flanked by the two dearest people in her life. they rush to her side as she stumbles. she believes they'll both protect, love, honour her, if necessary with their lives. little does she know. the camera tells us of the men's place in her life. no shot is wasted, each one says something about our characters and their story. i have always enjoyed this aspect of ipk. not that the visual language was always very subtle or unique, but it was dealt with stylishly, lightly, without making a mega issue of things. we were invited to pick cues, not clobbered into doing so.
Reading your interpretation makes me proud to be a fan of this IPK. Yes, the story telling was with subtle gestures, not all needs to be mouthed out to be understood. I loved every bit of IPK during these lovely times.
"and we all know love is a glass which makes even a monster appear fascinating."
~~~ alberto moravia, the woman of rome ~~~OMG ! where do you get these meaningful quotes ! This applies so well to anjali. In the end, love is what makes her see him as a clean but mu'ed husband.
the other thing was music. i know i digress, but i wanted to say thsi here, as today's episode was loaded with connotation and allusion in music too. can't say i've ever seen a serial with such lovely, stirring, and polished sound track. rabba vey apart, there were all kinds of occasion and moment related back ground scores. many memoarble and nice. then therew as asr's score. raju singh who had worked long with r d burman brought that svelte, sexiness to his music that his mentor was famous for. that's how it seemed to me. i wasn't too fond of a couple of tracks, but the main ones were beautiful. today's episode had an undertoone of war it seemed to me in terms of sound. pace, drums, chanting, coch shell blowing, a sense of preparation for something momentous. and of course, shyam's slimy signature.
Indi, I had written a post long back.. music played an important role in making IPK stand out from the rest. Every important character/ relationship had a background score. Important relationships were given meaningful songs. Do the other shows have this ? I don't know ! but IPk was like a mini movie in this aspect. The story perfect.. characters well sketched out.. actors outstanding...music excellent.. direction magnificant...photography fabulous ! I loved each and every musical track in this including 'daiyya hoo' :))
everyone is beaming at the return of damadji, even asr looks relaxed,emotional (unbelievable). when he sees the man who makes his sister happy, he almost has a sense of gratitude. he would do anything for her, we know. and the boy who's never had an elder male to trust ever since his father broke it, has possibly come top trust this man, his jeejaji. strange how in three years, shatir asr has never sensed the lie in shyam, how we lose our instinct where those we love are concerned sometimes.
ASR completely trusted this one outsider. He made his sis happy and so, he deserves all the trust ..
by the time he hobbled into the temple, 99 percent of the global population knew who would be revealed as anjali's husband. and the story had been told in a way that made us feel sorry for anjali already, and angry with shyam for his transgressions with khushi.
Should the writers have made shyam's identity a bit more mysterious ?
intent on selling shyam bitwa to khoosi bitiya, she went on and on. but nothing could divert madam from the serious business of eating. certainly not stories of shyamji.
halfway to the mouth, the hand with the morsel of delicious poori stopped. the laughter disappeared from the face, a quiet fell. memories and a yearning. so much longing.Shyam's mention did nothing much to khushi but one reference somewhere connected to ASR and khushi's attention flies away from poori eating :)) Shows how much they both are attracted to each other. Every incidence in thier life is an unforgettable memory which constantly replay's making them always yearn for each other :))
lovely caps :) enjoyed all.
Episode-44
I actually admired Shaym for being a very sensible person. He was manipulative, no doubt! But the role he played to melt down the ice between Nani and Arnav was commendable. Every time Nani's harsh words for Lavanya made Arnav lean more to her.Khushi was restless to see her laad Governor.She was getting delirious and in the process she thought of DM idol what she left in AR office. It was another game of God to confront two soul mates who were still in the state of denial to accept their attraction for each other. When Lavanya asked Arnav that whether she should change herself to fit into Raizada or not, ASR told her to remain what she was. the words actually was for Khushi. The DM idol reminded him Khushi in the office. Lavanya's question coincided ASR's answer.Khushi was consternated to get in the office .Her fear to face her unknown feelings for ASR was engulfing her.
good morning, all 🤗
😆 i have a peculiar resistance to shyam. the very thought that i will have to see him fawning over his wife and in laws, being the clever damaad, is making me not watch 44. have to tell myself he is useful for my wonder man and girl's life and love story. then maybe. have a great day.
