Hey guys updated the first chapter. Thank you guys so much for all the comments and support. For pms pls add me to your buddy list to make it easier for me to send pms. I only can send pms to ppl who are already on my buddy list. I tried adding as many people while going through comments but I may have missed some 😳 Hope you like this chapter. As you can see the chapter is named, each chapter will be named after a song and the song link will always be posted before the chapter starts. 😊

Chapter 1: Scream and Shout

Rey stretched his arms over his bed as he yawned and got up for college. He sleepily looked over at his alarm and shut it off. Groaning he softly slammed his head back into the pillow, now willing to give up this coziness just yet. He heard his phone go off and groaned even louder as he saw who was calling.

"Swayam you better have a damn good reason to call me right now." Rey said sleepily into the phone.

"Dude you need to wake up! Go get coffee and get to school, we still have to go meet VP sir for rehearsal hall rights and we also need to book the music room for our soundtrack." Swayam said chuckling into the phone at his friend's despair of getting up in the morning.

"Alright dude I'm coming." Rey said finally getting up.

Taani sat on her bed, her eyebrows furrowed as she stared at her laptop. Still in her pajamas, she had been working on a new mix for her friends. She put up the volume as she heard the two backgrounds of the songs mix and smiled. Her mix might just work for the new cover she had been working on. Producing music was a talent that quite a few people had, and Taani was one of them.

Taani's phone rang and she smiled as she picked it up, "Taani kahan ho tum?" She heard one of her best friend's Aashi say from the line.

"Aashi I'm still at home." Taani said as she put her laptop in her bag.

"Taani don't you remember today Swayam and Rey are gonna go speak to VP sir," Aashi started to say but Taani cut her off.

"Aashi you don't worry, you just enjoy your morning with Rohan." Taani smiled. Even though Aashi was a dancer, she was one of Taani's closest friends, someone she could always rely on. All the girls were her best friends. Rohan on the other hand was part of the singers group just like her. They instantly had hit it off and became good friends since day 1.

Taani quickly got up and got dressed, getting ready to leave for college. When she got there she was eagerly greeted by a cute little, perky red head.

"Anya, you dyed your hair again!" Taani said looking at her hair. "And cut it short!" She noticed that her friend had hair upto her shoulders. "Auburn red, looks nice." She smiled.

"Alright, alright enough of praising me, we need to get to the music room. Your brother's girl told me to find you. Apparently your enemy charming wasn't on time today, so we get first dibs on the room." Anya said with her carefree attitude. Taani smiled automatically at Rey's name but then frowned. Enemy, she repeated to herself.

Taani smiled widely and laughed. When she first met Anya, she thought that she was a rude girl who didn't know when to keep her mouth shut, but as she got to know her she realized that Anya was just the most honest person she ever met. She was the first person to believe in Taani, when Taani stood up for the rights for singers and musicians in St. Louis. After all how can there be dance without music.

"Alright let's go before Rohan has a heart attack thinking that we're late." Anya said dragging a laughing Taani behind her.

Rey looked at the time and almost chocked on his water. He was late, Swayam was gonna kill him. Not to mention Sharon who was gonna have his head for not reaching rehearsals on time.

He got on his bike and drove off to college but when he reached the main entrance he wished he could turn around and drive away. The sight in front of him make his blood run cold, it was his best friend Sharon glaring at him, giving him her 'you are dead' look.

"Hey Sharon tum bahar kyun khari hoon?" he asked trying to give her a cute smile.

"Don't give me that look Rey. You were supposed to be here an hour ago, one hour! You take longer than girls to get ready!" Sharon said.

"Sorry Sharon." Rey said looking down so she wouldn't see his smile.

"Ab chalo, VP sir wants to meet us and I think Taani should be done with her singing. I told her to use the music room since we weren't able to use the rehearsal hall." Sharon said.

Rey sighed and grimaced, "Taani," He said with disgust as he tried to ignore that butterflies that flew in his stomach just by saying her name. Enemy, he chanted over and over again in his head. Ever since music and singing became a part of St. Louis, the dancers had to share their resources with them.

"Rey be nice she's one of my best friends and she's Swayam's sister." Sharon scolded him. Rey rolled his eyes and cursed the gods for making the music room right next to the rehearsal hall. Both rooms were right next to one another with a build in thin wall to separate them. The wall however didn't stop the noise from one room disturbing another room; therefore both groups had to have separate times of using the rooms.

"Yeah, yeah I know you and the girls have this close girl bonding thing going on. Sisters before misters." Rey said in a shrieking voice making Sharon shake her head at him.

"Hey guys what's happening." Nil said as he saw Rey and Sharon enter the building.

"Nothing besides giving Mr. I'm Always Late the latest news." Sharon said.

"Oh my god!" they heard the girls coming in as the guys sat around them by the stairs.

"I know they sounded good types." Aashi said as she laughed at Simi grinning at her.

"Haan haan tumhe toh who aache hi lagne waale hain tumhara woh jo ga raha hai." Simi said making Aashi blush a little.

"Who sounded good?" Rey asked them wondering who they were talking about.

"Taani and Rohan, they are singing a cover to Scream and Shout and it sounds awesome, ya'll have to come hear it." Rini said as the group got up ready to hear them.

"And Anya and the others playing the music and Taani using dubstep on her laptop, it's coming out like the original." Simi added as the gang excited nodded their heads to go see them.

"Woah guys doesn't VP sir wanna see us?" Rey asked them shaking his head at his friends.

"He wants to see us and the singers together." Aashi filled him in as he was lead by his friends to go see his enemy sing.

"Meri behen kitni talented hai." Swayam smiled in pride.

"Talented." Rey snorted. "They don't even sing their own songs."

"Just like our steps come from what we observe from other dancers." Sharon said making her point to Rey.

When they reached the music room Rey looked in awe at how beautiful Taani looked standing there with headphones that covered her ear singing into the big mike that caught her voice. Their melodic singing filled his ears. Rohan started singing as Taani touched a few keys on her laptop.

He saw her look down and touch a key on her laptop. As the ended Taani jumped up with a wide smile, her hands clasped together.

"Wow, they are good." Sharon said smiling from outside.

"Guys we nailed it!" Taani said giving a high five to Rohan and the other students.

"I think if we tried we could even acapella a piece." Rohan said to Taani.

"If we could that could be our secret weapon to defeat St. Teresa's this year at the Voice Off." Taani smiled.

"Arey aap sab yahan?" Taani said noticing the gang standing outside their door.

"Acapella matlab?" Nil asked as soon as he walked in.

"Arey woh joh tum sab karte hoon na, give me the beat and uski upar gana." Taani said. "It's when you sing songs with only your mouth no instruments." She clarified.

"Yeah, we heard you sing and we had to come see it. This track was awesome." Neha said.

"Thanks Neha," Taani smiled as Rohan nodded his head.

"So what did you guys think?" Taani asked them for their criticism.

"Good, amazing, talented, superb" she heard everyone randomly say. She looked at Rey from the corner of her eye and saw that he didn't say anything.

"It was okay, it did disturb us from our rehearsals though." Rey said giving Taani a mean smile.

Taani rolled her eyes, "Don't forget that without music you wouldn't be able to dance."

"Excuse me, without dance music would have no value." Rey countered.

"Actually music is the reason dance is even possible." Taani argued back.

"Oh no guys not again!" the gang said as they whipped their heads from side to side to follow TaaRey's bickering. Soon enough the argument got heated and everyone joined in as dancers and singers both yelled at each other.

"Without dance no one would even listen to your music." Rey yelled.

"Without our beats you wouldn't have anything to dance to." Taani yelled back.

"Actually it's our beats to your rhythm that we dance to. We don't need your rhythms, we just use them." Rey clarified.

"Really?" Taani scoffed, "Actually, it wouldn't be possible for you to dance without the rhythm and beats of our music."

"Alright guys enough!" Sharon yelled getting tired of all the bickering. Everyone stopped yelling at once and turned to look at her. "Why don't we just agree to disagree and respect the fact that we all have different passions."

"And you guys." She said looking at the gang who started fighting, "Why would you aid in fighting? Rohan, Anya you both know better than to get carried away in this."

"Sorry Sharon," the group echoed.

"Taani Rey agree to disagree." Sharon said giving them a pointed look.

"Okay." They both said.

"Or," Rey said as Taani smirked at him.

"We could just take care of it right here." Taani said before she lunged at Rey.

"Take it back Rey!" She said grabbing his shirt as he grabbed her shoulders.

"No you take it back!" Rey yelled.

"What is the meaning of this!" VP sir yelled from behind them.

Taani and Rey widened their eyes and immediately let go of each other.

"In my office now!" He yelled leaving.

"Good going guys!" Anya said.

"Taani why did you have to get into this?" Swayam told her calmly.

"Swayam it wasn't her fault, it was mine. I provoked her." Rey said not wanting Taani to get yelled at by anyone but him.

"You're right Rey this is your fault." Sharon told him.

"Sharon it wasn't Rey's fault either." Taani said never liking it when someone yelled at Rey because of her.

"Oh god, in dono ki dosti." Nil said shaking his head. "We'll never understand. They fight like Tom and Jerry but then stick up for each other like best friends." He added as the group chuckled in agreement.

"Alright let's go see what VP sir has to say to all of us." Rey said as the group left the music room.
