Disclaimer: Again this is primarily for a read as I am short of time to provide a good discussion.. unless you take it upon yourself to entertain yourself😆..
Ok so I saw the epi.. and had this bitter-sweet feeling and first thing that I thought of was P.B. Shelley's
"Our sweetest songs are those that tell of saddest thought"
And in keeping with this feeling.. I thought of one of my fave songs.. a sweet melancholy.. somehow.. somehow JV reminded me of that.. exact feelings..
Na Jaane Kyon, Hota Hai Yeh Zindagi Ke Saath
achanak Ye Man...kisi Ke Jaane Ke Baad,
Kare Phir Usiki Yaad
chhoti Chhoti Si Baat, Na Jaane Kyon
yes... there's something about this song.. the lyrics, the melody, the simplicity and poignance of REAL LIFE.. no dramatization..
only at a certain distance from someone to we find our real clarity.. we are so caught up by triviialities of life.. with our own emotions in the wake of other's sentiments and their expectations.. with the logistics and dynamics of situations and our PRIMAL FEAR.. that we NEED that SOLITUDE.. a free mind.. with just air and nothing else.. to take a breath and let go of it all.. and see the BIG PICTURE.. through the LITTLE THINGS IN LIFE that MATTER TO US..
vo Anjaan Pal...dhal Gaye Kal,
Aaj Vo...rang Badal Badal, Man Ko Machal Machal
rahen, Na Chal Na Jaane Kyon, Vo Anjaan Pal
No surprise there.. I gave out a little smile as Viren voiced his fear by Swamz bed-side.. that he hopes she can overcome this and make peace.. all he needed was that subtle assurance and who better than Inder- someone who has seen and known his sister.. as a WALL.. a solid wall against the lashing waves of a turbulent ocean.. that weathered many a storms in her life.. some people are chosen for such may be..
that was the HOPE.. that Viren held on to as he made his way back from Shimla.. one night.. one fright had moved on to make another journey.. such are the CHANGING COLORS of life.. and human merely provide their visage to it.. somewhere this inherent hope gave him a little peace.. and the storm inside him hit a low tide finally.. IN SOLITUDE and he gave himself the time and opportunity to look back at the big picture.. all this time he irrationally blamed Jeevika for all the big and small things coz he was that vulnerable and she was his outlet.. and in his first moment of clarity and strength.. he admitted he had been a child.. (again it was funny how I saw my dad here.. LOLLL as soon as he found his calm.. he would apologize to mom and wont even mind being the butt of our impersonations for the OTT lines😆) so real..
tere Bina Mere Nainon Me
toote Re Haay Re Sapanon Ke Mahal
but sometimes.. choti choti si baat.. sting like arrows to some who are on their own trip (aka Jeevika) and they cant see beyond the words.. their whole world comes crashing down..they keep looking for re-assurance... just as Jeevika did even in that little bit when she stared at Viren with a silent expectation.. hoping for SOME EMOTION in it.. but was crest-fallen to see BLANK EYES.. coz the guy himself wasnt sure what he was thinking.. or what road he was on.. but that and the fact that he did not once tell her - he overreacted .. got her lofty world of expectations from her perfect partner Virenji shatter to million pieces (somehow I LOVE this track.. coz it shows to Jeevika just how HUMAN Viren is.. and cant always be taken for granted and put on an idealism podium)
talking of reality checks- Viren once again got a rude shock.. after her runaway attempt during VM wedding.. this time by his own doing.. that as much as he liked to believe otherwise..Jeevika was a little more literal.. the matter of fact demeanor he had in the precap with the How did you EVER think I MEANT for you to LEAVE.. for you to be DISTANT from ME.. got a big chuckle.. It was NATURALLY UNFATHOMABLE.. we say the worst things to our closest family at our worst times.. but do we EVER MEAN IT.. after everything one goes through with each other.. they presume a right where they can take each other for granted sometimes and these reality checks are speed breakers.. that tell you.. the tires of your vehicles need repair.. more time.. more attention.. more thought.. and that brings about GROWTH...
I wont even bother talking about my fave part of the epi.. the flashbacks.. My fave ones.. the post wedding kheer chronicles.. the wet-hair wedded morning bliss.. In less than a minute.. it established.. that after more than a year.. after a roller coaster ride in the show... JV-DYNAMICS and essence remains the same.. only they have come a full circle.. I'll let you feel the scene with better words than I could muster..
vahi Hai Dagar...vahi Hai Safar, Hai Nahin
saath Mere Magar, Ab Mera Hamsafar
dhoonde Nazar Na Jaane Kyon, Vahi Hai Dagar
kahaa Gaeen Shamen Madabhari
vo Mere, Mere Vo Din Gaye Kidhar
na Jaane Kyon, Hota Hai Yeh Zindagi Ke Saath ...
