Gauri Shinde: 'No plans for English Vinglish sequel'

Gauri Shinde has said that she has no plans to make a sequel to English Vinglish.

Shinde made her directorial debut with the film, which starred Sridevi as an Indian housewife struggling to cope with the language barrier while living in the US.

Speaking to IANS, she said: "No plans as of now. People are asking and they are interested, but no plans."

Shinde, who is married to the director of Paa R Balki, added that she has no new projects lined up at the moment.

"Not yet. I am hoping for ideas to come to me so I can start soon. His (Balki's) ideas he is using for himself. I am hoping if he can give I will be happy."

The film marked Sridevi's comeback to Bollywood and won her accolades for her performance.

The 47-year-old actress said that English Vinglish changed the lives of many women.

It was reported that the film had inspired young Dalit girls to learn English.
