While Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of Jaaneman , believes that the movie will set a new benchmark for Hindi cinema, the movie's stars say the film will not just entertain but also strike an emotional chord with the viewers.
A love triangle between a dude, a nerd and a beauty, 'Jaanemann' marks the directorial debut of Shirish Kunder , the husband of choreographer Farah Khan.
Akshay Kumar calls Shirish Kunder a "genius". Preity Zinta calls him "a filmmaker with a very fresh approach". Salman Khan believes Shrish will "go a long way" in Indian film industry. Ask Shirish and he describes himself as "a dreamer".
And as the first creation of this "dreamer" is about to make it to the theatres on Friday, hopes and huge money are riding high on the box-office fate of 'Jaanemann'.
But the movie's stars are confident of the final product.
In Preity's opinion, 'Jaanemann' will be liked by people of all ages, from children to elderly.
"The comedy in the film will win the hearts of children and teenagers, while the emotional scenes will strike a chord among the adults," says Preity.
In fact, Preity has organized a special screening of the film for children.
Akshay says 'Jaanemann' is not a slapstick comedy like his previous film with Salman, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi , was.
"It is a movie with soul. It has comedy, but it also has genuine emotion that touches you. It will make you cry," says Akshay.
