Boyfriend Gaurav Chopraa gifted her a pup on her birthday

When Narayani Shastri learnt that her boyfriend Gaurav Chopraa secretly got her a pup on the eve of her birthday, she jumped with joy. The actress already has a nine-year-old Pomeranian named Perky. However, she was completely unaware about Gaurav's plans to get her a pup that she's fondly named Kajri.
"I remember telling Gaurav about getting myself another dog. I love dogs and thought I could do with another addition to my family. This year, he secretly took my niece into confidence and without my knowledge, got me a pup. I was obviously happy and totally surprised."
What's in a name?
It didn't take long for Narayani to figure out a name for her pup. "She's all black, and has these piercing dark eyes. So I came up with the name Kajri. It's perfect for her."
Incidentally, Kajri has six fingers on her hind legs, and so Narayani contemplated calling her Hrithik before changing her mind! But on a more serious note, Shastri says Kajri is very special to her. "I think she's special and has come to me for a reason. At the moment, all my attention and time is devoted to making sure she's alright."
Fun and games
Shastri adds that Perky did take some time adjusting to her new friend. "Now they are really close, and Perky has really taken to Kajri. But it takes me some time to initiate these two to play. But once they start jumping, they totally ignore me and carry on with their games."
Now that Kajri is an intrinsic part of her life, she has one more person to come home to. "Since she's small, I have to be around her for most of the time. She looks very sweet and innocent, but is a complete devil and loves biting my hair and running around."
The actress has always had dogs in her family and feels they add joy to her life. "They are special in every way. They love you unconditionally, don't ask for anything, and stand by you always."
