I thought the same thing about Asad! The thing is, even though he isn't a dad yet, and we are obviously far from seeing that on the show, he is very much a father figure to his younger siblings, especially Ayaan. I think each son responded to their dad's spinelessness and his mistreatment of their mothers by clinging to each other: Asad became the father he never had, and Ayaan saw the father he needed in Asad. It would have been great to see some common ground covered there.
Today was much better so I guess the PHs sorted out certain things over the weekend. I am just glad they didn't rush either show and left plenty of drama to unfold over the week.
@Sanjukta: Thanks for your view! I hoped the summary helped you at least understand today's episode. I agree that PV and QH each have their own special traits, but when they are forced together by the channel, it would be nice to explore the common things as well. That is what I was trying to say.
@Yaariyan: Thanks!
@jeenia123: I completely agree! Dilshad could have been given a lot more scope in the court scene, being a single mother. The judge said that the jury were there because they could give expert advice... so I wish they had shown Dilshad saying something about parenting, since she successfully brought up two kids on her own. The way they did the MS really didn't have much meaning.
@ranz: Yeah, but more than the writers, I think it is the channel who tries to play to the gallery because this is a numbers game to them, more than a creative process. However, I do agree that with a little more thought, this forced merger could have turned into something remarkable!
@Mudra!!! We were just wondering about all the birds who have flown the nest in DC the other day. It is so nice to run into you like this! I agree. I am really liking the progress of QH so far and I hope they maintain the emphasis on all their characters they way they have started out.
@Kriti: Thanks for your response and glad you enjoyed the MS!
@Indu: Thanks! That is precisely what I was going for: how could this have been done more organically? QH is going great so far. The family dynamics are interesting and the characters are fairly nuanced. I am a bit weary of this production house, because they tend to zero in on the lead couple and sort of forget the supporting cast until its too late and the audience has lost connection with anyone but the leads, but I sincerely hope they have learned from their past mistakes in the story-writing department and continue with the great beginning in QH's case!
@neenabinu: Thanks!
@luvbbat: Aw, thanks for that compliment! I was pretty happy with today's episode, as opposed to Friday's.
@chicksoup: I totally get what you are saying, but to me, there was a lot that could be done without giving away any important story elements. Having Zoya think about her quest to find her own birth father through a soliloquy would not have changed the story in the least, nor would it have clued Asad in. But they could have shown Zoya suddenly going morose and Asad observing her. They didn't have to reveal anything to Asad, but a small interaction like that would have connected both the shows in a more meaningful way, I feel.
I am glad you enjoyed the romance sequence, because even though Yash is in the stage where he demands kisses from Aarti, they are not really a couple that do the "romance' thing separate from everyday. All of their romance has been very situational and in that context this felt out of place. I didn't mind both couples being there at the same time, but it was the twirling and the chasing that sort of looked odd to me. Of course, this is just one opinion.
@Rita: Thanks!
@Tameeha: I will try, if time permits.
@adeeti: Thanks!
Thanks all for some interesting discussion. I must say once again that today was much better than what we saw on Friday! Much better pace and flow of the whole episode, as well as the connection of Prahsant and the goons. It was nice interacting with you all! Enjoy QH, and you are always welcome over at the PV forum! 😃
