As for SP, that is true if you look at it just through the lens of what is happening currently. But in the past one year, Aarti has struggled and fought (in a nice way) for a place in this family.
She did something that SP and the rest of the family couldn't and that is bring both Yash and Palak out of their respective traumas. She stayed put by the family's side even when things were the roughest for her. So while SP is entitled to feel betrayed and angry at Aarti, he is way off base ethically and morally siding up with Prashant and trying to separate Yash from Ansh who he has come to love as his own son and Aarti.
My opinion is when a person has done more good than bad, at some point you have to start evaluating why the person committed the crime she did. And maybe SP will figure it out in the days to come but I don't think I can ever bring myself to say that I understand what SP is doing. I did when he was at first angry with Aarti. Not any more though. He has truly crossed a lot of lines. And like you mentioned he will realize he has pushed his son further away instead of bringing him closer.
