Kareena Kapoor says no to item songs!
The brutal gang rape of the 23-year-old para medical student in Delhi shook the whole nation and many raised their voice against the safety of women in our country being at stake.
For those unaware, the girl, accompanied by her male friend, was gang raped in a moving bus in Delhi. She was later admitted to a Delhi based hospital owing to the grave injuries she had faced. Though she fought a lot against death but couldn't win over it and finally succumbed to the pain and anguish. Her death has certainly turned to be a shame for the entire nation and the so called democracy we boast of.
Meanwhile, the question over women's being looked upon as mere objects to sensuality still stand unanswerable. And certain sections of the society highly blame this upon the obscenity showed in most of our Bollywood films. The actresses who rake in big moolah through the skin showing acts of theirs have been accused of demoralizing the image of women before all.
While many have defended this citing the reason that Bollywood can't be blamed for this, there are a few who have admitted the same. Buzz has it that Kareena Kapoor and many others have pledged not to do any item number further.
It is notable that Kareena has done sensual songs like Yeh Mera Dil from Shahrukh Khan starrer Don, Halkat Jawani from Heroine and the very recent Fevicol Se from Dabangg 2. And after shaking her booty on such sultry numbers, she has vowed not to do it anymore.
Not just her, the likes of Neha Dhupia and Ayesha Takia too have made up their minds to stay away from item songs.
Well, we do appreciate the decision taken by them but it is yet to be soon how long they will stick upon it!
