A/N: Can I just say'..HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO RITCHELLE! It's her birthday on 20th January and I was thinking what to do? So here are these few chapters for you! I hope you enjoy them! I was considering updating them on Tuesday after my exams but then thought might as well update them on your birthday, and then do the rest after my exams! I have a plan for the next six chapters or so, which will be written and updated as soon as I can! So Ritchelle, if it wasn't your birthday I probably wouldn't have been motivated to do this, haha. Make sure you have fun okay!?

CHAPTER THIRTY ONE

The plane ride was' interesting.

Maanvi and Virat had sat in the first class compartment, courtesy of Viren's negotiation skills, that and the fact that people may disturb them. After all, who wouldn't want to meet the Prince of Chandrilasia and Duchess of Chandia?

As soon as they stepped on, they were instantly welcomed by the vast amount of staff who assured them that they would have a good time on the plane. "If that's the case then why don't we holiday here?" Maanvi laughed as she whispered into Virat's ear. He smirked as she became at complete awe with the technology on the plane.

"Holiday and here? Then where else would we do our honeymoon?" He whispered back as the flight attendant showed them to their seats.

Maanvi rolled her eyes, a strange tingle running through her spine at the mere mention of honeymoon. She was about to reply when Maanvi noticed the flight attendant looking at them a bit too peculiarly. She creased her brow, realising that the attendant was oogling Virat. "We?" She whispered back. "Forget we, looks like the flight attendant is more interested in you."

Virat looked at her confused. She nodded towards the light brown haired woman, dressed in a deep red mini dress and was smiling dearly at Virat. He gulped, not liking the way she was looking at him. "Yeh? Chi!" He said with a disgusted tone, looking away.

Looking intently at the flight attendant and then at Virat, Maanvi laughed a little bit too loudly resulting in the woman giving her a strange look. "Areh, what's wrong with this poor girl? She looks okay."

"Okay? Is your eyesight okay?" He replied. "Can't you see her short, short dress? Look at how much skin is showing!"

"So? Don't you like it?" She teased him. The speakerphone commanded everyone to put on their seatbelts as the plane was taking off. Virat helped Maanvi with fastening hers whilst he then fastened his own.

"I like girls who are traditional, not like her. I like girls like Kajol more than Katrina Kaif. And she's definitely like Katrina."

"Oh really? Then what does that make you? Shahrukh Khan?" She nudged him as he took out the miniature television on the head of the seats and placed it on.

"Why not? Aren't I as handsome and dashing as Shahrukh Khan?" He smirked.

"Let me think." She pretended to stroke her imaginary beard as she gazed into the far distant. "Nope!" She replied with a giggle.

Virat faked a gasp as he began to start tickling her. Maanvi tried to push him away but was not able to stop herself from laughing. The brown haired flight attended made a face as she saw Virat's attention on Maanvi. She walked away with a slight attitude, leaving the married couple to themselves.

"Virat! Stop'.it'I'.can't'.breathe!" She said gasping for air.

He pulled away letting her breathe before watching her. He stared at her whilst she too looked at him, not even blinking. He noticed a strand of hair falling onto her face, before gently moving it behind her ear. She closed her eyes at his soft touch, his skin touching hers. He pulled her closer and whispered into her ears. "You're like Kajol."

She stared at him, her breath stopping. She stared at his beautiful face, and glanced at his moist lips. She looked away, blushing.

"Breathe Maanvi, breathe." He smiled as she pushed him away and adjusted herself in her seat. She pulled her hair back, the edge a bit sweaty from being that close to him.

"Excuse me, Sir? Can I get you anything?" The flight attendant gave Virat a smile, oogling him again but this time it was not so subtly. She stared at Virat, totally ignoring Maanvi.

"Snake! Who does she think she is? Ignore Maanvi Chaudary! I mean Mrs Maanvi Virat Singh Vadhera." Maanvi thought, pulling a face.

Virat tried not to groan. He put on a completely fake smile. "I don't know," He looked at Maanvi, holding her hand quite tightly, making sure that the attendant was looking at his action. "My darling wife, would you like anything?"

Maanvi wondered what he was up to before noticing the apprehension on the snake's face. She smirked. "This is going to be interesting." She thought. She placed her other hand on Virat's hand before pulling him towards her. "There is one thing I would want'"

He trailed his finger across Maanvi's face as she pretended to blush. "Oh really? Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" They both took a slight, hidden glance at the snake before both trying to contain their laughter.

"What are you thinking, my pyaar pyaar husband?"

He kissed her hand as Maanvi let out a "Hai!" The snake looked at them both with a shocked expression. He glanced at the attendant who was hoping that he would notice her. She almost swooned as he gave her the most adorable smile. "Can you'"

She instantly came towards him. "Yes Sir?"

"Can you'.please leave?"

She stopped. "Huh?"

"I want to spend some time with my wife, alone." He smiled, looking back at Maanvi. The snake let out a hump before giving Maanvi a sharp stare. She rolled her eyes and stomped off leaving Maanvi and Virat to crease up laughing.

"Did you see her face?" Maanvi said through her laughter. "God, it looked like she was about to kill me with her cold hands!"

"I'm pretty sure she would have eaten me first!" Maanvi laughed hard at his reply. "Why are girls like this?" He asked rhetorically

"Bhool gaya? Because you're Shahrukh Khan, damn it." She teased him.

"Nope, I'm just Virat."

She smiled. "Then in that case, I'm just Maanvi."

He shook his head. "Wrong. You're Mrs Virat Singh Vadhera, Duchess of Chandia."

Her heart began to get warm as he spoke. She felt like she was at home, just with him. She blushed, looking away before taking a breath and looking back. "And you're Virat Singh Vadhera, THE Prince of Chandrilasia."

"I actually don't care about being a Prince, I just want to be Virat." He replied solemnly.

"But society doesn't accept that, I mean you were born a Prince and hence you'll always be seen as a Prince. And besides, it's not really a bad thing."

"Really?" He rolled his eyes. "Tell me one good thing about being a Prince."

She thought for a second. "People respect you,"

He scoffed. "People always want something from me. Whether it's money, access into the Royal society or just a quick access into fame. Whenever something goes wrong, people always blame us as if we're the one in wrong."

"Virat, come on. If you learn how to, you know, behave properly when people do this then I'm sure that they'll respect you. And besides, weren't you the one who told me that you'll be there for me with all this Duchess thing?"

He nodded, remembering how he had told her that he'll never leave her. That was a promise, one that he intends to keep to, whether life allows it or not. Jab Tak Hai Jaan. "Okay, I remember." He sighed. "So tell me Maanvi-ji, what else is good about being a Prince."

"Hm, You get to make a difference." He smiled at her reply. "You know what, I've always thought that I'd help people, that I'd do something big ' change something. I never thought that I'd actually be able to do this."

"What do you want to do?"

Maanvi thought back to the small village of Safah, in the district of Serena where many people had died from diseases. She thought about the way people were so unprivileged, not able to afford the simplest of things: water, education, proper food. It was the same village that made her lose trust in the Royal family. She looked back at her husband, "You remember the Village of Safah?"

"The village you told me about before? The one you thought that we didn't help?"

She nodded. "Mm, I want to open up an orphanage there. I want those without parents and those without a home to have somewhere to live. Not only that, those who can't read or write, I want to help them, give them an education." He smiled at her. "What? Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I'm just thinking that you already know how to act like a proper Duchess, you don't really need my help." She smiled at his compliment.

"I don't know whether or not I'll be able to do this'"

"Hey, if I can't say anything about being a Prince then you can't say anything about your dreams. And besides I think it's a really good idea."

"Really?"

He nodded. "Yes, you should '"

"WE should." She corrected.

He smiled. "WE should build a great big house for everyone. And outside'" He thought for a second. "Outside we'll have a great big greenery, there children will play until the sunset arrives and inside there'll be so many toys and games that no one will feel left out. There'll only be happiness, and only happiness." He blurted out.

Maanvi stared at Virat in awe. She couldn't help but think how cute he was being, talking about their future plans.

Their future.

Would they ever have a future together?

Sure they were husband and wife but not in the true sense. Would they actually take their friendship to the next level? She couldn't help but think about that what if? What if they did? What if they actually did fall in love? What if they did have a future together?

Maanvi shook off the thought as she glanced at Virat. "Besides, there's one more reason of the perks of being a Prince, which you've forgotten."

She creased her brow, trying to think what. "What?"

It felt as if time had indeed stop and she had died and gone to heaven seven times, with one simple sentence, she was gone.

He smiled. "I got to marry you."

CHAPTER THIRTY TWO

"Can everyone please fasten your seat belts? We are landing in London in a few minutes, thank you." The voice on the speakerphone called out as Maanvi and Virat started to fasten their seat belts together. The snake came back again as Virat let out a groan. Maanvi chuckled before pulling the seatbelt holding Virat towards her.

The woman looked at Maanvi before asking her, "Can you please stay in your own seats as the plane will be landing in a few minutes." She gave her a fake smile before looking at Virat again.

Maanvi rolled her eyes. "I'll stay in my seat when you stop looking at my husband."

Virat gasped a laugh as the woman stood up straighter. "I don't know what you're talking about." She spat out.

"I know my husband is good looking and hot and all but please, keep your eyes off him. He is only mine. And besides I have the mangalsutra and sindoor to prove it." Virat awed at her reply, his heart warming. It took everything in him to stop himself from pulling her into his arms and hugging her, tight.

The snake didn't reply, merely huffing and puffing her attitude and leaving. Maanvi smirked, knowing that she had won the battle. "So, I'm good looking and hot, huh?" Virat teased.

"I only said it like that'" Maanvi blushed.

"Oh really?" He replied, clearly not believing her. He didn't know what it was, the way she had spoken about him like that, it really pleased him. He wanted her to say it again but stopped himself as he watched her blush. He liked that about her, she wasn't the typical girl. Sure, she loved to annoy him and tease him sometimes but there was times when she would get embarrassed and blushed. He loved the way she would say something against him, defend herself after blushing. He didn't know why but there was just something that he liked about that.

"Please, do you seriously want her to look at you like that again?" She ordered him, almost.

He shook his head. "Hell no!"

"The plane is landing, final warning, please make sure you have your belts fastened. Thank you." The voice above them spoke again. Everyone quickly quietened down as the plane leaped down and onto the runaway. It took a few minutes before the engine stopped and everyone started to make their way out.

Maanvi felt uneasy as she walked along the plane towards the boarding room and into the airport where people were waiting for others. She watched many people standing in the long queues, many were Caucasian but there were a few Indians with their families. Maanvi suddenly felt cold in her salwar suit, the harsh weather hitting her skin. She rubbed her shoulders, shivering, groaning that she hadn't kept a jacket with her.

Virat, who had noticed his wife was feeling uneasy, stopped her. He took off his own jacket before giving it to her. Maanvi instantly shook her head. "No, it's fine. Seriously'" Virat rolled his eyes, taking her arms apart and forcefully dressing her. "Virat! Really it's fine!"

"You're cold, Maanvi."

"Won't you be cold, too?"

He shrugged. "I'm fine, besides if you get ill, who would I talk to? That flight attendant? Never!" He said trying to make her laugh. It worked. Maanvi laughed, leading to other's around her to give a peculiar stare. She blushed, quietening down.

"So, Mr Vadhera'.where are we going?" She asked.

Virat looked around the airport, trying to find the person who was attending to them. He scanned the crowd before stopping to look at a bald man with a slight beard. He was short, wearing a black suit and tie, whilst holding a "Vadhera" sign board. "Come on, Maanvi." He spoke, holding her hand tightly and pushing through the crowd.

The man widened his eyes as Maanvi and Virat came into view. He placed his board towards the side before placing his hand forward. "Good to meet you, Sir." Virat nodded as he shook the man's head. "Mr Viren Vadhera had called and told me about you. I'm Siddarth Malhotra and I will be showing you around this week." The man trailed towards Maanvi before placing his hands together and greeting her. "M'am, how was the plane journey, I hope everything was fine? Nothing was bad, no?" He spoke really fast. Maanvi struggled to understand what he was saying and simply nodded, holding Virat's hand tightly as possible.

She gave Virat a glance, and he understood her awkwardness. "Everything was fine, thank you." Virat replied. Siddarth nodded, smiling before asking them to walk down.

He was nervous, after all it was his job to make sure that the Prince and the Duchess had a good time in London. He had to make sure that their activities and sight seeing was planned and that no one realised their link with the Chandrilasian Royal family. After all, that would be extremely bad especially for him, in the eyes of the Royals.

There was a slight mist in the air, everywhere people were shivering, some pulling their coats tightly against their body whilst they rushed towards warmth. The late December snow had just started to arrive, whitening against the dullness of the City. "London is cold this time of the way, is Chandrilasia like this too?" Siddarth asked as he opened the door to the car and told Virat and Maanvi to get inside. He walked towards the front and opened the driver's door before sitting in.

"Not as cold as this," Virat replied, shivering. Maanvi felt bad having to take his coat whilst he was blatantly cold. She decided to take it off and hand it back but he stopped her with the mere look on his eyes.

Siddarth grinned as he placed his car into ignition and drove on. "Very well," He slowed down as the red light stopped the traffic. "I'll get your luggage before tomorrow, but for now I'll take you to the Hotel." He said, accelerating again.

Virat hummed an okay as he looked out of the cloudy window. He noticed the lights of the many shops had begun to turn on and the street lamps started to shine as the evening fell into a darkness. Maanvi yawned, knowing that back in Chandrilasia it would have been night time. She pulled Virat's jacket close to warm herself but couldn't help the sleep that was coming her way. She hadn't realised when she had closed her eyes, just to take a few winks, before falling deeper and deeper into a trance.

Siddarth pulled the car up to a small Hotel, exclusive to only certain members. There was a short stop as the driver pulled up his I.D before being able to park. It was mainly a holiday resort for exclusive people, those who wanted to have their own privacy. Visitors were able to have their own tour guide ' such as Siddarth ' who showed them the perks of the London City life. Besides for people who were unknown in the busy city, this was a good way to visit around the places.

"We're here." He spoke as he stopped the car and got out.

Virat looked towards Maanvi who was sleeping. He smiled as he watched her sleeping soundly, as if there was no care in the world. He opened the door out wide before picking the sleeping Beauty up slowly and carrying her out.

Siddarth smiled, looking at the couple. He was a middle aged man, married with two young children. He somehow saw himself and his wife within Maanvi and Virat. He would do anything for his wife, just like how Virat could do anything for Maanvi. He grinned by himself, wishing that no one would ever separate these star cross'd lovers. "Shall we go in?" Virat's question took his out of his thoughts as Siddarth turned around and nodded, whispering an apology.

He took Virat to the front desk where the manager gave him the key to his suite. Almost everyone stopped their job or conversation to look at Virat carrying Maanvi. There was a slight thought of curiosity involved, whilst some were in awe at the love. Virat didn't care about what people thought of him, not back then and surely not now although he was more aware of his actions. He would do anything for Maanvi, because she is his responsibility, only his.

"Sir, we have kept aside the best room for you and'" The manager looked at Maanvi who was curled up in Virat's arms. "'Madam." He smiled.

"Thank you." Virat replied as he took the keys, making sure that he didn't drop his wife.

"All you have to do is take the lift to the fourth floor and it's room number seven." The manager stated. Virat nodded, trying to remember the information. "Would you like me to take you there?" He asked, wondering if Virat would manage with Maanvi in his arms.

Virat nodded, "No it's okay. I'll get there." He gave Siddarth and the manager a quick smile before carefully walking towards the lift and waiting for the doors to slide.

Once they were gone, the manager turned towards Siddarth. "Don't they make such a good couple?" He said.

"Absolutely." Siddarth replied to his Boss. "May God keep their relationship safe." He prayed before going back to the airport to get their luggage.

The door slid open and Virat stepped into the empty lift. He felt Maanvi wriggle in his arms, but she was so tired that she didn't even wake up. He smiled, watching her. He felt as if he could just watch her forever. She was just so beautiful, even in sleep. The door closed again as he pressed the number 'four' on the list of floors, there was a slight wait as the lift started to travel upwards.

"Floor four." The operator's voice above them spoke as the door opened. Virat peered out to see no one was there before stepping out. He walked across the red carpet towards room no. seven.

Hastily turning the key in the lock, Virat managed to open the door after a few good attempts. He used his back to push the door open and stepped inside the room.

Darkness engulfed the couple. At the far side there were a few candles illuminating the area around the bed. Deep red rose petals were lined into a group to make a heart shape on the bed whilst more were scattered across the floor. Virat felt Maanvi hold tight against his chest as he walked towards the bed, not bothering to look for the main light switch. He struggled off the yawn as he carefully placed Maanvi over bed, surrounding her with the petals. The lights from the candles mirrored onto her face, making her skin slightly glow. He smiled, staring into her as he slowly placed the strand of her behind her ears. He stepped back slightly but something stopped him. He thought she had woken up but as he looked he saw that her mangalsutra was stuck around the button of his shirt. He fiddled around, taken it out without getting it damaged and stared at it.

"Maanvi, do you agree to this rishta?"

"Yes."

"Even if I can't accept you wholeheartedly, for now?"

"Yes."

"Maanvi, even if this is for the country? Do you still agree?"

"YES! YES! YES! I agree to this, I agree to everything."

That night he had married her, made her Mrs Virat Singh Vadhera. He bounded her to him. It was for selfish reasons, yes that was true, but she had accepted it so well. She was confused, she had cried for his family, and he had married her without giving her a choice. She would probably have wished for a dream wedding. A beautiful dress, a beautiful ceremony. Isn't that what any girl would have wished for? He didn't even think about his own wedding. He had gotten rid of the idea after Maya but now? He would have done anything just to marry. Virat couldn't help but think what if he had gotten married to Maanvi, the proper way. Those saat pheres, they had so much meaning, and he had destroyed the ideology by his shot-gun wedding.

He placed the mangalsutra back and tucked Maanvi into the bed with the duvet. He couldn't stop himself as he leaned over and kissed her softly on the forehead before blowing off the lights from the candles. He yawned, looking at the empty side of the bed. He shook his head, smiling before walking away to the sofa on the other side of the room.

Making himself slightly comfortable, he dipped his head back and closed his eyes. Thoughts came flooding into his mind:

Did he want to marry Maanvi again?

Yes.

Did he accept her wholeheartedly?

Yes.

Did he love her?

A million times, yes.

OH. MY GOD.

*screams*

I can't believe you updated just for me! I mean awww! What a perfect beginning to my birthday! I know I have my roomie and a bunch of friends coming over at midnight to wish me when the clock strikes 12, but seriously Zahara? You're the best! How did you even remember? 🤗 My birthday begins with a story! Eeeks!

Anyways, I personally loved the chapter! Its gratifying to see how Virat is head over heels in love with Maanvi, and to some extent, even she is in love with him. I just want to see how do you make Maanvi realise that she is in love with her husband! The plane ride was quite funny, the random stewardess getting all jealous of Maanvi whose possessive streak comes up, much to the pleasure of Virat!

SIddharth Malhotra? Seriously? I literally rolled around my bed laughing when I read that! That has got to be the cheekiest thing you've done in any of your fics! 🤣

I absolutely can NOT wait for their honeymoon to officially begin!

Thank you SO SO SO much once again!

Lots of Love,

Ritchelle
